2 Page 2 From the Director.. Russ Hall Well its going to get warmer soon and on the warmer days we will be tempted too ride. I urge a little caution this year, aside from all the road grit there are many huge swallow the bike pot holes. While driving the cage check out if the local crews have been repairing the roads. The ride planning meeting is at the dealership on Saturday March 1 all are welcome. If you were not at the last meeting I have patches and tee shirts for sale. The March Meeting will be a good one, because we will be presenting a $ check to our charity child. This donation was decided back when we were Pompton Plains Hog. I hope too be riding with you all real soon. Russ From the Assistant Director.. Dennis Lawler We re all looking forward to the spring riding season! Our first ride planning meeting will be Saturday, March 1 st, at the Garden State dealership on Rt. 23- all members are welcome to attend. Now is a good time to do bike maintenance to assure your bike is ready for riding season. The Garden State Dealership is fully equipped to perform spring tune-ups. At February s HOG meeting we talked about having destination rides as well as monthly rides that will return to the Garden State Harley Dealership for a BBQ for HOG members. For a nominal fee non-members will be welcome to join in the BBQ. The Garden State Dealership is now open Thursday evenings and is planning to host a bike night. We also discussed giving a donation check to our Charity Child. We will be making the presentation at the March meeting. We are looking forward to good club participation at our meetings and rides and encourage everyone to attend! Dennis

Gerry Molitor March 2014 Ride Planning Meeting 03/01/14 Talk about the winter of our discontent Charles Dickens must have owned a motorcycle and been a winter rider.. enough is enough already! Even the Polar Bear Tour has cancelled 2 rides and advised taking cages on two additional runs NEVER happened before! My scoot has its nose pointed into the corner of the garage and is sulking till warmer weather. Our first PLANNING MEETING will be March 1 at the Dealership. We will review Safety Proce- dures and general group riding practices. All members are welcome, and current Road Captains or 2014 candidates should attend. Additionally, we will discuss the coordination combined rides with our brother chapter during the 2014 riding season. Anyone with suggestions for overnight rides should put in an appearance too. Anyone venturing out during these recent warm spells should pay special attention to the horrible conditions found on NJ roads. We really need to focus on the huge potholes that will make riding dangerous until spring repairs can be made. As these few, wonderful 50 degree days prove it WILL eventually warm up. We look forward to planning an exciting and diverse ride season for Don t hesitate to let me know your ideas or opinions. Keith Ward Here we are the month we have been waiting for all winter...march! In like a lion out like a lamb! After all that snow in last month hopefully we won't have such a wet beginning of riding season! Time to get the bike out and prep it for use! At the last chapter meeting there was talk of member rides ending at the dealer for a MEMBER ONLY B.B.Q. Sounds like fun to me! If you are thinking of joining G.S.H. Morris county chapter now is the time to do so. All members are both welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings. Meetings start at 7:30 General Meetings meets the third Wednesday of every month except the month of December. Anyone is welcome to attend meetings to see what it is all about. You do not have to be a member to attend. See you there. 8 Volume XXVI1, Issue 3 Page 8 "Events coming in March at the Dealership." Greetings Members, For the past six years I have been involved in an organization called FLOW Follies. We are primarily a group of volunteer parents who write and perform in an original musical comedy to raise money to be used for scholarships for graduating seniors from the Ramapo/Indian Hills Regional High School District. We raise money through our four performances and through the ads we receive from local merchants. Scholarship recipients are chosen based on merit by their respective guidance counselors and administrators. This year a percentage will be awarded on a needs based criteria. The show this year is called On the Road with FLOW. It s a road trip with some familiar characters. The performances are March 13, 14 and 15 at 7:30 and March 16 at 2:00. They will be held at Indian Hills High School in Oakland. I invite you all to come and enjoy a fun night and help us beat last year s total of $40,500. At our last Chapter meeting two tickets were raffled off and Dennis Lawler and Michele Bauer Pulis were the winners. This will be their second time seeing the show and I can guarantee they will have a great time. A special Thank You goes out to Bob at Garden State Harley who gave his support by placing an ad in our ad journal. I hope to see Bob in the audience. Our Road Captains, discuss safety on all the rides as well as critique the previous months rides. We also plan future rides for the up and coming months and assign a Road Captain to lead those rides which include the Lunch & Dinner Rides, Sunday Rides as well as the Overnight Trips. The Ride Indicator will be marked at the end of each ride to indicate which Road Captain is leading that particular ride. This way iif you need additional information or have concerning with that particular ride call or that Road Captain and he or she can provide you with additional information.
