1 Registration Check List: Verify information by what is on form by highlighting each line on registration form. If changes are needed in spirit, member must fill out a membership change form. Choose the correct Class ID for the sport. Confirm with the Age Chart for Soccer.(Birthdate must be before Aug.1, 2016 for the Fall 2016 Season. NFL Flag and Volleyball are completed by Grade. Of course spirit goes by age. Let Nathan know if you run into an age issue vs. a grade issue when registering. Let s get them registered without going through the age override process. Confirm with the sport member the: o fee for the sport they choose o age division o registration period we are in. All Fees are included. Share with them Parent Information, Additional Sports Information, How sports Communicates with them. Registration Form: 1. Player information printed clearly 2. Parent/Guardian Information. Printed clearly 3. Requests for Soccer Only. Flag FB is on Thursdays, Volleyball is on Wednesdays. 4. Volunteer: Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Referee or Team Manager. 5. Why It Matters: Would they be interested in offering a monetary gift. (Read the form with the blurp). 6. Waiver and Agreement. Signed. 7. Staff only Box. If not applicable, write N/A. This ensures all was covered during the process. Uniform/Jersey: For Volleyball, NFL Flag Football, U4-U5-U6-U8 Soccer ask them to mark their T- Shirt/Jersey size. For U10-U19 Soccer; ask them if they need a blue/yellow soccer kit. The kit includes blue/white, yellow/white jerseys, shorts, and socks. If they need a uniform, they must purchase as option class. It is required for the program. If it is an age override, use the credit card agreement form on back of registration form; they must submit Payment regardless of avenue before they can be registered. Do not take any hard copy registration form without payment. This sheet must be accompanied by the registration form. Staple together, Registration Form and place in your folder as normal. Give the sports member all of packet except this page and registration/credit card page to take with them as they may need to refer back to the information. 4 FALL SEASON 2016 PARENT INFORMATION: SOCCER, Y/NFL FLAG FOOTBALL, Y/CAJ VOLLEYBALL WHY THE Y? The Y Recreational Youth Sports philosophy is unique. We emphasize good sportsmanship, teamwork, our core values; Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, fellowship with others, alongside with teaching sport specific skills of each sport. The Y has a modified league format to help ensure this philosophy is fostered: FOR SOCCER AND FLAG FOOTBALL, NO TRY-OUTS OR CUTS FOR VOLLEYBALL, TRY-OUTS ONLY FOR UPPER DIVISIONS, NO-CUTS, PLAYERS STILL WILL BE PLACED IN THE APPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENTAL ENVIRONMENT EACH PLAYER PLAYS A MINIMUM OF HALF A GAME MODIFIED GAME RULES THAT HELP YOUR CHILD DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS REFEREES/VOLUNTEERS WHO COACH WHEN ENFORCING THE RULES OF THE GAME GAME INFORMATION: Soccer: Games will be played either at Cherokee Outdoor Y, JJ Biello Riverside or Ball Ground for U4-U8. U10-U14 Home Games will be played at JJ Biello Riverside (Cherokee County), Cherokee Outdoor Y, and Ball Ground; Hubert, Custer & Tramore Parks (Cobb County for Away Games). U16-U19 Games will be played at JJ Biello for home games, however, GA Soccer schedules regionally for away games. Y/NFL Flag Football: Games will be played for all divisions primarily at Etowah River Park in Canton. Some games may be played at Cherokee Outdoor Y. Y/CAJ Volleyball: Games will be primarily played at the G.Cecil Pruett Family YMCA. Some games may be played at Cobb PRACTICE INFORMATION: Each team practices once a week for one hour. Soccer: Cherokee Outdoor Y: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday options. Ball Ground: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday options. JJ Biello Riverside: Monday, Wednesday, Friday options. Y/NFL Flag Football: Practices on Thursdays at Etowah River Park. Y/CAJ Volleyball: Practices on Wednesdays at G.Cecil Pruett Y. UNIFORMS: Soccer: U4-U6 receive a t-shirt, U8 will receive a wicken shirt and U10 older receive two jerseys, shorts and socks. Must order if you need a new uniform or you are a new player for Fall Flag Football: NFL Reversible Jersey, Mouth Piece. Y/CAJ Volleyball: T-shirt All will be handed out at your 2 nd practice. 5 FALL SEASON 2016 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: SOCCER, Y/NFL FLAG FOOTBALL, Y/CAJ VOLLEYBALL Financial Assistance: Financial Assistance is available based on need. Applications must be received by July 27 th for ALL SPORTS. For questions in regards to Financial Assistance, please contact Gretchen gretchenr@ymcaatlanta.org Withdrawal/Refunds/Transfers: Please inform the Sports Office (nathanp@ymcaatlanta.org) if you are withdrawing your child from a sport for any reason, please note, there is a $15.00 processing fee that will be charged for any withdrawal prior to 1 st game. Uniforms are non-refundable. After uniforms are ordered, For Soccer: there will be an additional $30.00 fee to switch a team (Register wisely). Capacity Numbers: Registration may end prior to Regular Registration ending for the specific sport registration dates due to maximum registration numbers. Please register early as we are framing teams as registrations are taken either hard copy or online. The earlier you register, the better chance you have of your request to being honored for Soccer. Equipment: All participants must wear the issued uniform for their sport specific or players will not be able to participate. Soccer participants are required to wear shin guards inside their socks, no jewelry of any kind for any player will be allowed (it is required to take earrings out for the young players). NFL Flag participants must wear a mouth piece during practices and games or they will not be permitted to participate. Volleyball will defer to CAJ. The YMCA reserves the right to adjust, combine, add, or remove age divisions for all seasons for all sports. SOCCER The YMCA allows our Facility and Program Members request a coach, buddy or practice day, however, this is not guaranteed. Requests will only be allowed thru the Regular Registration Period. **Requests will only be honored after the Regular Registration period if there is space** For Uniforms: If you are in U10 and above soccer only, you do not need to purchase a new uniform if your current kit fits your child (Blue/Yellow Jerseys, shorts and socks). The Y/NFL FLAG FOOTBALL The Y and NFL Flag Football conduct seasonal evaluations. This is required for team placement of each player. There are no requests accepted for this program. Each team will be allowed to stay together for one sports calendar year beginning Spring Please note that player adjustment is a possibility for program parity. Our goal is to maximize each players fullest potential. The Y/COBB ATLANTA JUNIORS VOLLEYBALL The Y and Cobb Atlanta Juniors conduct seasonal evaluations. This is required for placement of each player. There are no requests accepted for this program. Each player is placed in the environment suited for their development.
