We are immensely proud as a school and as a community venue to be able to offer high quality sports facilities to our students and to members of the public. 4 News Pay & Play In the New Year we are launching a Loyalty Card for Pay & Play. This allows students to pay for 10 hours and get 12 hours of Play (this programme is available every Friday, and every school holiday). We will also be improving the 5-11 Programme by introducing a sibling rate in our February Half Term Programme. #FamilyFilmFridays We have postponed our #FamilyFilmFridays for the first few months of We will again be looking to develop and re-launch these on a quarterly basis in the New Year. Open Day We are re-scheduling our planned Open Day until the Summer. This will enable us to develop and expand our initial plans to include the All Weather Pitch and outside courtyard spaces. Keep an eye out for a new date and more info!! October Half Term 11-16yrs Pay & Play We have been granted two sums of money from Sport England and Awards For all. It is ideal for drama or dance performances along with large presentations. Gymnasium The gymnasium has over 250 sq metres of sprung flooring with markings for basketball and 5-a-side indoor football. With access to changing and shower facilities. 18 Meet Our Hirers - Garden City Runners Name Bruce Judge Occupation Chairman, Garden City Runners What is your involvement at SFO Sports Centre? Garden City Runners have recently chosen to base our local running club at SFO Sports Centre. As a vibrant growing club, that looks to include and involve the community we took the decision that we wanted to have a home with great facilities and a similar ethos. Favourite thing about SFO Sports Centre? I love the friendly atmosphere and the lovely new facilities What motivates you? Competition! I run because I enjoy the competitive side to it and this often comes out in the rest of my life. I am also motivated by getting the best out of other people and giving something to the community. Favourite Sport: Athletics but I also love anything when it comes to the Olympics. I could watch all of the sports when the Olympics are on. More Information Garden City Runners meet at SFO Sports Centre twice a week for evening training sessions. Tuesday training starts at 6.30pm and includes different ability groups; from those starting out to high intensity speed-work sessions. The Thursday session also starts at 6.30pm and enables different ability groups to go on a long run around the town or countryside. For more info go to:
