The Cyclones finished in the top-four twice during the fall, including third-place showing at the Northern Intercollegiate. 3. A Cyclone has placed in the top-10 at all four tournaments in the fall (Denzel Ieremia- 3; Lachlan Barker- 2). 4. Ieremia led the team with three top-10 performances, increasing his career total to nine. He tied for fourth at the Northern Intercollegiate. 5. Ieremia has nine top-10 performances and 18 sub-70 rounds in his career to lead all current Cyclones. 6. Ieremia s career stroke average is the third-best clip in school history. NCAA postseason appearances have become the norm with Tank in charge. Before Tank s arrival in 2010, the Cyclones hadn t appeared in an NCAA Regional since He quickly changed the culture and success of the program by directing a team or an individual in qualifying for NCAA Regional competition in the last six seasons (Team- 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017; Individual- 2013, 2016). Perhaps Tank s biggest achievement has been his ability to lead the Cyclones to the pinnacle of collegiate golf. Tank and the Cyclones ended a 61-year drought by qualifying for the 2014 NCAA Championships, their first appearance at the national meet since He again led ISU to the national meet in 2017, as the Cyclones tied for 18th, their best finish in the modern era. ISU has also been a consistent winner under Tank. He s won seven tournament titles, finished runner-up 14 times, mentored 14 individual medalists and produced five All-Big 12 performers a total of eight times. Tank has also coached three of the top players in school history in Nate McCoy, Scott Fernandez and Nick Voke. In 2012, McCoy was an All-American and became the first Cyclone individual to qualify for the NCAA Championship since He tied for 29th at the national meet, the best finish by a Cyclone at the NCAA Finals in the modern era. Fernandez ended his career ( ) as one of the most decorated golfers in school history, earning Ping Second-Team All-America honors (2013) and a spot on European s Palmer Cup squad (2013). Fernandez, who is ISU s school-record-holder in top-10 finishes (29) and sub-70 rounds (28), has continued his success professionally, qualifying for the 2016 Open Championship as one of the up-and-coming young stars on the European Challenge Tour. Voke earned all-tournament honors at the Big 12 Championship a school-record three times and ended his career owning school records in tournament victories (five) and stroke average (71.89). Voke was a two-time Ping All-Central Region pick (2016, 2017) and made the All-Big 12 team in The season was one of the finest in school history. ISU won three tournament titles, the most since the season, and produced three individual medalists. With his second NCAA Championship berth on the line at the NCAA Austin Regional, ISU responded with a school-record 263 (21-under) in the final round en route to its best finish in an NCAA postseason event (third place). Voke solidified his status as one of the best in school history by winning medalist honors at the NCAA Austin Regional, shattering school records for low 18-hole round (61) and low 54-hole score (199). ISU went on to tie for 18th at the national meet, as Denzel Ieremia made the 54-hole cut as an individual and tied for 47th in the stroke play competition. ISU ended the year ranked 45th nationally by Golfweek. CHAD KEOHANE Assistant Coach 4th Season Chad Keohane enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for the men s golf program, helping the Cyclones achieve unprecedented success on the links during his time in Ames. With Keohane on staff, the Cyclones have had a team or player qualify for the NCAA postseason in each of his first three seasons. In , the Cyclones recorded one of its finest seasons in school history. ISU won three tournament titles, the most since , and reached the pinnacle in collegiate golf by advancing to the NCAA Championship at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. ISU tied for 18th at the NCAA Championship, its best finish in the modern era, and had a player (Denzel Ieremia) who made the 54-hole cut and finished in the top-50 in the medalist race. Keohane s technical expertise and nurturing demeanor has been a perfect fit for head coach Andrew Tank. When Tank missed the Seattle Redhawk Invitational in April of 2017 to witness the birth of his second child, Keohane temporarily took over the reins of the program. He proceeded to lead ISU to its third tournament title of the season. In his first season in , the Cyclones ended the year ranked in the nation s top-40, placed fourth at the Big 12 Championship, tying for their second-best finish in school history, and advanced to NCAA Regional competition. In his three seasons at Iowa State, Keohane has mentored a pair of Cyclones- Scott Fernandez and Nick Voke who earned All-Big 12 recognition and five golfers combining for eight individual tournament titles. Voke was the medalist at the 2017 NCAA Austin Regional, shattering ISU s school mark for low 18-hole round (61) and low 54-hole score (199). Keohane has aided ISU to six tournament championships, including a victory at the 2016 Desert Shootout where ISU shattered its 54-hole school record with an 823. ISU also set the school mark for low 18-hole score with Keohane on staff, posting an astounding 263 (21-under) in the third round of the 2017 NCAA Austin Regional to help the Cyclones qualify for the NCAA finals. Keohane graduated from the University of Texas El Paso in 2009 where he was a member of the golf team. He was a Second Team All-C-USA pick in 2006 and played in two NCAA Regionals. Keohane went on to a professional golfing career as fulltime member of the Hooters Tour. He was an instructor at the IMG Academy from and was a graduate assistant at UTEP in
