1 SUMMER SPORTS NEWSLETTER Dear Parents/Caregivers, As the end of Term 3 is fast approaching, we need to organise and plan for our participation in Summer Sports for Term 4. This newsletter outlines the sports we are hoping to participate in, details to help ensure families can make informed decisions around summer sports and a tear-off slip for your child to return to school to show your commitment and/or assistance you may be able to provide. During Term 4 we are hoping to offer the following sports. Details Rippa Rugby Flippa Ball/Water Polo Volleyball Available to: Day of play: Start date: All year levels Years 3-6 Year 3-8 Thursdays 3 rd November 7 th December Tuesdays 18 th October 6 th December 28 th October Time: 4pm 6pm 4.00 pm onwards Friday evenings Primary Y1-Y2 Kiwi Volley Year 3&4 Primary Y3 Y4 Year 3/4 League: Kiwi Volley Year 5 & 6 Quick Rip Y5-Y6 Year 5/6 Kiwi Volley Year 7 & 8 Quick Rip Y7-Y8 Venue: Greerton Marist Rugby Club Memorial Pool Year 3/4 Learners Pool Year 5/6 Big Pool Swimming costume All other gear is provided Minimum 7 Maximum ASB Arena or QEYC Stadium Equipment required: Oropi School Polo Sport shoes and drink bottle Oropi School Polo Sport shoes and drink bottle Number of Minimum 7 4 a-side players: Maximum 9 Minimum 6 Fees: $18 per player $60 per player $20 per player Point of To be advised once we Mr McKinnon in Kea Ms Heath in Ruru Contact confirm a team Superstar Cricket Academy Cricket in the Park starts at Pemberton Park on Friday nights on Friday 28th October 5pm-6pm Cost is $25 for the 7 weeks thru to Friday 9th December. Parents can register online - and follow the links thru to Northern Districts / Bay of Plenty then pick Pemberton Park. Pay online and the jobs done! Don Warner is also coming to Oropi School on Monday 12th September for the Cricket Awareness Programme where the children will be given flyers to bring home. Blue Rovers 5 a-side Summer Football Game Days: Tuesday 18th Oct 6th December (8 weeks) at Morland Fox Park, starting at 3:45pm

3 Fair Play In Term 4 we have allocated a teacher to be responsible for each code. At this stage we have confirmed the teacher for Touch Rugby and Flippa Ball. This person will be the point of contact for parents regarding any issues that are not administration related such as fair play or equipment requirements. Please contact Kylie in the office for any administration related queries.
