The ALSRI Golf Club (otherwise known as the Los Angles Area IRS Golf Club) is proud to be the host for this tournament. The board has been working diligently to ensure that you enjoy your time at the Revere Golf course and Fiesta Henderson Hotel & Casino in Henderson, Nevada. This is our sixth annual IRS and Friends West Coast Golf Tournament. We listened to the feedback we received from last year s participants, and we hope you will enjoy the changes and improvements that have been made. The major change this year is our decision to move the tournament from Thur-Sun format we had for the past five years to Sun-Wed format primarily to save the cost of the hotel which has risen steadily for the past few years especially on the weekend which is generally runs 2 or 3 times higher than the weekdays. Our objective is to keep the package price as reasonable as possible. The package prices we offer this year is the testament to the excellent collaboration between our club and our hotel and golf course partners who share our visions of organizing the affordable fun and friendly tournament. We believe that due to the high cost of gasoline and plane ticket, many regulars who played this event for the past few years decided not to play this year. We hope they will rejoin us next year after this crisis is over. Throughout this newsletter you will find information you will need when you arrive in Nevada, as well as information you will need regarding the tournament. We hope you enjoy your time at our new golf courses, the Revere at Anthem and Las Vegas, Nevada areas and will return to play with us next year. /s/ Stephen Klotz

If any of you have an established USGA index, please them to Victor as soon as possible at either waves3464@hotmail.com or at victor.v.vannukul@irs.gov or you may give them to Victor, and/or other committee members during the pre-tournament registration on Monday morning. Friends, Family and Guests Golfers: We will compute all Friends, Family and Guests golfers either by using prior IRSWEST tournament scores or Calloway Handicapping System (First year participants) unless they can demonstrated that they have established USGA index from his/her own club. If any of you have established USGA index, please them to Victor as soon as possible at either waves3464@hotmail.com or at victor.v.vannukul@irs.gov or you may give them to Victor, and/or other committee members during the pre-tournament registration on Friday morning. The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust the index of players who don t have an established USGA index. Your final designated competing flight could be different from the designated flight given to you at the beginning of the tournament. Any disputes must be submitted to the committee members after each round. ALSRI President Welcome Cocktail Party ALSRI Golf Club President, Steven Klotz, will host a reception party at Fiesta Henderson Executive Suite (Under Victor Vannukul s Name) from 6:00 9:00P.M. Please come join us for beer, wine, soft drink and delicious appetizers and chance to meet other participants. As usual, Victor s Little Sister, Big Dawg, is in charge of the party this year. She is bringing ample supply of the diabolic Hurricane drink. Meals: Except for banquet dinner on Tuesday night, you are on your own for the four days. Coffee shops at Fiesta Henderson Hotel are open 24 hours. Buffet Restaurant (On 2nd floor) serves delicious international cuisine at reasonable price. Please remember to arrange a wake-up call for the next day's golf! Monday, June 23, 2008 Breakfast on your own. It will take you approximately 15 minutes from Fiesta Henderson to the Revere Golf Course. Revere s Driving Range will be open at 6:30A.M. Range Shuttle Service Cart will take you to the practice area every 15 minutes. Please check-in with the ALSRI Golf Club officials for your tournament gift (Revere Logo Premium Golf Shirt). Size is various. It s possible that we might not be able to get you the right size shirt. SHOT GUN start at 8:00 A.M. on BOTH Concord and Lexington Course (Modified back nine SHOTGUN Start). Please check the pairing sheet on page 3-4 for your exact starting hole and course. Please be ready at your cart no later than 7:45A. All Men play from the Gold Tee Marker. Ladies use Bronze Tee. Players 60 years and over use Green Tee. Long Drive hole to be determined. Ball must be in fairway. Closest to Pin Contest are on all par 3s, Closest-to-the Pin markers are for both Men and Ladies combined! For those of you who have not played the Lexington Course, a word of advice that will help is that this is a "Position" golf course...consider playing the course just a bit conservatively. The Concord course is more traditional designed with many severe elevations (uphill & downhill). #18 is my favorite hole! You can spot the Las Vegas Strip skyline on many of the holes on Concord course. After play, sign your scorecards and turn them in to a member of the Tournament Committee and/or Revere s tournament staff inside the Golf Shop at the course. (Tournament Committee Members are as follows: Victor Vannukul, Larry Taylor, Howard Wu and Steven Klotz). All decisions on tournament play will be by Committee and their ruling is final. Of course, the evening is on your own. Go to the City try your luck at the Fiesta Henderson casinos or nearby Green Valley Casino (5 minutes away on I-215. Las Vegas Strip is 15 minutes away. Georgia Nichols Texas Hold em Tournament at Fiesta Henderson's Poker Room on the second floor at 8 P.M. We will limit the field to no more than 20 players to ensure a reasonable finish time. The estimated buy-in fee is $65 inclusive of Poker Room s service fee & dealers gratuity. Top four winners will get 50/25/15/10 percentage of the purse (Estimated $1,000 for 20 players). Purse Splitting is not allowed! Tuesday, June 24, 2008 Breakfast on your own. Revere s Driving Range will be open at 6:30A.M. Range Shuttle Service Cart will take you to the practice area every 15 minutes. SHOT GUN start at 8:0 A.M. on BOTH Concord and Lexington Course (Modified back nine SHOTGUN Start). You will start on the same hole assigned to you except on difference course. Please check the pairing sheet on page 3-4 for your exact starting hole and course. Please be ready at your cart no later than 7:45A. All Men play from the Gold Tee Marker. Ladies use Bronze Tee. Long Drive hole to be determined. Ball must be in fairway. Closest to Pin Contest are on all par 3s, Closest-tothe Pin markers are for both Men and Ladies combined! Afternoon break and your leisure. 7 P.M. Banquet Award Dinner at Fiesta Henderson s Cancun Ballroom on the second floor. Alcoholic Beverage on your own (Cash Bar). Dinner is a buffet style dinner. Awards and Prizes ceremony immediately after dinner. Evening entertainment on your own. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 Check-out time is 12 P.M. Make sure that you gather all belongings before check-out.
