2 JOIN CITY YEAR FOR THE 14TH ANNUAL RIPPLES OF HOPE GALA City Year Seattle/King County s annual fundraising gala, Ripples of Hope, celebrates the idealism and service of the AmeriCorps members serving in 10 of Seattle s under-served schools. This celebratory evening gathers together more than 700 prominent leaders from Seattle s business and nonprofit communities to network and engage with young emerging leaders who are making a difference in the lives of our students. Since Ripples of Hope began, the event has raised $3.6 million, helping City Year reach at-risk youth in southeast and southwest Seattle who need our service the most. This year, we aim raise more than $700,000 to support this critical service work. These critically needed funds directly translate to 150,000+ hours of service by City Year AmeriCorps members, including a full academic-year of targeted interventions for nearly 4,675 students at risk of dropping out.
