2 1 24th EUROPEAN COARSE ANGLING CHAMPIONSHIP th 22nd July 2018 // Radeče, Slovenia INTRODUCTION Slovenia is a country located on sunny side of Alps. It's known for it's picturesque nature, clean waters and is a biodiversity hotspot. This area is influenced by several big geographical elements Alps, Pannonian Plain, Dinaric Alps and Mediterranean Sea.

3 2 Radeče is a small town with approximately 2500 inhabitants. The town lies under the castle hill at the confluence of river Sava with Savinja river and stream Sopota. It is surrounded with 700 to 1200 metres high hills. Radeče lies in central Slovenia; the distance from the capital Ljubljana is of about 80 kilometres, same distance from Zagreb (capital of Croatia), about 180 kilometres from Triest, Italy, and 100 kilometres from Brnik, the biggest airport in the Country.

4 3 24 th EUROPEAN COARSE ANGLING CHAMPIONSHIP The two main rivers that confluate into the town Radeče are Sava and Savinja. Sava springs in Julian Alps near tri-border of Slovenia, Austria and Italy. Savinja springs in Carnic Alps. Thanks to the snow melting, it is possible to fish there since the end of May until the beginning of December. Sava flows through Zasavje Region for about 30 kilometres, in a widing canyon which gets into the Radeče plain. Afterwards, the rivers continuoes its stream through the Hotemez village and the absorption lake of the hydroelectric station of Vrhovo. FISHING VENUE The venue lies upstream from the Fishing club Radeče to the confluence of Sava and Sopota in Radeče. The river is mostly populated of vimba bream and also with barbel, carp, bream, bleak and roach.

5 4 The venue is modernised every year and the Fishing club of Radeče adds every year a stock of juvenile autochthonous fish species. Sector A and B (near Fishing club): depht of water: 4.5 m at 13 m from bank; sector C: sector D and E (in Radeče): depht of water: 7.5 m at 13 m from bank; depht of water: between 3 and 7 m at 13 m from bank. All sectors are can be reached by vehicles.

In this brochure you can find a list of possible accommodation in radius of 25 kilometres from the fishing venue. NOTICE: On the 1 st captains' meeting every team must bring a copy of official application form with the indication of the address where team is lodging in Slovenia. Every team must pay to organizer a fee of 1.450,00. Fee includes: F.I.P.S.e.d. fee of 150, 9 tickets for banquet (it'll be possible to get additional tickets for 50 each), 6 fishing cards for trainings, insurance for competitors. 9 8 ACCOMMODATION In Radeče there are no hotels, but nearby the town there are two big hotels with pools and natural thermal water. The teams that participated in the last championships also lodged n holiday cottages and mountain hostels. Offer is diverse and suitable for every pocket. You can find below the organizer's recommended accommodation list. Teams must arrange accommodation on their own, because, as we already said, the organizer is not obligated to offer an official accommodation. There are many different shops and restaurants near fishing venue. 10 9 GROUNDBAITS and BAITS Each competitor is allowed to have 20 l of groundbaits, including earth, gravel, corn maize, wheat, hempseed, etc. and other additives that are not toxic for the fauna and the water environment. Prepared groundbaits must be in buckets with scale. Each competitor is allowed to have 2.5 liters of baits, of which a maximum amount of 1 liter can be aquatic larvae (jokers and bloodworms). In any case the maximum amount of bloodworms can be 0.25 liter. A maximum amount of 0.5 liter of earthworms, entire and not cut, is allowed in the total baits. The organizer allowes use of mixed color maggots. At the control, baits must be presented in mesuarable containers. Maximum lenght of fishing pole is 13 m. Obligatory use of 3.5 m long net.
