The Life of the Red Kangaroo The Life of the Red Kangaroo is a film written and produced by the students from M Bunghara School in the Tanami Desert. Watch and listen to the film carefully and answer the questions below in full sentences: 1. Who is the film dedicated to and what happened to him? 2. 3 MAMMALS A mammals is an animal that: has warm blood has fur or hair feeds milk to their babies R L3.4 Learning-how-to-learn WS 3.2 Investigating There are three types of mammals: Placental mammals: mammals whose babies develop in their mother's womb until they are ready to be born (Eg. humans). Marsupials: mammals whose babies are born when they are not fully developed and then live and grow in their mother s pouch (Eg. kangaroos). Monotremes: mammals that lay eggs (Eg. echidnas) Did you know that whales and dolphins are mammals? Baby dolphins are born with a moustache! Look at the pictures of the mammals below and write whether they are a placental mammal, a marsupial or a monotreme. You may to do your own research to find the answers. 4 GREEN TREE FROG The students from Millner Primary School in Darwin have produced a fantastic video clip using stop motion animation. It would have taken a long time and a lot of hard work, but as you can see, it was worth it!
