A note from the President It's great to be back at our beautiful rink! I've traveled to a number of local rinks with my daughter, Juliette, and I can attest that our club is truly a gem. We enjoy figure skating seven days a week from dawn until well past dusk. We re home to recreational and competitive skaters of all ages. We have rich traditions including our Saturday teas and the Great Skate. We're also a community. Many lasting friendships are made here. My goals as president are simple -- attract new members; generate more revenue through Learn to Skate, public sessions, and rentals; and set the club up for success in the years to come. Above all, I want members to be happy. Watch for a Comment Box in the lower lounge, and a survey later in the year. Since our club is run by volunteers, I ask each member to donate a few hours of time this year. (Competitive skater expenses are not insignificant, so the club prides itself on being able to generate some funds to help defray some of the expenses of those members representing PSC&HS in qualifying competition events nationally and internationally.) Our public sessions can make a great fundraiser for your school! Last year we hosted a couple of fifthgrade class fundraisers at our Friday night public sessions. We donated 50% of the admission fees to each class. These fundraisers are an inexpensive way for groups to raise money and a great way to build awareness of our rink. If you know of a group that might enjoy an evening of skating while raising money, contact Mary in the office and ask for an informational brochure. Annual Dues Billing is in the Mail! The annual dues invoices have been mailed out to all Club members. Skating members will see a change in the way that we bill the dues. All Club members (skating or non-skating will see a Member Charge (MBR) and skating privileges are add-ons. Skating Members can take advantage of free group lessons! Members with "skating privileges have the option to take free group lessons during the Winter season (October 11 to April 3, 2016). A skating privilege allows unlimited skating at appropriate sessions. Classes are offered for kids and adults. Stay tuned for class times. Rent the Rink! Looking for something special for your next birthday party, family celebration, or corporate event? Why not rent the rink? Our facility is available for private rentals Saturday evenings for a two-hour minimum rental starting from 5:30 p.m. during the months of September to June. Rentals include ice and lower lounge. Our beautiful second floor lounge overlooking the ice, complete with a roaring fire, is available for an additional charge. Contact the office at for rates and availability.
