BOBCAT PRiDE Northeastern School District April 17, 2015 Conewago students raised an amazing $2, for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the Pennies for Patients Campaign. As a school reward, Mr. Shaffer allowed the highest fundraising classroom to turn him into a "Principal Cake." Mr. McNeil's 3rd grade classroom was the lucky group! They raised $ NE got 3rd place out of 17 teams across the county this Saturday...first time going to the event. Fun stuff. Left to right; Logan Fries, Joseph Krueger, Peter Gordineer, Hunter Rambeau
All had a blast as the seniors and middle school students enjoyed the social interaction of a friendly game of Dominos Chicken Foot. Students at Mount Wolf celebrated diversity by learning about Autism, about the diagnosis, and about the students within our educational setting living with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We promoted a respect for differences by recognizing differences within ourselves and shedding positive light on the idea of being unique. We focused on a positive and safe environment for all students by taking time to discuss how we have many characteristics that make us the same. We all have feelings and a desire to have friends. Let's show we are aware and celebrate Autism!
Four of Mrs. Huetter s students enjoyed lunch and games with Dr. Minnich and Dr. Sidle as a good behavior award. Their time was spent eating lunch and then the group enjoyed a spirited game of UNO Dare...where Dr. Sidle was dared to dance and to jump on one leg!! Fun was had by all!
left to right: Danny Johnston (3rd place), Carly Olmo (2nd place), Wilson Welch (1st place) Nine members of the Future Business Leaders of America recently competed at the PA FBLA State Leadership Conference in Hershey with a record number 4,600 participants. Congratulations to senior, Jordan Reeser, who placed 8th in the state in Business Communications. Also, congratulations to senior, Ryan Matulonis, who placed 6th in the state in Client Service. Northeastern High School was also recognized for our donation to the State Charity Project, the Twilight Wish Foundation (this is an organization that grants wishes to senior citizens). The High School received 6th place in Largest Donation per Capita and 8th place in Largest Overall Donation. The other state competitors were Kalie Stroup and Nicholas Craft in Desktop Publishing; Emily Miller in Business Calculations; Liam Bishop in Business Math; Charles Oberdick in Public Speaking 2; Megan Hlodash in Impromptu Speaking; and Kelsie Hartranft as Member at Large. We also had four members who were selected for membership into the National Business Honor Society: Kyle Murry, Derek Oaster, Kody Reeser, and Adolfo Salinas. Congratulations to all competitors and to Northeastern High School for another successful year. The attached pictures are of the group outside the Hotel Hershey, a group picture following the Awards of Excellence Program, and the final picture is of Jordan and Ryan with their state plaques.
Elementary Bobcat students and families attended our annual spring Title I Parent Involvement Event, Dive into Reading, on Friday, April 10, Our K-6 reading specialists planned and facilitated this evening event again this year. Attendees participated in two (or more) literacy learning activities and then enjoyed an evening of free swim in the Northeastern High School's Natatorium! In addition, Mr. McCollum, our Diving Coach, had student divers in the well demonstrating their amazing diving skills. Participation was outstanding, and a great time was had by all who attended!

These two special ladies, who are retiring at the end of this school year, received a standing ovation from the students! Congratulations Mrs. Romine and Mrs Leakway!
Last month, a school staff member nominated Miss Cecelia Clouser for Central Penn Parent magazine s Caped Crusader award. We were very impressed with her selflessness and initiative in collecting winter items for the needy in our community. I am very happy to tell you that she has been chosen to be recognized as our May honoree! As such, she will be profiled in our May issue and in a piece on ABC27. Perpetuating the stereotype and having fun during PSSA testing at the middle school. Officer Frey and Tim Law keep the mood light.
