1 Eisenhower Athletic Booster Club A meeting of the Eisenhower Athletic Booster Club Membership was held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 7:00 PM, at Eisenhower High School, Shelby Township, MI. Please let us know if you are a member and not receiving communications via . Motion to approve the meeting minutes from the November 13, 2017 general membership meeting was made with a second. Vote taken; all in favor. Minutes pass. 2 Football players committed to the Army and Airforce, more offers are coming this weekend. Sexual Harassment policy is posted under our Volunteer tab on the Booster website and our Membership form will also include a disclaimer so that each member is aware and accepts. B. Vice President- Vesna Matovski None. C. Secretary Report-Lisa Smith Handed out Hamlin Pub Eagles Cards to all membership in attendance. This card will donate 20% of your food bill back to the IKE Sports. New Remind Account set-up for the Boosters, please sign up and this will be another mode of communication for our Announcements and Concession sign-ups. Please see attached flyer for instructions on how to sign up. 1
2 D. Treasurer Report-Dave Schorling See attached Treasurer Report and Check Registers as of November Dave read what was deposited and disbursed from the Booster Club accounts. The report out was done over an overhead projector so that membership could see what Dave is reading. E. Membership Report-Jim Handy The Booster Club has a total of 333 members as of December, compared to 277 members last year at this time. The sports with the highest percentage of membership are Boys Basketball at 98%, Dance-75%, and Girls Basketball-72%, see attached spreadsheet. Roster was passed to membership to confirm membership and volunteerism. Please see Jim to become a member. To capture today s attendance please sign up on the sheet floating around the room. F. Volunteer Report-Lisa Kennelly Thank you to everyone in attendance for volunteering, it is much appreciated. Volunteer for each of our event/concession opportunities on Sly Reply at G. Coaches Visit 1. Basketball Coach Satawa We are hosting the Varsity, JV, and Freshmen Play-off game. Committee Reports A. Concessions-Lisa Kennelly None. B. 50/50 Raffle No information at this time. C. Eisenhower Athletic Booster Scholarship program College Scholarship: The recipients will receive a check for $500 paid to the institution of their choice and will be acknowledged during honors night. Requirements were disclosed. Underclassmen Scholarship: Free pay to play worth $165. Every time you volunteer you earn a ticket towards winning the scholarship, write a 100 word essay, need to be a current member in good standing and attend at least one membership meeting. 2
3 Turn in applications with essays at the April meeting. D. The Eisenhower Athletic Booster Club Fall Mega Raffle-Vesna Matovski and Lisa Kennelly Another event forthcoming in the Spring of 2018 with more prizes. Chuck DeBeau won third prize and donated $100 back to the Boosters. Feedback given that $20 was too much money, $10 would be perfect. E. Poker Charity Events Poker Charity Events: We work with 2 facilities One Eyed Jacks and Ciccarelli s through River Poker who gives us 4 dates per year. Staff is needed at these events at all times; each shift is hours, with 3 people at each shift, 6 members per day. Must be a paid member of the Booster Club to volunteer because this is a Booster event, not the teams. These events generate a lot of money and they are easy to run, great fundraising opportunity! 1. Dec 18-21, 2017 at Ciccarelli s (New Event opportunity) Staffed by Baseball/Softball teams. This date is the most profitable of the year! 2. January 25-28, 2018 at One Eyed Jacks Boys and Girls Soccer 3. February 1-4, 2018 (New Event Opportunity) Cheerleading 4. March 15-18, 2018 at One Eyed Jacks Cross Country (55 total) and possibly Boosters 5. August 6-9, 2018 at One Eyed Jacks Football will staff 2 days and if no other teams want it the Booster Board will take it as a fundraiser for the club. Board has decided volunteer credits will not be awarded due to no profit is taken by the Boosters the funds go direct to the sport that volunteers. AD and Administration Reports A. Ken Marnon-Vice Principal Not present. B. John Bertich-Athletic Director Presented the Fall honors for 2017 please see attached. 7 sports and 4 coaches of the year Hockey team is undefeated Cheer First Competition of the year was this past Saturday finished 9 out of 15. C. AD/Coaches Requests 1. Baseball Field maintenance supplies and material request for reimbursement, services were donated. 2. Ashley Schutte, Varsity Competitive Cheerleading Coach requesting matts. UCS School district covered and purchased. 3. Football wedge banner, cut-outs for the Seniors. 3
4 4. Boys and Girls Basketball request for Krossover to replace HUDL in the school year. This will be an annual team request, on paper it looks like $400 goes away if basketball not included with next renewal. However, clarification is needed because they have a lot of free line items for other teams. Boosters may be able to apply this cost to another sport to allow many of the free line items to continue for other teams. For more information please reference 5. Greg Czar Wrestling Team Parent present - Request from Coach Drath will be forthcoming they need 2 refurbished i-pads for HUDL. 6. Athletic Department Request for traditional post and rope stanchions for stylish crowd control queue. Old Business 1. Remember to use when shopping Amazon. The link is on the Booster Club Membership form for your reference. Athletic Boosters received $66 last month in November for the referral fees for a percentage of the sales. New Business on the Floor 1. Blankets status is Boosters are engaged with highschoolblanket.com, are sitting in a warehouse awaiting shipment, but we are expecting delivery before Christmas. They will be giving us a few extra blankets for free as a consolation for the delays.
