1 MINUTES General Meeting - July 11, 2018, 6:30 p.m. Location: Glen Lakes Country Club 1. PRESIDENT: Ron Auger Call to Order - 6:35 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance - New Members and Guests - New Members in June 2018: Irene Lewis Roger Holladay Chuck & Joyce Lary Bill & Carmen Lavin Al & Sandy Vienneau Introduction of Officers - Vice President - Anita Butler Director - Larry Barnhart Secretary - Shirley Jacques Director - Ed Barabas Treasurer - Ray Truitt Director - Ed Upham New Business: By-Laws Revision : The Board of Directors approved an addition to Article VI, Section 6.4.4, as pertains to Angler of the Month Award - Requirements for Submission. The addition states: All fish must be documented on a boat with a ruler, with exception of fish that can t be legally taken out of the water, such as Tarpon and Goliath Grouper. Motion made to accept, seconded and following discussion, was approved by the majority. Revised By-Laws will be posted to the website.

2 2. VICE-PRESIDENT S REPORT: Anita Butler Meeting. Suggestion Forms : No suggestions were turned in at the June general Joint Outing - Weeki Wacky Wednesday Fishing, Kayaking & Picnic, July 18th: Vice-President Anita Butler Treasurer Ray Truitt and Mitch Plaeger It was decided to reschedule the boat and kayak fishing trip to Weeki Wacky Wednesday on August 8th. On July 18th, members will go fishing and scalloping out of Bayport from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a picnic will be held at 2 p.m. 3. SECRETARY S REPORT: Shirley Jacques June 6, 2018 Minutes: Motion made to accept, seconded and approved. Attendance Report: June 6 Meeting Attendance: Members 14 Guests Joining at June Meeting: 8 (2 Individual and 3 Family) Membership Renewals: 4 (2 Individual and 1 Family) Membership Report: As of July 11, Total Members = 158 Memberships (42 Individual, 112 Family and 4 Five-Year Memberships) Mass s : If you aren t receiving mass s concerning our events, which are sent out weekly, please check with the Membership Secretary, Kelly Ricard, at the break to make sure she has your correct address.

3 4. TREASURER S REPORT: Ray Truitt Financial Statement : June 2018 financial report was presented to the membership. 5. UPCOMING EVENTS: Freshwater Fishing Outings: Ed Upham We have a sign-up sheet to ascertain interest in having freshwater fishing outings similar to the boating/kayaking outings we currently hold each month. A member of the club is interested in coordinating this event. Please sign up if you are interested. Ladies Only Social Activities : If you are interested in taking a Line Dancing class in July at the Elks Club located at 9135 Denton Avenue in Hudson, or going on a kayaking trip in August, sign-up. Once we know how many ladies are interested, we will make the necessary arrangements and get back to you. Scalloping Season - July 1-September 24: Mitch Plaeger WWA Scalloping trip is scheduled for July 18th; meet at Bayport at 9 a.m.; Captain Woody will follow us out. Mitch will call everyone who signed up. Cardboard Boat Race : Mitch Plaeger, Committee Chairman This year s event will be held on October 13th at the Hernando Beach Marina. The committee members will meet August 6th at Ray Truitt s home for a potluck dinner. October 10th Fishing Trip Aboard The Thunder: After much discussion, the membership voted to have two fishing trips aboard The Thunder and limit each to 20 people to have more room. The first 20 who signed up and paid for the October 10th trip will go as scheduled. The remaining 10 who signed up, plus 10 more (to include those on the stand-by list)

4 will go out probably in November. Ed Upham will coordinate with The Thunder to set up the second trip. Cost will be $40.00 per person, with the club subsidizing the remaining cost. Annual Picnic : Will be held on October 27th, beginning at 12 Noon, at Linda Pedersen Park. Cost will be $6.00 per person. There is a sign-up sheet for volunteers to help set up. Tickets should be available for sale at the August meeting. Christmas Party : Our party will be on Tuesday, December 11th, here at Glen Lakes. This year, the club will subsidize 50% of the cost for the party. The cost per couple will be $27.00; single cost will be $ We will have a Silent Auction and would appreciate donations by our talented members. Introduction of Guest Speaker: Lori Richards, Marketing, Bay Dermatology Florida Sun and Skin Care ****************** MEETING BREAK 15 MINUTES ***************** 6. PRESIDENT - Called meeting back to order at 7:30 p.m. Anglers of the Month: Freshwater Angler of the Month: None Saltwater Angler of the Month: Chris Otto caught a 41 Kingfish in the Gulf on June 30th. Chris was presented with a Certificate and Gift Card. Jr. Angler of the Month: None

5 Sportsman s Cove Lodge Two-for-One Special: Pamela Longo and Linda Neeley advised the membership of a special being offered August 29-September 2 and September 2-September 7 by Sportman s Cove Lodge in Alaska. Hernando County Commissioner Wayne Dukes: Updated the membership on status of projects of interest to boaters, kayakers and fishermen. Fishing Reports: Captain Joel Gant and Bob DeBatt gave reports. Carnival 5-Night Cuba Cruise : There are currently 10 cabins booked for the cruise. We reserved 16 cabins. President gave info on cost and agenda. Old Business: Don t forget that the Pirate s Table is always in need of barely-used items. Please help by donating those things you no longer need or want. Also, there is no room in the club shed for larges items for the Yard Sale. Ron will check on when the next yard sale at Weeki Wachee Springs is scheduled. Both of these events are real money-makers for the club. 7.
