3 2014 LSU FOOTBALL Dear Coach/Administrator, On behalf of Louisiana State University, we look forward to hosting your football team in Baton Rouge this upcoming season. Please take a few minutes to review the enclosed information. This visitor guide will provide all the necessary information you may need during your visit. The material includes general information about LSU Athletics with an emphasis on specific game day operations surrounding a typical LSU home football game. Please be sure to complete and return the travel and credential request forms in a timely manner so we may provide the best possible assistance during your visit (please jballen@lsu.edu or fax to ). To assist with your travel efforts, contact numbers for the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport and TSA representatives are provided in the contacts section. We very much encourage you (or whomever provides your air charter service) to make contact with the airport to help coordinate and expedite your travel. Local TSA representatives are aware of your needs and they are willing to work with you and your team. 7 GENERAL TEAM INFORMATION (A-Z) Tiger Stadium in located in Baton Rouge, LA on the campus of Louisiana State University Stadium Capacity: 102,321 Playing surface: Natural Grass ATHLETIC TRAINING Two LSU student trainers will be assigned to your team sideline and will be available before, during and after the game. Ambulance service is also available to transport injured athletes to area hospitals. Field medics with a mobile unit are available at the request of the home athletic trainers and the LSU team physicians. The mobile field level transport unit will be located adjacent to the visiting team locker room. X-ray facilities are available inside the main LSU Athletic Training Room at Tiger Stadium. Below are some important numbers you may need during your visit: Martin J. Broussard Center for Athletic Training Baton Rouge General Medical Center Mid City (ER) Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center (ER) LSU Student Health Center CREDENTIALS LSU Athletics will provide visiting teams with game day credentials. All credentials will be name specific. It is extremely important that the credential request forms on pages 19 & 20 are completed and submitted 2 weeks prior to your institution s game. Visiting coaches and administration must understand the security of their sideline requires their utmost cooperation with the policies and procedures of LSU Event Management. It is the responsibility of the visiting team to distribute credentials to the appropriate working personnel. Working personnel consists of those individuals with game related functions on the team sideline and/or in the press box. All credentials are non-transferable and must remain clearly visible at all times. All credentialed individuals are subject to question and anyone without the proper credentials will be asked to leave the area and/or removed by uniformed security. Per SEC regulations, sideline specific credentials will be provided to each team (these credentials are to be utilized by the coaches, athletic trainers, managers, and any necessary personnel). These passes must be worn and visible at all times the field gates are restricted access points where credentials are checked at all times. Anyone not wearing their game day credential will be denied field access! You will be asked to show your pass every time. Please be advised, LSU will comply with the SEC guidelines on age requirements for the sidelines and team areas. Children younger than 16 years of age in the team area must have a team related function. Absolutely no children under the age of 10 years will be allowed in the team area or on the sidelines during the game please make appropriate accommodations to have tickets for any children/youths that may normally accompany the team (including children of coaches and administration). LSU may provide up to ten (10) Press Box Passes (specific for the visiting coaches booth). Please list your coaches working from the press level on the Team Credential Request Form (PAGE 19). In addition, please indicate the number of requested credentials needed for visiting administration. Include the total number and list all individuals that will be viewing the game from the Visiting AD s Suite on the Institutional Credential Request form (PAGE 20). LSU requests all guests in the Visiting AD Suite keep their credential visible at all times. 7

For questions regarding game day credentials, please contact Jon Allen for team needs ((225) ) or for media credentials, please contact Kent Lowe ((225) ). DRESSING ROOM The visiting team locker room is located in the southeast corner of Tiger Stadium. On game day, your dressing room will be supplied with soap, towels, ice (in 40 lb. bags), soft drinks (or sport beverage), and game programs. The LSU Equipment staff will provide keys for the locker room; however, your equipment staff is welcome to use their own locks to secure the locker room if they choose. EQUIPMENT The sideline area will be equipped with sufficient bench seating, as well as two (2) tables, an electric outlet and a water outlet. Field Armor will be laid out on the sidelines at four (4) hours prior to kickoff. All sideline equipment needs to be positioned within the team restricted area the media walkway behind the team benches must be clear at all times. All cords, cables, and hoses must be tucked away in the cable trays LSU does not provide extension cords. Any special or unique sideline apparatus/equipment (i.e. heating/cooling systems, large storage units etc.) must be approved by LSU Event Management (please provide details, ex. cooling units - emits exhaust). Non-approved items or anything deemed hazardous or inappropriate will be removed from the sideline without team consent. Also, truck drivers may wish to contact Greg Stringfellow (see page 4 for contact information) for the best routes to Tiger Stadium for extra large equipment trucks. Trucks and buses MUST turn off engine in the parking area. No exceptions! FIELD ACCESS LSU will follow SEC standards for access to the playing field for all conference and non-conference games. The field will officially be available for warm up beginning 75 minutes prior to kickoff. Please see the diagrams (Page 12). A pre game timing format will be provided to each team indicating the times when the field will be cleared and when it will be available for teams to return (pregame and halftime). Per SEC policies, at the conclusion of the game, once the visiting team has entered the locker room, under no circumstances may the team return to the field (e.g. no curtain calls). Also, at no time will the visiting team participants be allowed access to the stands/spectator areas. FILM & VIDEO POSITIONS Camera positions are available for game filming in the end zone and in the press box - level 300. Credentials will be required to access these positions - be sure to include in the official credential request. For all information regarding game filming locations and arrangements contact, Doug Aucoin, LSU Video, INCLEMENT WEATHER & INTERRUPTED GAME PROCEDURES LSU Event Management will communicate directly with the Head Coach or a designated representative from the visiting team to provide updates and information regarding any weather-related situations. LSU maintains a lightning detection system providing alerts and information regarding lightning strikes within the vicinity of Tiger Stadium. LSU will adhere to NCAA and SEC policies and procedures regarding any weather-related issues and/or game procedures. If there are any questions regarding any of these policies, please contact Jon Allen prior to your visit. Please see Page 13 for the interrupted game procedures and details copies will be posted in the team locker room as well. 8

Louisiana State Troopers will provide a courtesy escort and Event Management Staff will direct the buses upon arrival. A limited number of parking passes are available for the visiting team personnel (equipment staff, coaches, and/or administration that may be arriving with the team in personal vehicles with the team escort). All vehicles in the team escort must be approved by LSU Event Management. Team buses traveling in the escort will not be required to have a parking permit. Only team busses may travel in the team escort any additional busses or vehicles bringing alumni or boosters must make other arrangements. Equipment personnel will need to make arrangements with event management regarding arrival times and itinerary as to ensure access through restricted roads around Tiger Stadium. Please contact Jon Allen prior to arrival for arrangements and details for team-related parking questions. All general questions regarding fan/spectator parking, motor home lots, directions, reserved lots...etc. should be directed to Adam Smith ( ). PRACTICE LSU will make available Tiger Stadium to the visiting teams for walk-through/practice on the day prior to game day if requested. Visiting teams will be provided with towels, drinks, and ice for requested practice. LSU follows the SEC protocol for providing access to the competition area for practice. Please review the following Tiger Stadium Polices for the practice: Requests must be submitted at least 5 days prior to the date of game LSU will make the facility available per SEC recommendations In the case of inclement weather, an alternate practice location will be arranged if necessary Absolutely NO cleat-styled shoes allowed on the competition surface prior to game day Please complete the Team Travel Form (PAGE 16). Tiger Stadium security procedures commence at 5:30 PM on the day prior to football game days and all personnel (including the team) must be out of the stadium by 5:30 PM no exceptions. LSU recommends scheduling your 1-hour practice between the hours of 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM, however, all efforts will be exhausted to accommodate special situations. PRESS BOX COACHING BOOTH The visiting team coaching booth is located on the north end of the 3 rd level press area. The coaching booth can be reached by taking the center bank of elevators located on the west side of Tiger Stadium. The coaches using the press box booth will need to meet with Event Management to coordinate a security escort from the field to the press box. When escorted to the press box on game day, it is recommended for all coaches to travel as one group and do not confront or address any spectators. Credentials for the coaching booth will be included with the team credentials these should be worn at all times and remain visible. 9

10 GENERAL TEAM INFORMATION (A-Z) RADIO SYSTEM (COACHES HEADSET) Tiger Stadium is equipped with phone lines for your headset system (LSU currently uses Coach Comm NG System for their wireless communications). Louis Bourgeois ( ) will be the technician assigned to provide assistance to your staff at practice and on game day. Please contact him prior to your visit if you have specific questions regarding frequencies and setup. In addition, on game days LSU employs a frequency coordinator to provide assistance to radio communications please let us know immediately if you experience problems so we can address the situation. Any special needs must be clearly requested and identified prior to your visit. SECURITY LSU will provide the visiting team with appropriate security for the following areas. Buses/Equipment Truck - A police motor escort will be provided to your team as a courtesy of the Louisiana State Police and the LSU Athletic Department. Security will be provided in your dressing room area from the arrival of your equipment truck through the conclusion of the game. Police escorts and ample uniformed personnel will remain in the visiting team locker room area following the conclusion of the game until the buses depart (police will escort buses away from the stadium). Please indicate requested escort times (practice and game day) by filling out the Team Travel Form (PAGE 16) and promptly returning the form to Jon Allen. Please indicate on the travel information if local police/security will travel with the team. The team security escorts are a collaborative effort between the Louisiana State Police and the LSUPD. In addition, LSU will provide a minimum of two security officers located behind the team bench. LSU Event Management will also provide two Event Staff Team Members to monitor and control all sideline activities monitoring both team and media zones. Anyone not affiliated with your teams should be identified to the LSU staff immediately. Locker Room LSU will provide uniformed security and a minimum of three Event Staff Team Members to monitor all entry points of the visiting team locker room. LSU Event Staff will remain with the visiting team throughout the duration of the game and through post game activities. Metal barricades will also be used to provide secure passageways for the visiting team upon arrival and departure from the locker room. SIDELINE The visiting team sideline is located on the east side of the field of Tiger Stadium. The team bench area extends from the 25 yard line to the 25 yard line. Sideline turf armor will be laid down at four (4) hours prior to kickoff. Equipment staff may setup early by moving their equipment out to the media walkway once the turf armor is down, equipment staff should move everything off of the walkway and onto the field sideline area.. 10

11 GENERAL TEAM INFORMATION (A-Z) STADIUM POLICIES In order to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, the following items are NOT allowed in Tiger Stadium. No items should be left at or near the entrance of the stadium these items will be discarded. Coolers, ice chests, bottles, cans, cups (or containers of any kind) Backpacks of any kind (all sizes) All bags and purses larger than 8.5 x 11 Outside food and drinks Umbrellas Any type of artificial noise makers violators are subject to ejection Pets of any variety (except for service animals) Video cameras Weapons of any kind including pocket knives, multi-function tools, and any items deemed inappropriate Banners / flags / poles / projectiles of any kind (and/or and obtrusive/obstructive signage) - small handheld signs are subject to approval by LSU Administration ADDITIONAL POLICIES No Smoking in Tiger Stadium Includes e-cigarettes All persons must have a ticket for admission regardless of age No Re-Entry Anyone leaving the stadium must have a new unused ticket to re-enter All persons entering the facility are subject to search No oversized portable stadium seats or objects that may impeded on the comfort / safety of others (including items such as portable heaters and fans) Tickets may not be resold on the stadium premises and/or the surrounding grounds (including the stadium parking lots) TEAM TRAVEL Please see Page 16 for the Team Travel Form. The following travel forms must be completed and returned in a timely manner - it is ideal to return these forms two (2) weeks prior to the game if television will determine the game time, please return no later than five (5) days prior to game day. LSU staff will be provided at your request to assist with the visitor s will-call window. All gates open to the public two at and a half (2.5) hours prior to kick-off. Player Guest Admissions LSU follows NCAA guidelines regarding player guest admissions. Players guests will be admitted only with picture ID. You must provide an institutional representative to supervise your player guest admissions. For more information regarding Will Call Tickers and/or Player Guest Admissions, please contact the LSU Ticket Office at (225) UNIFORMS LSU will wear white jerseys with gold pants for the majority of home games. Purple jerseys with gold pants will be worn for select games. 11

12 GENERAL TEAM INFORMATION (A-Z) VISITING ADMINISTRATION A private suite is available for the visiting athletic director (and his/her designated party) in the south end zone suites. When requesting credentials, please identify those individuals that need all access and those that will be utilizing the visiting AD booth. Please provide names for those individuals that will be receiving the visiting AD booth passes. All credentials will be sent from LSU Sports Information. WARM UP ZONES During pre game warm ups, each team is designated specific areas of the field for individual and team drills. The following diagrams will be posted in the team locker room. 12

13 INTERRUPTED GAME PROCEDURES The following information is from the SEC severe weather policy. The information below will be posted throughout the locker room on game day. If there are any questions, please contact LSU Game Management prior to your visit. 13

14 VISITING BAND INFORMATION LSU Athletics will be pleased to host your band at Tiger Stadium. All requests for special needs should be indicated on the Band Travel Form (PAGE 17). Please have the appropriate person (s) review the following information and return a copy of the Band Travel Form within the suitable timeframe One (1) month prior to game day and updated one (1) week prior to game. Please keep a copy of this information for your records. BAND ENTRANCE Visiting bands will enter Tiger Stadium through a gate located at the southeast corner of Tiger Stadium. Only uniformed band personnel and band members will be admitted through this gate (no exceptions). Guests are NOT allowed as all individuals must have a valid ticket or credential. BAND SEATING Visiting bands will be seated in the visitors section, within the south end zone of Tiger Stadium. Visiting bands will be directed to their seats upon entering the stadium. Specifically assigned seats will be provided by our ticket office the band seating area will be marked and monitored. Bands will not be allowed to exceed the designated seating area, so please plan accordingly. Any band members sitting in reserved seats (general public seats) or attempting to encroach on an area of reserved seats will be asked to move and will not be allowed in the seating area. HALFTIME Performance time is limited to seven (7) minutes total unless specifically arranged with the Band and Promotions Staff (includes the time on and off the playing field). Any and all halftime activity/performances must be coordinated with Roy King in the LSU band office (225) AND the LSU Athletic Marketing and Promotions (225) PARKING LSU will provide a courtesy security escort for the visiting bands (please see below for contact information). The escort will guide the band buses and equipment trucks through campus to a designated parking area located near Tiger Stadium. Absolutely no personal vehicles will be allowed in the security escort or allowed to park with the buses/trucks.. Parking permits will not be required for the buses or equipment trucks; however, all details must be submitted via the travel form within the appropriate time frame. SEC/NCAA Please be advised, LSU follows NCAA and SEC football regulations. Note the following specific band policies, and if a full copy of the band policies and procedures is needed, please contact Jon Allen. Thank you for your cooperation. Per SEC rules and regulations, visiting team band director must contact the home institution s Event Management Contact person no later than 30 days prior to the game, to advise of commitment to attend the game. Bands performing at conference football games shall be prohibited from playing from the time the offensive center takes his place over the football until the officials whistle the play dead. At the conclusion of the game, bands may perform (2) songs not to exceed (5) minutes in the stands. Access to the field will not be available following the game. The use of fireworks, cannons and other explosive devices shall be prohibited. In the event of inclement weather, the decision on whether to permit the marching bands on the field shall be at the discretion of home team game management personnel. LSU Concessions will be available to provide food and drinks. Please specify on the travel form, the order per person, quantities, billing information and any other additional items requested. 14

15 SPIRIT SQUAD INFORMATION Louisiana State University will be pleased to host your spirit squad. The following information is provided in the event your group elects to attend the game. Please have the appropriate person (s) review the information and return a completed copy of the Spirit Squad Travel Form (PAGE 18) as soon as possible. Please keep a copy for your records. CREDENTIALS Cheerleaders in uniform will not be required to wear a game day credential. Access to the field is restricted so coaches and/or managers must wear game day credentials. Credentials are provided on request only and will be mailed to the spirit squad contact person approximately two (2) weeks prior to the game. Only university affiliated working personnel will be provided with credentials. ENTRANCE Cheerleaders and Mascots should enter through Gate 11 located at the southeast corner of the stadium. Spirit squad members in uniform will be admitted through Gate 11 without credentials. Coach or Coordinator must have proper game day credentials to enter through Gate 11. Absolutely no guests will be permitted - all individuals should have a working purpose (and credential) or must have a ticket for admittance (no exceptions). SIDELINES Spirit squads are positioned in front of the visitor s seating section, at the southeast corner of the field. Please note: Only your school s official spirit squad will be allowed on the field to cheer during the game. Dance squads or auxiliary spirit squads will NOT be admitted on field. Dance squads must coordinate with the school band for allocation of tickets for necessary seating arrangements. GAME CONTINUITY A printed game continuity/itinerary, including all pre-game, half-time and kick-off times will be sent to your team the week of the game. Additional copies will be available on game day if necessary. MASCOT Institution with live mascots will need to coordinate 2 weeks in advance for credentials and entrance procedures. Please indicate any special requests on the Spirit Squad Travel Form. Costume mascots must be identified and issued credentials. Procedures and location for mascot changing area will be discussed on site at the stadium. SEC/NCAA Please be advised that the following conference and stadium regulations will be enforced. Thank you for your cooperation. The use of fireworks, cannons, and other explosive devices shall be prohibited. Visiting Cheerleader Coach must notify LSU Event Management no later than 10 days prior to the game if the cheerleaders will be attending the game Cheerleaders and Mascots must remain within the designated areas on their team sideline. Cheer squad may occupy the area between the end of the team bench area and the end line of the end zone SECURITY ESCORT Per SEC Guidelines, LSU does not provide a separate security escort for visiting spirit squads. If not traveling with the team, please make arrangements to rendezvous with your band prior to their departure to Tiger Stadium so your group will be included in the security escort. If there is no visiting band, please call and we will provide the necessary assistance to ensure safe arrival and departure from the stadium. 15
