1 Lee McGraw Editor The HOG Pen May 2012 Another successful HOG Charity Raffle! Thanks for all who helped with our annual Charitable fund raiser. Mike Doby did a great job organizing the event. For those of us who did not win, we know the money will go to some great local causes - Cameron Boy's Camp, Sand hill Teen Challenge, Our Daily Bread Food Ministries, Christian United Outreach of Lee Co, NC Special Olympics, Our Local Red Cross, The L.G. Maness Scholarship, and our Local HOG member family Fund. I know we are a Motorcycle Riding Club, and many don t want to sell another ticket, but it is nice to give back. The chapter has been able to help a lot of people in need sense the chapter s charter in With 170 member's it should not be too difficult for us the sell the 150 tickets. If you did not participate this year I hope you will consider helping in Thanks again for all that helped make it a success. Our next Ride puts us in Beautiful Historic Charleston SC. It has been a chapter favorite for many years and sense we did not have an organized Ride there in 2011 it will be great to be down in the Low Country. We are working on a day ride for Sat. The Chapter will leave the shop at Friday May 11 at 9:30 - Hope to see you there! The following Sat. brings a day ride for lunch to Myrtle Beach - this is during Bike week [or whatever it is called these days] at Myrtle Beach. Many will be down at Myrtle Beach already but feel free to meet some of your chapter member s for lunch on Sat. May 19- there should be more details following. Be sure to call the shop and sign up for our Advanced Rider safety class to be held July 6 and 7. This is with 2 Motorcycle Police with the Pinehurst Police Dept.... If you sign up please commit to showing up. We have a lot of members who have expressed an interest in the event and we need to have a full group. More details to follow on this event. Over>>>

2 Continued>>> We have a full calendar. There are a lot of day rides and overnight trips planned. Get your schedule out and join the Chapter on the rides. Be sure to get your reservations for the overnight trips. If the rooms are all taken there are usually some alternative options for rooms in most of the surrounding areas. If you need some help let one of your Chapter officers know. It is never too late to start planning. If you have some rides and destinations in mind let s talk. The date of our Safety Training Event will be July 6&7, Officer Thomas Carpenter of the Pinehurst Police Dept. will conduct our training. Our classroom session is planned at the Pinehurst Police Dept. Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm will feature a Safety vid-eo, Group riding techniques and question and answer participation. The Field Discipline will be conducted at Union Pines High School, on Saturday July 7, 2012 from 8:00 am to approx. 12:00 noon.
