If you could kindly find your seats, we will begin our official program in a few minutes. 6:30 pm Josh to the Podium Hello and Thank you all for being a part of the Caritas Foundation s 21 st Annual Everyone s A Winner Golf Tournament. My name is Josh Classen and I am happy to be your emcee this evening. Before we get too comfortable if I could please ask all the Team Captains to make sure you have returned your BlackBerry scoring device to Jaclyn from Golf Score Central. If you have a BlackBerry that is not yours, please return it at this time. We ve all had a great day on the course and we re eager to sit down and enjoy dinner. I d like to invite Father Mike McCaffery to the podium to say Grace. Father Mike to the Podium Thank you, Father Mike. As we begin this evening s program, I d like to invite you to begin your meal. 2 Next, I would like to welcome Ron Gilbertson to the podium to speak on behalf of the Caritas Foundation. Ron to the Podium Thank you, Ron. Over the past 20 years, this golf tournament has raised over $1.7 million dollars in support of quality, compassionate care delivered by Covenant Health at the Grey Nuns, Misericordia and Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre. The Caritas Foundation is proud to support Covenant Health as they celebrate 150 years of Catholic health care in Alberta this year. Congratulations on a momentous milestone. As you know, the proceeds from this year s tournament will support the redevelopment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or NICU at the Misericordia Community Hospital. As the parents in the room can agree, welcoming a child into the world is an exciting and scary time. But what if there are complications? What if your baby is premature or arrives facing a life-threatening illness and needs to stay in the NICU? This is an unfortunate reality for one third of the babies delivered at the Misericordia. And this is why the Caritas Foundation is raising money in support of the redevelopment of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Mis. The newly designed unit will include 24 single rooms doubling the current patient capacity allowing parents to stay with their babies around the clock. Along with an expert team and specialized equipment, babies will thrive in this enriched, family-friendly environment.

3 Life doesn t always start out perfectly for all babies, but caring for them with compassion, in the right environment, and with the best equipment, will give them the best chance at a happy, healthy life. Now we re in for a real treat! It is time to get your credit cards ready and your cheque books out.
