I had a granddaughter graduation that night. Grandkids trump everything. What a great way to start off the month. Meeting at my house for coffee and donuts before the balloon launch was a good idea. The sight of 50 gold balloons launching at the same time was awesome. Has anyone got a response from one of the cards attached to the balloons? Thanks to Jerry Conrad, Linda Ochs, Ken and Troy Brust for putting the balloon launch together. After the launch we headed to the Nicholson s home on Fort Gibson Lake for two tech demonstrations. One by Ralph Hudson about adjusting breaks on the Model A, the other over removing and replacing the distributor in a Model A by Marvin Mellage. Both presentations were excellent and very informative and probably very helpful someday. Next we had hamburgers cooked on the grill with all the trimmings and deserts. They were excellent. Thanks to John and Shirley for hosting the cook out and providing the shop space for the tech demos. Also, thanks to all those who brought the side dishes, again the food was excellent. It was a beautiful day and the back yard view of the lake was outstanding. Johnny did excellent job preparing the yard and putting out all of those flowers that Shirley brought home for him to set out. Breakfast for June 2 has been moved from Johnny s Egg to the Silver Skillet at 61 and Memorial. (They bought an add from us). June 30th is our trip to see the River City Players Show in Tahlequah. We should meet at the Quip Trip at 81st and hwy 51 East of Broken Arrow, across from Blue Bell and be ready to depart at 10:30 am and arrive in Tahlequah about 12:00. We are expected at Sam & Ella s Restaurant at 12:30pm. The show starts at 2:00pm. If you have any changes or cancellations I need them by the June 10th. May the Ford be with You, Don Reed

2 Nuts & Bolts (Or Miscellaneous Tidbits) by Ken Brust A very enjoyable time was had by all during our Saturday morning coffee and donuts, the 50 helium balloon launch for our 50th anniversary, and then a multi-car caravan to Fort Gibson Lake for food aplenty. Many thanks to all who helped make it a huge success. The one balloon found thus far was discovered 50 miles away by a most interesting person. Come to the Sunday, July 15, BBQ luncheon when we will officially celebrate our 50th anniversary to hear all the details! As you can tell by the numerous ads in our Rumble Sheet, many have supported us financially to help make this a fun anniversary year. Please remember to thank all of these contributors when you have the opportunity. I m still collecting Model A memories for our anniversary booklet, so if you haven t sent me anything yet, do so NOW! And please don t tell me that you don t have any memories worth sharing! We all have had some fun and interesting stories with our Model A Fords, so send me yours! Several of us are planning to attend the Regional Meet in Springfield, MO, in early June. We are looking forward to an exciting week of exploring the backroads of the Ozarks with other Model A friends from all parts of the country. Get your tickets from Jeanne now for the July 15 luncheon. We need a count by the end of June, so don t hesitate, don t vacillate, don t castrate, (??)...just communicate and don t wait and be late and then miss all the elation!!! 9 A group of about 27 members were in attendance. Ken Brust filled in for Don Reed and Ross Lord who were both attending school/family events. Following flag salute, Don House offered a meaningful prayer. Always good to have Don back with us. Allen reported that Jamie s ankle is healing well. Ken s knee is almost back to normal. Jerry and Linda were recognized and thanked for coordinating the festive 50 balloon launch. Linda reported she has received one call thus far from south of Henryetta. Thanks were offered to Don and Jesse in their absence for hosting the balloon launch at their home. Applause was given to Johnny and Shirley in appreciation for their wonderful hosting of the delicious pot-luck burger picnic at their beautiful lake home. And another round of applause was provided for Ralph and Marvin for their informative tech sessions. Thanks to everyone for a really enjoyable outing. Ken has pair of sunglasses found at picnic. Saturday, June 2, breakfast will be at 9:00am at Silver Skillet, SE corner of 61st and Memorial. On Sunday morning, June 3, nine cars, at last count, are leaving the Tulsa area for the Regional in Springfield, MO. Following the July breakfast, a visit is planned at the VA Center in Claremore. Then on Sunday, July 15, our club will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in high style with an aerial photo of our cars followed by a 3-meat BBQ luncheon at Stokley s Event Center. Tickets went on sale and Jeanne was collecting checks, $30/ member, $15 for teen, 12-under, no charge. This is a member only event but all members are encouraged to attend and help with the celebration. Mitchell DuVall shared some Model A memories with the group that began for him back in Thanks, Mitchell. Ken also shared some car-related bits. Barbara alerted everyone that time was running out to get pictures to her for the club s 50th anniversary photo book. Ken also requested everyone to send in their memories and stories to him for the Memory booklet to be printed and provided on July 15. An announcement was made about Fred Wightman selling his two cars. Applause was given to Tory and Linda for the array of cookies and Tory encouraged everyone to take plenty. The Rumble Sheet June 2018 Thank you to everyone who contributed photos of their Model A Fords for inclusion in our clubs 50th Anniversary Photo book. If you were guessing how many vehicles would be featured, would you guess 86? While our club members collectively have just over 100, getting an 80% response is fantastic. Thank you to everyone who submitted. The book is now complete and a sample copy will soon be ordered. After that, we will advise members when there is a good sale for ordering personal copies. Hopefully the company who will be printing them will offer good pricing within the next few months. Barbara Cail

10 4th on the 3rd Concert July 3, :30 p.m. If you are interested in attending Signature Symphony and Signature Chorale s 4.th on the 3rd concert, ticket deadline for going with other Club Members is JUNE 12. While I do not have the exact cost, tickets should not exceed $12 pp. Barbara Cail ( ) will collect names of those who plan to attend and will be buying the tickets at noon June 12. No late-comer tickets will be available for seating with the group. Signup sheets will also be available at the June breakfast and during Regional. The 4.th on the 3rd concert features America s beloved patriotic music and give tributes to those who have served her. This concert has been a favorite event for several years. Reserve your spot now for this rousing celebration of the red, white and blue. For those interested, a dinner at a location near the theater will be arranged once we have tickets. 12 About the Tulsa Model A Ford Club Chapter #8231 of the Model A Club of America (MAFCA) This is the official publication of the Tulsa Chapter of Model A Ford Club of America. This monthly newsletter is mailed to members, prospective members, advertisers and editors of similar publications. It s purpose is to keep you informed of what has taken place, scheduled activities and to promote fellowship among club members. Members are encouraged to submit articles containing technical or any club related information. Articles must reach the editor by the 5th of the month to insure publication in that month s newsletter. Articles received after that will appear in a following newsletter. Membership dues for the Tulsa Model A Ford Club are $20 per family annually payable at the end of the year. Contact the New Member chairperson for new memberships and the Treasurer for renewals. The Tulsa Model A Ford Club recommends membership in the national MAFCA organization. Members may advertise at no cost, non-business ads in the newsletter For Sale, Wanted or Trade section. Businesses may advertise with cost by the ad size, (business card size or 1/4. page) in the advertising section. The number of ads are restricted to space available in the Rumble Sheet. Contact the Advertising chairperson for details.
