Correspondence - The Chapter Parade of Flags will be held at Milwaukee Bike Week on Saturday September 3rd. If anyone is interested in representing the chapter in the parade please see Kathy; the registration form must be completed by July 15th. Director - Kathy Lassonde I would like to thank everyone who volunteered at TSI s Bike Night. The proceeds from the 50/50 raffles at bike night will go towards purchasing turkeys at Thanksgiving for the families of the Ellington Human Service Department. Assistant Director - Paul Coons the 2011 Connecticut State Rally will be held in Danbury Connecticut on June 23rd, 24th and 25th. The Ellington Connecticut H.O.G. Chapter 0562 located in North central Connecticut, was founded in 1985 the first in the state. Now in our 26th year. Secretary - Diane Pellicane did not attend. Motion was made to accept the minutes as stated in the newsletter. Seconded. Treasurer - Jeannot Nadeau - Motion was made to accept the report as read. Seconded. Activities - Tim Mottes - Please see attached activities list. Membership - Linda DeGray - We currently have 125 members for Lead Road Captain - Norm LeBlanc did not attend. Safety Officer - Dave Joseph did not attend. Editor - Dave Lemieux did not attend There will be NO July HOG meeting. Ladies of Harley - Terri Owens and Donna Corey - The LOH
2 ride to Gillette Castle in East Haddam will be on June 11th; leaving Denny s in Vernon at 9:30 AM; the cost is $6.00.The next LOH meeting will be on July 25th, 6:30 PM at Lisa Savage s home. If anyone is interested in attending, please contact Terri for directions. Web Master - Alfred Grabka - did not attend. Photographer - Henry Lanuoette If anyone has any pictures, please send to Henry so he can post on the website. Historian - Kathie Morin - did not attend. Greeter - Paul Bacon did not attend. No cards were sent out this month. Dealer Liaison TSI is now open on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM; excluding service. TSI now has a rewards program that will provide for members with added discounts. Please stop by and pick up your rewards card. Old Business -Keith Lassonde - will be leading a ride to Dutches County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck NY for the Antique Motorcycle show on June 11th, leaving TSI at 8AM; this is a helmet ride and the cost of $ Donna Corey There will be a meeting on June 16th at 6:00 PM at TSI; open to everyone regarding our Poker Run. You can still drop off nonperishable food items at TSI to benefit the Ellington Human Service Department. Lee Kupidera - handed out additional paperwork for the Nova Scotia trip leaving on July 13th and returning on July 18th. New Business Kathy Lassonde - June 12th is Sarge s Poker Run, sponsored by TSI, registration is from 9:00 to 11:30 at TSI, the cost is $25.00 per bike, proceeds go to the Families of the Ellington Human Service Department; all bikes are welcome; please come out to support our Dealers charity. There will be NO July HOG meeting. Every Thursday Night from June 9th to August 25th - Bike Night at TSI from 5 PM to 8 PM, food, raffles, music and more. Special entertainment next week from Rick Sylvester. The proceeds from the 50/50 raffles at bike night will go towards purchasing turkeys at Thanksgiving for the families of the Ellington Human Service Department. All bikes are welcome. Per my conversation with Harry; we will not be having a facebook page for Ellington HOG. If anyone is doing a special ride or event; contact Kathy and she will send out a blast. EHOG Advocates are fellow members for you to go to, to share your concerns anonymously; whether it s about a fellow member, officer, safety issue or anything pertaining to the club. All concerns, complaints and/or suggestions, should be given to an advocate in writing to eliminate any miscommunication. No names will be mentioned. 6 Niagara Falls September 22, 23, 24 & 25, 2011 Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday Make your hotel reservations today Comfort Inn Clifton Hill 4960 Clifton Hill Niagara Falls, Ontario Group Name is E-HOG, the hotel says they will try to group us together. There is an indoor swimming pool and rooms that open to the pool with tables and chairs so we will have space to hang out during our stay. They have a 24-hour cancelation policy, Make you reservations today. You will need a Passport, there is still time.
7 Trip Details We will leave the Bickfords in 6 pm on Wednesday September 21 and travel about 50 miles past Albany NY. (3 hours from Enfield) On Thursday morning after breakfast, we will travel 4 hours to Niagara Falls State Park in NY. We will spend the afternoon on the American side of the falls and then travel across the bridge into Canada and check in to the hotel. Friday we will spend the day on the Canadian side of the falls taking in all of the tourist sights. Saturday we will ride along the river to the Whirlpool Aero Car. We will ride the cable car over the whirlpool rapids getting lots of great pictures and laughs. After we will continue to the east toward the small village of Niagara-on-the-Lake. (Lots of small shops and food opportunities) Maybe a ride on the Whirlpool Jet Boat- for the daring? On the way back we can stop at one of the many local wineries. On Sunday, we will have breakfast at the hotel and get on the road heading home. We will find a place for lunch on the way home. It is only 7 hours of travel time a little less than 400 miles After you make your reservations please send me an so I can get a head count. If you have any questions or comments please call or me.
