4 Single of the Week Name: Travis P. Team: The Alcoballics What s His Sign?: Aries Education: Attends College of Southern Nevada hoping to one day be a aesthetician. He wants to make the world a more beautiful place. Enjoys : Travis is an active painter and enjoys knitting his own sweaters. He only wears socks only on his left foot and collects coins. On weekends, you can catch this stud muffin getting his weekly mani/ pedi with his boys, shopping at the mall and sipping martinis while watching Sex & the City reruns. Saturday nights you can catch him strutting his stuff down Fremont Street in his white jeans and sunglasses. What You Should Know: Travis has the nickname Gumby for a reason. His moves are unmatched on the grass and ladies watch out, he may look like a babygiraffe when he runs, but he s got better dance moves than a back up dancer in a Justin Bieber music video. 5 It all began in the fall of 2009; it was my first season, as well as Lindsay s first as NV Lucky s customer service representative. There were only 12 teams. The antics were limited, but there were still antics. Our mid-season party was at a small venue, calledmvp s. I was just getting to know Lindsay and everyone else; I joined kickball to make friends and I did in abundance! At the end of Winter Season 2009, I became the deputy to Lindsay s sheriff. We got to know each other and discovered we had a lot in common and lived pretty close to each other. By Summer Season 2010, things were in full swing and the word was spreading about kickball! It was the second in a long line of season sellouts, 16 teams and 350+ players thanks to Lindsay s hard work and diligence marketing the league around the valley. Remember our articles in The Las Vegas Sun and Seven? The parties blossomed into a pool party with private cabanas at the Red Rock Resort and the massive Las Vegas Country Saloon. Panera Bread at The District had become our spot for soup, salad and girl chat, AKA NV Lucky Board Meetings. Unfortunately, because I was working two jobs, Lindsay and I didn t really get to spend a lot of time together outside of kickball or kickball work. Our relationship as sheriff and deputy worked out pretty well though, since opposites do attract! Everyone knows that I m the extreme extrovert and Lindsay prefers to blend in on the sidelines. I m the loud mouth at the bar announcing it s time for some flip-cup and to put your dolla dolla bills yo in your team s bottle, while she s seated at the bar sipping her chardonnay or heffewizen. Do you know how many times people call me Lindsay?! I m really going to miss her, on and off the field. I m proud to say that Lindsay Hool is one of my best friends. After all, only a true friend will take your cat to the vet so you don t have to miss work and take you to and from the airport! Bye to an Awesome CSR We ll Miss You, Lindsay! 6 Predictions Bobby the Bookie picks the tournament Bobby the Bookie is back and he s ready to make some picks for the upcoming tournament. Let s Get Weird vs. Kicks and Giggles: LGW -2.5 No. 1 vs No It s just one of those things. LGW is just too tough and too much. It s Just Kickball vs. White Lies: ITS -4.5 This is an intriguing matchup. ITS is coming off a forfeit loss last week, which put them in the eight-seed spot and causing a really interesting shake up among the standings. This game should be competitive, as LIE will not just lay down, but in the end we see ITS proving to be too much for Jimmy and Co. Shuck Off vs. Balls of Steal: OFF -3.5 For many of the players on Balls of Steal, it s their first time in the playoffs and we feel the bright lights will affect their ability to overcome their 12th seed. OFF will be on on Wednesday night. Suck My Kick vs Balls Deep : SCK -7 Yes, this is a kickball matchup, not a porn name competition. SCK has had a very battle-tested season, playing the likes of Goldmemberz, Let s Get Werid and Shuck Off three teams in the top 5. This, coupled with the fact that Balls Deep is more like Balls Deep Infield, means SCK should handle this as well and advance to the semifinals. Goldmemberz vs. Nuclear Ballout: GM -7.5 Although GM took a big blow to their lineup this past week with a departure of one of their key players who moved, we feel they still have enough firepower to get past NUC Duh...Winning vs Blue Ballers: BB -0.5 We called it last week with the BB pick to cover and they did, however they just didn t have enough to pull out the W. But in an 11 vs 6 matchup we like the underdogs in this. BlueBallers will get the upset. Bobby the Bookie predicts the team has their work cut out for them in their upcoming game against It s Just Kickball. Bobby the Bookie wins or outings on Field 2 this season (1-2), if BB hits it in the outfield they should get the win. The Alcoballics vs. Drinkers with a Kickball Problem: ALC-2.5 In a relatively even matchup, these two teams are coming in on losing streaks. ALC has lost two in a row and DRK is on a three-game skid. They did face off earlier in the season, with DRK getting the best of them in a Week 4 matchup. We like ALC to come away with this one. Sin City Ballerz vs. Smooth as Eggs : SCB -9.5 Again, a numbers game here. SCB will just be too much for the 15-seed EGG.
