2 INTRODUCTION Cycle Oregon is a nonprofit organization founded in 1989 with a mission of transforming lives and communities through bicycling. Cycle Oregon is primarily known as offering the best bike rides in America. We introduce people to the beauty of Oregon (and occasionally Washington, Idaho and California). Proceeds from our events are directed to the Cycle Oregon Fund, which awards grants to communities and projects that promote and protect special places throughout Oregon. Approximately 40,000 people, hailing from all 50 states plus dozens of foreign countries have enjoyed the Week Ride since More than 15,000 people have enjoyed the Weekend Ride, which encourages 2,000 family and friends to explore the Willamette Valley by bike since We advocate for safe places to ride, like Scenic Bikeways and off-road trails. In 1996 Cycle Oregon started the Cycle Oregon Fund at the Oregon Community Foundation. In 2014 the Fund reached the $2M mark and we grant an average of $80,000 annually to projects that preserve and promote the special places in Oregon. We design bike rides on gorgeous scenic roads that lead to main camp in small towns. Ride distances vary between miles per day. Riders eat breakfast in camp then hit the road with support provided along the way. We have vehicles on course all day including sedans scanning for safety, wagons helping repair flat tires and vans picking up tired riders. At the end of the day riders can shower, visit town and then come back for dinner while local musicians serenade them from our main stage. They end their day in their tent to rest up for the next day s adventure. We seek mission-aligned sponsors. We seek partners who share an interest in promoting exploration and adventure.
