Welcome to Hibiscus Coast to Memorial park both 1st and Reserve teams. I missed the game at their grounds in round one so will be looking forward to todays second round clash. With the season coming to a close these last home games become very important for a top placing finish so I am sure both lots of supporters will enjoy the game. Last weeks game against Mangere probably didn't go to plan but I believe it was eventful both on and off the park. Not the sort of behaviour a visiting club would expect from a 1st division Mangere United NRFL club side. The weather again has caused havoc with cancellations and transfers. Thanks to all involved in the disruption. The club website has some events coming up for all aged members. Please get in behind them and we will see if we can do more on and off the field of this type. See you in the stand for the second to last NRFL last home game of the season and the final home game against Waitakere City currently unbeaten. Lets see what we can do about that! Kerry Bevan President
A WORD FROM THE CLUB MANAGER Afternoon to all, As we head into the final straight of our season I d like to thank all teams with their efforts fundraising and representing our fine club with pride each and every week. Good luck to all teams in the Rewa blue and gold this week! Any questions or to enter Quiz: clubmanaer@manurewaafc.org.nz Thank you again to all the supporters! Kieran Nevey Club Manager 27 August Vs Waitakere RESERVES KICK OFF 12.30PM FIRST TEAM KICK OFF 3PM
Reserve Coaches Comments Welcome to Hibiscus Coast today. Unfortunately our good run of results came to an abrupt end last week with a very very very veryyyy poor performance against Mangere. I am sure the boys will be looking to rectify that result today against hibiscus coast. The game against Mangere did show me a few things. Firstly, in viewing a few other local clubs, we are in a great position to lead the way football should be played and how a club should be run in South Auckland. One thing to remember... We shouldn't set our standards low. We need to aim high on and off the pitch, get our facilities first class and work hard to be a true leading light in the football scene. All the best to all the other teams playing today. Cheers. Marty

First Team Coaches Comments Today we welcome Hibiscus Coast to Memorial Park. The first round matchup saw us able to take advantage in a tight match against a vulnerable Hibiscus Coast side, having just been stripped of points. Today we expect another close encounter with conditions underfoot always making games here a leveller. After a draw last week against Mangere where, on another day, we could ve walked away with a comfortable win, we find ourselves in a position to battle for pride and possibly more. A win would keep us in mathematical contention for promotion, as well as ahead of the chasing pack, so it s crucial that we come out today and play for the win. Ultimately I hope that results in an exciting game for the spectators. See you at the bar after the game. Nathan Christie

SENIOR REPORT Warm welcome to HBC, Last week we were at Mangere & held to a 1-1 draw! We had plenty of chances but wasn't our day. No point dwelling in the last we move on to today's fixture. The reserves were beaten 6-3 again not a game that went as plane, going up 2 nil early and then 6-3 not the way Marty wanted but it comes down to self accountability by players! Over 35's lost on the weekend 4 zip to Metro Coach Gigsy wasn't impressed, but lack of training may be the cause but when our fields are out of action we can only do so much! Good luck to The teams Kind Regards Bhupinder Singh Birthday wishes to Heather Hart (Logans mum) from the SMC and the DBC lads.
Youth Report Last weekend saw yet another weekend of postponements which is stretching out our season. Many more disruptions and we will still be playing into September so fingers crossed we get an improvement in this weather. With the above in mind, we ask that all coaches check their fixtures carefully especially those earlier postponements to see when they have been re-fixtured. Next Saturday, 13 August, we have a fun day here at Memorial Park from 9.30am to 2pm. Come on down and have some fun bouncy castle, obstacle course, giveaways and a bbq. Show up in your strip for a free sausage. In the evening, we have a Quiz night for the Senior members. Tables $150/max of 10. Get your team together. clubmanager@manurewaafc.org.nz to book your table. Over the season, we have put a number of people through the Club Based Referee Course. These people volunteer their time on a Saturday morning/afternoon to help coaches with their games. We congratulate you all and thank you for putting your time back into our Club. Best of luck to all Rewa teams today. Laurette Hummels Youth Chairperson The last Player of the Day presentation for the season will be held on Saturday 27 August.
Last weekend saw most of the team missing games, with no Small Whites and the majority of the 9th & 10th postponed due to the fields being too wet. The lucky few that played had a mixture of sun and showers just to keep them on their toes. The forecast for this weekend isn t too flash either but lets hope the weather gurus got it wrong and all teams got to have a run. There is a Club Fun day coming up next Saturday the 13th which all players are welcome to come to... see the flyers around the clubroom for more details. There is also a Quiz Night that evening for the adults to have a laugh andtest their grey matter. Just a reminder about getting your money back for the chocolates, please contact your coach or committee for further info or extra boxes. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Junior Committee
