1 Chapter12: Board Approved Chartered Club P&Ps Chapter 12.1 General Information. Amends: Chapter 2, Paragraph 2.5 Eligibility: CC Membership is open to any male Association Member with a valid Association Activity Card. Chapter 12.2 CCEB Officers [As specified in Chapter 3 Charter Club Executive Board (CCEB): The CC shall identify specific officers, including duties in Section 12.0 of the CC P&Ps and that section requires the approval of the Lifestyles Manager. Only those elected officers with a vote on the CCEB shall be included as CCEB Members. ] Amends: Chapter 3.0, Paragraph 3.1 Officers The Officers of this club shall be: President, Immediate Past-President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Handicap Director, Pairing Director, Membership Director, Web Master, Tournament Director, Registration Director, Social Events Chairmen (2), 3:00 Group Coordinating Directors (2), and Bulletin Board Chairman. Amends: Chapter 3.0, Paragraph Elections and Term of Office ELECTIONS All of the Officers of this club shall be elected by the members of this Club except for the position of Immediate Past-President. If the Office of Immediate Past President is vacated for any reason, it shall stay vacant for the remainder of the term. 2 Chapter 12.3 CCEB Officers Duties Men s Nine Hole Golf Club PRESIDENT Must be a full time SCG resident to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of this position. Be thoroughly familiar with the SCG Chartered Club Policies and Procedures. Conduct all CCEB meetings, exercise general supervision, enforce the Charter Club s (CC) P&Ps and provide direction for the CC. Communicate in a timely and effective manner to all necessary SCG organizations (e.g. SCG Board of Directors, Activities Office, Grand Times, Pro Shops, etc.) in oral and written forms. Work directly with the Pro Shops to help them review and plan the Club s scheduled use of the SCG golf facilities. This includes any special Club golf activities such as the Pebble Creek and Fun Day. Determine the upcoming year s schedule and plan needed Room Reservations: General Meetings, CCEB meetings and social events. Coordinate reservations with the Activities Office for final approval. Communicate same to members of CCEB. Work with the Tournament Director to plan all of the club s tournaments and special game events. Ensure Grand Times, Website, Club s Bulletin Board, and Newsletter information are correct and kept up to date. Plan an Annual Budget, with the Treasurer, for CCEB and membership approval. Hold monthly CCEB and, as needed, any CCEB approved committee meetings. Work with the Secretary to both prepare an agenda for all meetings and assure that all invitees receive them prior to the meeting, for review purposes. Attend the monthly SCG CC Presidents Meetings and review the information with the CCEB PAST -PRESIDENT Attends all CCEB monthly meetings and offers sound advice and counsel VICE PRESIDENT Act in the absence of the President assuming those same duties and responsibilities. Be responsible for establishing the Nomination Committee each year and ensure the committee follows the requirements defined in SCG Chartered Club P&P, Chapter 3.4. Nov 15, 2017 Page 2

3 Act as the CC Communicator: Periodically prepare written information about the club and its activities to the SCG Grand Times. Represent the club at visitor/resident functions e.g. New Resident orientation meeting, New Golfer Orientation, Oktoberfest, and others as determined by the CCEB. Provide information to the Activities Office and Club s Web Master as needed SECRETARY Prepare and publish the monthly CCEB meeting agenda topics. (Agenda topics should be organized so as to discuss Membership and Financial Status Reports first, then old business followed by Committee reports and any new business last.) Prepare and publish the minutes of all General membership and monthly CCEB meetings; publish them to the CCEB members. (Minutes should include location, date and time of the meeting, CCEB Members present, a record of each motion and the results (votes) of each motion. Action or Follow up items should specifically identify who is doing what by when.) Maintain an electronic, master copy of this Club s Charter Policies and Procedures. It will contain the Club s specific policies/procedures and Officer duties in Chapter 12 AND club specific member rules in Chapter 13 Club Specific Rules: Membership Rules, Membership Application and Playing Rules. Maintain all other important official records such as forms that were completed and submitted: Club Authorization, old Bylaws, Annual Budget, etc. Assist the President in the preparation and submission of Form CCF-5, Executive Board Members, whenever a CCEB member Officer changes. Maintain and submit to the SCG Activities office, the previous 6 month s SCG Club Form 10, Participation Report, due after Jan 1 and July TREASURER Prepare the budget, receive and deposit all monies for the CC and submit all required financial reports as required: Maintain detailed accounting of all CC income and expense transactions. Record entries must note the source and purpose of each. Example: Dues, Social events, etc. Expenses: Who and what it was for, etc. Maintain a spreadsheet of each member check received from the Membership Director: Member Name, Amount, Check Number and date received. Reconcile this payment list with the Membership Nov 15, 2017 Page 3

4 list of active members and report any discrepancies. (Months from January thru May are the most important.) Deposit all checks and monies received from the Membership Director as soon as possible and not later than 10 days from receipt. Retain copies of all bank deposit slips and all purchase invoices in an organized folder by month. Prepare and present two month-end reports for the CCEB monthly meeting: (1) A financial summary of each month s Income and Expenses and (2) a banking reconciliation between the Wells Fargo account and the Club s set of books. Prepare an Annual financial statement (CCF-7 Financial Statement) for CAM and include the current and prior year copies of the bank s year end statements. Prepare an Annual Budget with input from the President. Present this information to the membership for approval. Include a copy for CAM with the CCF-7 form. Receive any Tournament and/or special Game winning information from the Tournament Director. These lists should detail the player names/cam numbers and award amount information. Write and deliver checks to the appropriate SCG Pro Shop to secure gift cards and/or an account credit. Receive from the Club President authorization to secure gift cards from the SCG Pro Shop to be used as door prizes awarded at upcoming CC Banquets (or other special events). The Social Event Chairmen, in order to secure the room AND services with the CAM Activities Office, will send the reservation details (i.e. bar tenders, beer quantity, soda, etc.), the pre-paid payment amount due, and the pre-paid due date to the Treasurer. Make a check payment to CAM for each event directly at their office, which is required 30 days prior to the event date. At the CCEB approved banquet and dinner events, prepare a check payment to any vendor that provided goods and/or services for that event. Maintain and secure any needed supplies used in the performance of the financial duties such as banking checks, envelopes to mail invoices, postage, etc. Reimburse, by check: Any CCEB officer that expensed their own funds under $500, for the purpose of CC business, upon submission of the proper invoice. Amounts over $500, require approval of the President; over $1000, approval of the CCEB and that check must be signed by two bank authorized officers. Nov 15, 2017 Page 4

5 HANDICAP DIRECTOR Weekly, retrieve from the DS lockbox, completed scorecards turned in by CC members that finished playing a scheduled event. (Also, any SCG scorecards submitted by new members that may need extra rounds to meet the minimum scores required to earn a handicap.) Enter all member scores into the Handicap file, a historical master file. Calculate handicaps and retain these records by performing a Handicap File backup. The Handicap system backup process also sends a copy via to both the Web Master and the Pairings Director. [The Handicap System 2010 and Tournament Manager 2010 (used by the Pairings Director) are each standalone programs, but the 2 programs work together.] Annually receive and pay the software vendor, Golf Software.com for their software services (Website, mass , online backup, and /phone support.) Forward the invoice to the Treasurer for reimbursement PAIRING DIRECTOR The Sign-up file on the Men s 9ers website and the member guest lists (if any) are used to manually register players in the following events: - Regular Weekly Pairings Winter Season - Regular Weekly Pairings Summer Season - Tournaments/Contests Such As: - Best Ball - Scrambles - Red, White and Blue - Yellow Ball - Tournaments Such As: - Presidents Cup - Club Championship - Regular Weekly Pairings on day of Outside Tournament Play - Fun Day Player handicaps are read from a restored file received via from the Handicap Director. The Tournament Manager program is run to create the player pairings i.e. four, or less, specific players assigned to unique scheduled tee times. Nov 15, 2017 Page 5

6 For all of the above days of Play, the Pairings Director will have created Registration Sheets and Pairings Sheets which are then provided for use by Registration Table personnel and the relevant Clubhouse. An Alpha Registration file and Pairings Sheet file are sent to the Web Master for posting to the online website. All of these documents will be presented, in a labeled package, to the relevant Clubhouse after the 12:30 and 3:00 PM pairings are completed, but no later than 2:00 PM on the Sunday before Monday s play. Scorecards with the printed player names will also be provided to the Registration Table for distribution to each tee time group when they sign in. Outside Tournament pairings will be done by a Club Volunteer. On this same day, the Elected Pairings Director, as indicated above, will do the Regular 12:30 and 3:00 Pairings. The Pairings Director will be responsible for ordering supplies: Scorecards, paper, printer ink, etc. Receipts for such items will be presented to the Club s Treasurer for reimbursement MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR Retrieve Application forms and/or member dues (checks) from the Desert Springs club s lock box or delivered directly by the USPS. Process each Application form by making sure all information required is adequate. (Contact member to resolve any incomplete data on an Application.) Update the Membership File by inputting all member information into the CC database using the Roster Administration software. Update the Membership Control List (spreadsheet) with name, date received, amount received, member check number, date sent to Treasurer, etc. Transfer all monetary funds received to the Treasurer along with a list of which members paid their dues and the amount. For new members: Order, pickup and distribute member name tags. Provide New Member Orientation : Provide new members with a copy of the hand out material: Nov 15, 2017 Page 6

7 o o Welcome back letter from the club President Welcome to the SCG Men s Nine Hole Golf Club Help the NEW member find at least one member in his foursome for that day. Walk the member thru the computer process from check-in thru sign-up and cancellation. Guide new members to the proper person to answer any specific questions. Membership data (excluding CAM numbers) is accessible to all members via the online Website. New Member information is automatically ed to the Handicap Director, Pairings Director and to other CCEB officers via a report process. Ensure that the club s information slot in the Sonoran Plaza has sufficient quantities of Club handouts. Whenever necessary, update the Membership Rules and Membership Application form information. These both serve as a general guide explaining membership requirements, dues, etc. Forward an electronic copy of any changes to the Web Master for updating of the web copy. Ensure an ample supply of forms is maintained in the Desert Springs CC box. Forward an electronic copy of any changed form to the Web Master for updating of the web copy WEB MASTER The Web Master organizes and maintains the CC website that covers a variety of club related subjects such as golfing schedules, rules, member information, etc. that are meant to communicate to, and assist club members. The software vendor, Homestead Technologies, Inc. hosts this website. The website is organized into 3 general themes: Theme 1 of 3: Golf Signup & Pairings How Members signup for golf: The Web Master sets up the Club s next scheduled golf event by changing the information i.e. screen boxes (course, date and time) where member s go onto the website to register for the new event. (Members just have to enter their name and system validates they are in the Member data base.) Note: Only Club Member s in good standing can register to play. Member registration for golf activities is open (available to members) prior to each event until the controlled cutoff time for new registrations is reached. Nov 15, 2017 Page 7

8 Tee Time Pairings: As members register, their names are saved in a system Sign-up file. The Pairings Director accesses this file to create each new player s pairings list The Web Master receives two new pairings files from the Parings Director an Alpha Player List & Pairings Sheet. Minor edit and format tweaks are applied, and it is then imported using an update link. Theme 2 of 3: Club Operations & Rules The Web Master maintains (creates links to) a list of topics (screen menus) that cover the club s managing activities and member rules. Currently they include: Member Application form Membership Rules Club Officers Board Meeting Minutes Playing Rules Membership List Member Master file is maintained by the Membership Director Club Calendar of all Events Shows dates of BOD meetings, banquets, tournaments, etc. Member Handicaps Master file maintained weekly by Handicap Director. We Care contact information Theme 3 of 3: Bulletin Board - General Club information Post website messages that cover typical club announcements such as the golf clinic schedule, past tournaments winners, registration volunteer information, etc. Inform the Bulletin Board Chairman of any website changes that need to be posted for members that don t use computers. Maintain the Club s relationship with the website vendor: Homestead website design software that controls the appearance and content of every web page. 1 and 1 Internet, Inc. website host and database edit/updating TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR Work with the President to plan all of the Club s tournaments and special team game events. Forward upcoming tournament event information for posting on the Web and Bulletin Board. Nov 15, 2017 Page 8

9 Determine method of play, rules to determine winners (tie breakers) and, if necessary, prizes for each event. Coordinate with the Social Chairman for any room and food accommodations, when necessary. Run each tournament (with any needed assistance) including rules unique to each event, pretournament communication to the golfers, tally final score cards, and determine players deserving awards. Prepare a list of winning player names: Name, Amount, and CAM number (for account credit only) of each winner s prize. Provide a copy of this list to the Web Master and Treasurer REGISTRATION DIRECTOR (RD) Every club s golf event needs a Registration Table. The RD oversees the Registration Table where member s first show up and Check-in for that day s play. The Pairings Director created both Registration and Pairings Sheets for use by the Registration Table personnel (and the relevant Clubhouse). The day of play the RD provides Member Volunteers with written instructions detailing what they need to do to register member players. These volunteers are positioned outside the course clubhouse to assist members checking in for golf at the Registration Table. Scorecards are also provided to the Registration Table for distribution to the players. Ten minutes before players are released for play; the RD oversees the audit of the Club s sign-in register with the Pro Shop s payments and no-shows and reconciles any differences. This ensures that players who check in at the table: (1) paid their green fees and (2) that walk-on s paid (as they would be playing "under the Pro Shop s radar". For no-shows, (3) did they cancel with the Pro-shop as they are asked to do. NOTE: 1 and 2 are lack of payment issues that the course should resolve directly with the players. (3) No shows that failed to cancel are no longer fined. Obtains contest (e.g. closest to the hole on par 3 greens) signs from the course and prepares the cards that go in each sign (designed for players to record their name). Coordinate the distribution of all special contest signs e.g. Closet to pin to the appropriate foursomes. (Each foursome will be asked to either place a contest sign next to, or pick up a sign from, a specific green.) After each round, take out the completed cards, from the contest signs returned to the course, and determine winners. Nov 15, 2017 Page 9

10 Handout contest prizes to the prior week s winners at the next scheduled pre-play event meeting. Secure contest award prizes (e.g. sleeves of golf balls) from Desert Springs Pro Shop on a periodic basis. Keep an inventory of the prizes obtained. Let the Treasurer know the date and quantity of award prizes obtained from the Pro Shop SOCIAL EVENTS CHAIRMEN Make reservation arrangements for rooms with the CAM Activities Office and catering services with a caterer based on the Club President s planned schedule of General Meetings (banquets), large luncheons, and social events. Secure SCG room AND services with the CAM Activities Office. Also, send the reservation details i.e. bar tenders, beer quantity, soda, etc.), the pre-paid payment amount due, and the pre-paid due date, to the Treasurer. (CAM requires payments be made to their office 30 days prior to the event date.) Prepare a Member Event Signup sheet to be used (at the weekly sign-in table) when collecting member money for those signing up to attend a specific CCEB approved event. Save and use the Member Event Signup sheet later when validating member payment, at the event entrance, for each person attending the event. Transfer all monies collected from member payments over to the Treasurer. Make reservations for the annual CCEB officer s Appreciation Dinner and request CCEB approval for the date and budgeted amount. For small special social events, obtain small prizes and/or condiments as necessary and provide the Treasurer with the proper receipts of any income and expenses for personal reimbursement :00 GROUP COORDINATING DIRECTORS (2) Run the member player Registration Table and distribute score cards to the players. Annually, work with the Tournament Director to obtain the winning names of the players, order new name plates and, when received, hang the updated Tournament Plaque. Chapter 12.4 Club Activity Supervision, Rules and Safety Amends: Chapter 6.0 Club Activity Supervision, Rules and Safety Paragraph Guests As stated in the Club s General Membership Rules : RESIDENT GUESTS Men that are residents of Sun City Grand may participate three times as guests in the Men s Nine Hole Golf League, after which they must join the League as dues paying members. All guests must pay the required golf fees. NON-RESIDENT GUESTS and HOUSEHOLD GUESTS A Non-Resident or Household guest must be accompanied by a member in good standing and can play three times in a season as a guest, but will not qualify for membership nor will they be allowed to participate in Tournament Play. 13 Chapter 13: Club Specific Rules 13.1 SCG MEN s NINE HOLE CLUB - APPLICATION FORM Sun City Grand Men s Nine Hole Golf Club Men s Nine Hole Golf.All the fun in half the time! Membership Application Our club is open to all male residents in good standing of Sun City Grand. Desert Springs is considered our home course, but all SCG courses are utilized during the year. Winter play We play 9 holes of golf each Monday instead of the usual 18. Following the annual over-seeding, your 9-hole playing choices begin either at 12:30PM or 3:00PM shotgun starts. Summer play begins with a 7:00AM shotgun start. Both 18-hole and 9-hole playing options are offered during the summer months. 15 MEN S 9ERS NEW FOR 2017 SIGN-UP DEADLINE & STANDBY SHEET STARTING THIS WINTER SEASON NOVEMBER 1, 2017 THRU APRIL 30, :30 PLAY ONLY OVERVIEW Members that Sign-Up by the new Tuesday 2:00 PM closing deadline will be included in the Pairings posted on our Website - you will be guaranteed play provided you report to the Registration Table by 11:55 AM on the day of play. If You Miss the Sign-Up Deadline You Still Have the Opportunity to Play - Do As Follows: - Enter your name on the Standby Sheet which opens on our Website, after 2:00 PM on Tuesday, and remains open until 6:00 PM on Sunday. Although being on the Standby Sheet will not guarantee play, you will most likely (except for the busiest weeks of the Winter Season) be able to play with the Club. NOTE: As a stand by, you must not report to the Registration Table or Clubhouse before 11:15 AM on Monday morning as club volunteers will be busy determining which holes/slots the Standby players will be assigned to, creating scorecards, etc. prior to that time. 3:00 PLAY ONLY Sign-up will remain as Is. 16 13.2 SCG MEN s NINE HOLE CLUB - MEMBERSHIP RULES 10/16/17 GENERAL MEMBERSHIP RULES MEN S 9 HOLE GOLF CLUB ELIGIBILITY: You must be a resident of Sun City Grand and have paid all applicable dues, including the yearly Sun City Grand activity fee. You must apply for membership by submitting a completed application form along with the required membership fee for the yearly dues (currently $30.00). Due's are payable on an annual basis, January 1 thru December 31 each year. Residents joining June 1 thru September will pay $20 plus $6.00 for name tags.) Residents joining in October or later will pay $30 plus $6.00 for name tag but membership will be good for the following calendar year. Members are required to establish a handicap to be eligible to play in club tournaments. A handicap will be established after five scores have been attested to and posted. Failure to establish a handicap with five scores shall make a member ineligible for tournament competition. HOW TO SIGN-UP: We use on line sign up for all Niner play. The instructions for signing up are: On the home page, click on the "button" for signing up for the event. You will be asked to provide a username and password. They are: USERNAME: mens9hole PASSWORD: getiton1 Be sure to tell your computer to remember the username and password. Next, click on the "sign up" link on the upper left side of the page. Next, type in your last name (or a portion of your last name) in the text box and click enter. A list will pop up including you name. If your name is listed, then click on your name. You should be signed up. Double check the list to make sure that your name is entered on the bottom of the list. Nov 15, 2017 Page 16

17 (If you are not computer literate or do not have access to one, it is permissible to have another member sign you up to play.) Please remember to only sign up for either 12:30PM play or 3:00PM play, not both! ARRIVAL TIME: This further highlights instructions contained in the Club s new Sign-Up, etc. Document which starts with the Winter Season. 12:30 Play - Sign-Up Sheet 1. Sign-Up by the Tuesday 2:00 PM closing deadline and you will be included in the Pairings posted on our Website; and you will be guaranteed play provided you report to the Registration Table ( RT ) by 11:55 AM. A. The 11:55 AM deadline will give RT volunteers flexibility - especially during the busiest times of the year. 12:30 Play - Standby s and Walk-Ons 1. Standby and Walk-On members must not report to the RT or Clubhouse ( CH ) before 11:15 AM on Monday morning. A. RT volunteers will be busy determining which holes/slots these members will be assigned; plus, they will be able to create scorecards, etc. prior to that time. 3:00 Play 1. There are no changes to 3:00 Play as it will remain as is. ESTABLISHING A HANDICAP: A handicap will be established after 5 nine hole scores have been attested to and posted in our handicap system. Please note that a # of 12 will be put in as a new member s handicap in the pairings until the required 5 rounds are recorded. This assists in balancing foursomes vs. putting in 0 as a handicap for a new member. In addition to scores recorded by way of Men s 9er play, 9 hole scores from non-club play at Sun City Grand courses may also be recorded in our handicap system to assist in reaching the required 5 scores. If a new member plays 18 holes, two 9 hole scores can be recorded. Keep in mind that the rounds must be played from the yellow tees and the scores must be attested to by a playing partner. Your full, easy to read, name must be on the scorecard; and the scorecard must be placed in the club s slot at Desert Springs. PRESIDENT S CUP and CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENTS: Nov 15, 2017 Page 17

18 You must have an established handicap to be eligible to play in these 2 week tournaments. BEST BALL, SCRAMBLE, SHAMBLE, and RED, WHITE, BLUE GAMES ( etc.) You do not need an established handicap to play in these games. RANGE BALLS: Each Sun City Grand Course provides our membership with small bucket of warm-up range balls per week. Warming up with more balls would perhaps take away the opportunity of some of our members to warm up and have access to the driving range. Let s be courteous and thoughtful to our fellow members. GUEST PRIVILEGES: The guest privileges set forth in the Sun City Grand Community Association, Rules, Regulation and Procedures shall govern guest privileges for this Club. RESIDENT GUESTS: Men that are Residents of Sun City Grand, may participate three times as guests in the Men's Nine Hole Golf League, after which they must join the League as dues paying members. All guests must pay the required golf fees. NON-RESIDENT GUESTS and HOUSEHOLD GUESTS: A Non-Resident or Household guest must be accompanied by a member in good standing and can play three times in a season as a guest, but will not qualify for membership nor will they be allowed to participate in Tournament Play. 19 13.3 SCG MEN s NINE HOLE CLUB - RULES OF PLAY Club Rules of Play - ** Amended January, SCORE KEEPING: The player whose name is at the top of each scorecard shall be the designated captain. The captain is responsible for the accuracy of all scores. Scoring errors could call for player disqualification. The card must be signed and witnessed. 2. TEE CHOICE: Members have the option of playing from THE VINTAGE (YELLOW), FORWARD (RED) OR from the EXECUTIVE (ORANGE) tees. NOTE: if you decide to switch your play to either the red or orange tees, you MUST play from the same tee through DECEMBER 31 (for handicap reasons). 3. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STROKES: shall be no more than double par for that hole. 4. "HIT WHEN READY" rule applies at all tee boxes. 5. "MULLIGAN'S": One mulligan can be taken on drives only; the mulligan ball must then be played. Mulligan s are not eligible for closest-to-the-pin award. 6. NO PROVISIONAL BALLS shall be hit. 7. PUTTING: "GIMMES" are encouraged in order to speed up play. ( In the leather of a normal putter is an acceptable distance - approximately 18 inches.). "GIMMES" COUNT ONE STROKE. 8. WHEN PUTTING ON A GREEN: If the ball OR ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their equipment. REMEDY: Replace the moved ball or ball-marker to its original spot. NO PENALTY. If the ball on the putting green moves as a result of wind, water or some other natural cause such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball-marker moved in such circumstances is replaced. NO PENALTY. 9. OBSTRUCTION WHEN USING A PUTTER WITHIN 2 CLUB LENGTHS OF THE GREEN A ball that is within two-club lengths of an immovable obstruction (a Sprinkler head) and the obstruction is within 2 club lengths of the green, is granted free relief. Drop 1 club length, no nearer the hole. NO PENALTY. ONE STROKE PENALTY SITUATIONS: 10. OUT OF BOUNDS: Golf balls hit beyond the white stakes, into a street, onto home owner s property or in a driving range are deemed to be out of bounds. Place a ball no more than two club lengths laterally from where the ball was deemed to have crossed into the out-of-bounds. ONE STROKE PENALTY. 11. WATER HAZARD: Golf balls hit into water hazard shall be placed no more than two club lengths from the water`s edge, parallel to where ball landed in water. ONE STROKE PENALTY. (IF there is a designated drop zone, hit from there.) ONE STROKE PENALTY. 12. LOST BALL: Three minutes maximum time allocated for looking for lost ball. A new ball shall be put in play where ball was expected to be found. ONE STROKE PENALTY. 13. ROCK RETAINING WALL: NO RELIEF. Play the ball as it lies. NO PENALTY. (You do have an UNPLAYABLE LIE option to drop the ball no more than two club lengths laterally from where the ball lies. ONE STROKE PENALTY.) Nov 15, 2017 Page 19

20 NO PENALTY SITUATIONS: 14. LOOSE SAND OR GRAVEL: balls shall be in play on loose sand or gravel. Play it as it lies. 15. LANDSCAPED PLANTS INCLUDING ORNAMENTAL GRASS: A ball coming to rest in landscaped plants OR where a player s swing is obstructed by same plants, may be moved two club lengths laterally from the plant. NO PENALTY. 16. FAIRWAY AND CART PATH ONLY: A ball landing in a divot, on a cart path, standing water or bare spots, can be rolled laterally, no closer to the hole. NO PENALTY /4 INCH GRAVEL: A ball coming to rest on 3/4 inch gravel may be dropped two club lengths laterally from the edge of the3/4 inch gravel. NO PENALTY. 18. RIPRAP ROCK OR RIVER ROCK: When a player is next to either one and it interferes with his swing. Drop 1 club length, no nearer the hole. NO PENALTY. 19. STONES IN A BUNKER: Remove the stone obstruction and try not to move the ball. NO PENALTY 20. SPECIAL RULES for TOURNAMENTS: (Fun Days count as regular play rounds - not tournament play) To be eligible for play in either the CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP or the PRESIDENTS CUP a member MUST HAVE: a. An ESTABLISHED CLUB HANDICAP. b. Members must have completed five (5) regular play, non-tournament rounds, in the last 12 months preceding these tournaments. (Brand new members that establish a handicap by playing non-regular (extra) SCG rounds would satisfy this requirement.) 20.2 For Tournaments, all Club Rules of Play apply, with these exceptions: c. RULE #1 Keeping Score: i. ALL PLAYERS MUST SIGN THE OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT SCORECARD (i.e. the Captain s card) IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT DAY S PLAY ENDS. ii. CONTESTED SCORE Scorecards should still be signed by each player and marked under appeal next to the appealing player s signature. NOTE: Any player that marks his score as under appeal is responsible for both contacting and explaining the purpose of the appeal to the Tournament Director within 24 hours following the tournament. iii. PLAYER SCORE DISPUTES: MUST BE APPEALED TO, AND SETTLED BY, THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR. ANY POST- PLAY APPEAL MUST BE MADE WITHIN 24 HOURS FOLLOWING THE END OF THE TOURNAMENT. iv. The Official Scorecard will prevail and override all scoring discrepancies between it and any other score card. Nov 15, 2017 Page 20

21 v. SCORING ERRORS CALLING FOR PLAYER DISQUALIFICATION will be enforced. d. RULE #3- Record all ACTUAL STROKES per hole (NO double-par maximum limit), e. RULE #5 - NO MULLIGANS f. RULE #7 - NO GIMMIES (PUTTS) 20.2 In signing up for these tournaments, a member is committing to two (2) consecutive weeks of play. AND, If there is a cancellation due to weather (or any other reason), then the tournament will be conducted as a single week event ** Tie Breaker Rule - The winner of any tie will be determined by comparing each tied player s gross hole score, starting on the highest #1 handicap hole and proceeding in sequence to #2, etc. until one of the tied player s gross score is lower. This tie breaker rule is meant to apply to players tied with Net scores also. To break a tie, they too will compare their gross scores (NOT net scores) using the same hole order as described above.
