Umpires: D Baggley & M Goldsworth (1 st XI), D Baldrey (2 nd XI) Review of the Season: There were many memorable moments and achievements, including Rob Baker beating the record for most 1 st XI wickets set by William Lane Pike in 1907 when claiming his 508 th victim against Bottesford on 28 August and in the same match Rob and Steve Rendu broke a 31 year old 9 th wicket batting partnership record, having come together at a miserable 50 for 8 and putting together an unbeaten stand of 141 runs, Rendu (left), Baker (right) in the photograph. Rob s achievement gained national recognition in being named Wisden Cricket Magazine s Club Player of the Month and winning a handsome prize. Two centuries by Ian Graham (133 and 114) meant that his 9 centuries for the club since he joined us in 2005 took him clear of the 7 centuries by Shaun King between 1979 and Chairman Richard Drury was at his run accumulating best collecting 77 runs in the 1 st XI (2 innings), 658 in 2 nd XI (13 inns) & 320 in Sunday friendlies (9 inns) for a grand total for the season of 1055 runs at an average of Meanwhile, evergreen Ernie Lay in his 34 th year with the club, moved on to 736 appearances (Dave Baldrey has 774), runs (6195 in the 1 st XI), 355 catches and 49 stumpings. Under 13 s Notts & Newark League Champions Tom Newell number 1 batsman in the League. Three players selected during the season for League representative matches at under 13 age level Isaac Brown, Tom Newell and Joe Nice. Tom and Joe still eligible to play as under 12 s have been invited for County trials. In addition, Ben Healey represented Rushcliffe against Bassetlaw in an Under 13 s District match.
