5 FEI INFORMATION ENTERING the NRBC 1! 2! 3! Follow these simple directions and entering the NRBC will be EASY! Be sure to fill out these forms: There are four NRBC Entry forms - one for the Classic, one for the NRHA Classes, one for the USEF events and one for the AQHA, APHA events. Please fill out the appropriate forms completely and enclose with them, payment, copy of registration papers, copies of owner & rider membership cards and competition license copy for all horses entered. With your entry, please return these forms: Classic Paid Warm-Up form for Coliseum Arena (if you are entered in the Classic) Ancillary Paid Warm-Up form for East Arena (If you are entered in the Horse Show) Stabling Request Formincludes Camper Reservations Send by the appropriate deadlines to NRBC US Highway 177 Byars, OK VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS, HORSE INSPECTIONS & PASSPORT CONTROLS These will be carried out in accordance with the Veterinary Regulations, Art & the discipline rules. General Regulations, 21st Edition, effective 1 st January 2005 will apply: Art Every horse entered for any competition at CNs or ClMs (see Appendix D) in a foreign country (see GRs 141.2), and all horses entered for other Cls, ClOs, Championships, Regional and Olympic Games, whether at home or in foreign countries (see GRs 141.2), must have an official, valid FEI Passport, or a National Passport approved by the FEI and accompanied by an FEI Recognition Card and, when applicable, an FEI registration number, as a means of identification and to establish ownership. Art Horses taking part in CNs and ClMs (see Appendix D) in their country of residence are not required to have such a passport as is mentioned in paragraph 1. All such horses must be properly registered and identifiable and, unless there is no national requirement for equine influenza vaccination in the host country and in the country of origin all horses must have a valid vaccination certificate. EQUINE INFLUENZA VACCINATION, VET. REGS. ANNEX VII (except events taking place in NZL & AUS) All horses and ponies for which an FEI Passport, or a National Passport approved by the FEI has been issued, must have the vaccination section endorsed by a veterinarian, stating that it has received two injections for primary vaccination against equine influenza, given between 1 and 3 months apart. In addition, a booster injection must be recorded as having been given within each succeeding 6 months, subsequent to the second injection of the primary vaccination. None of these injections must have been given within the preceding 7 days including the day of the competition or of entry into the competition stables. The above are the minimum requirements for influenza vaccination. Both primary and first and subsequent booster injections should be given according to the manufacturer s instructions which will fall within the stipulation of the FEI ruling. All owners and competitors are personally responsible for damages to third parties caused by themselves, their employees, their agents or their horses. They are therefore strongly advised to take out third-party insurance providing full coverage for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad, and to keep the policy up to date. FEI Code of Conduct for the Welfare of the Horse - The Federation Equestre International (FEI) expects all those involved in international equestrian sport to adhere to the FEI s Code of Conduct and to acknowledge and accept that at all times the welfare of the horse must be paramount and must never be subordinated to competitive or commercial influences A full copy of this Code can be obtained from the Federation Equestre Internationale, Avenue Mon-Repos 24, CH-1000, Lausanne 5, Switzerland. The Code is also available on the FEI s website: Arenas have a sand footing. The Competition arena is 285 x 165. The Warm-up arena is 125 x 70. There will be food concessions available on the show grounds. The Show Vet will be Alan Donnell, Equine Sports Medicine. There will be contact information available at the show. 6 Terms & Conditions 1. GENERAL CONDITIONS The National Reining Breeders Classic is limited to NRBC enrolled foals of 2002, 2003 & 2004 sired by NRBC subscribed stallions. Horses must have an NRHA License. There are nine divisions of the Breeders Classic - Open, Intermediate Open, Limited Open, Open Mare Bonus, Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro, Limited Non Pro, Prime Time Non Pro (50+), Non Pro Mare Bonus. The Open Division is open to any contestant. The Intermediate Open, Limited Open, Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro and Limited Non Pro eligibility will be based upon the Year 2008 NRHA Catagory 2 Class eligibility list. Each individual is responsible for his or her correct Class eligibility. The Prime Time Non Pro Breeders Classic division is for Non Pro Riders age 50 or older. They MUST also enter the Non Pro division. There is one entry fee for the Open division and one entry fee for the Non Pro division. Exhibitors will be automatically included in all divisions for which they are eligible. CHECK your status on the entry blank. 2. PAYMENT SCHEDULES (Must be received by payment date listed) OPEN, INT. Horses and riders entering after April 4 will be placed in a group preceding the regular draw. Placement will be made based on the time of entry with the last entry accepted going first in the draw. Entries for the Ancillary classes will close at 5:00 PM the day prior and will be drawn then. Late entries will be accepted after the draw is complete up until one hour prior to class starting, with a late fee of $200 and will run in a group preceding the regular draw. 4. DIVISIONS Divisions may be added or changed with no penalty prior to Noon on April 13, 2008, provided all fees are paid in full and all paperwork is complete. In the event division changes result in differences in entry fee requirements, no refunds will be granted, but any additional fees owed must be paid to compete. 5. REFUNDS There will be no refunds for Classic entries. Ancillary entries if scratched prior to draw will be refunded, all entry fees minus a $25 processing fee. No refunds for ancillary entries after the draw is complete. 6. PRELIMINARY GO & FINALS The Breeders Classic will consist of one preliminary go-round on Monday and Tuesday, April 14 and April 15, for the Non Pro Divisions and on Wednesday and Thursday April 16 and April 17 for the Open Divisions, with 30 Open horses to the Open Finals, 25 Non Pro horses to the Non Pro Finals, and 20 horses from each of the other divisions to make the finals. The finals in each division will be a clean slate format. 7. PRIZE MONEY For the Open, Intermediate Open, and Limited Open divisions the prize money will consist of the total entry fees received, less a 30% retainage, plus the added money. Of the total prize money, 72% will be allocated to the Open division, 20% will be allocated to the Intermediate Open division, and 8% allocated to the Limited Open division. Payback percentages will be based on the number of eligible entrants in each division. First place in the Open will pay a minimum of $75,000 and Thirtieth place will pay $5000. Prize money for the Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro, and Limited Non Pro divisions will consist of the respective total entry fees, less a 30% retainage, plus the added money. Of the total prize money, 70% will be allocated to the Non Pro, 20% allocated to the Intermediate Non Pro, and 10% allocated to the Limited Non Pro. Prime Time (50+) will consist of the $10,000 added. Payback percentage utilized will be based on the number of eligible entrants in each division. There will be an Open & Non Pro Mare Bonus Program. This program will be open to any mare entered in the Open and Non Pro Classic. Prize money will consist of total Mare Bonus Program fees. Of the total prize money, 70% will be allocated to the Open and 30% allocated to the Non Pro. The prize money will be paid to the top 4 highest placing or advancing mares in the Open and Non Pro division. The payback percentages will be 1 st 40%, 2 nd 30%, 3 rd 20%, 4 th 10%. 8. JUDGES All decisions of the judges are final. Five judges will judge the Breeders Classic with the high and low scores dropped. One, two or three judges will judge the ancillary classes with all scores being used. All judges and Stewards will be determined at a later date prior to the show NRBC Premium Book ~

7 9. SUBSTITUTIONS Substitutions/transfers of entries will be permitted anytime during the Classic nomination/payment process. Transfer of entries between owners is allowed. Owners will be allowed to substitute or transfer entries by paying an additional 30% of the entry fees paid to date. Substitutions will be allowed until Noon, April STALLS Stalls will be available starting Tuesday, April 8, at a fee of $160 per stall for the duration of the show if reserved by March 15 or a fee of $185 per stall if reserved after March 15 based on availability. There will be a non-stabling or grounds fee for all horses not ordering a stall. If stall is not needed, a grounds fee of $25 for the whole week will be charged. Stalls by the East Arena area for ancillary horses only for the nights of April 18 and April 19, will be offered at a rate of $50 per night if available. Permanent and temporary stalls will be used and stalls will be provided with a door. 11. PHOTOGRAPHERS/VIDEOGRAPHERS All exhibitors will be subject to the use of photographers and videographers under the direction of show management for the benefit of show promotion. NO exhibitor will be allowed the discretionary use of their services. 12. RIDERS Riders must be designated prior to April 4, 2008 to assure the minimum number of riders between horses in the draw. Without proper notification the show management will not be responsible for riders drawing up back to back. 13. DAMAGE Individuals will be responsible for any physical damage inflicted to the Great Southwest Equestrian Center property and will reimburse the show management for such damage as it may be charged. All owners and exhibitors shall be responsible for any damage incurred by them, their agents or employees to stalls, buildings and other properties on the show grounds and shall be billed accordingly. 14. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS & CERTIFICATES Health requirements for the State of Texas will be followed. A 45 day health certificate and 12 month Coggins are required upon arrival. 15. RULES/CHANGES The show management reserves the right to interpret these rules and regulations. All decisions will be final. By way of making an entry, the exhibitor is assuming responsibility for knowledge of the rules and releases show management from any claims or losses. The show management reserves the right to modify or change conditions for the Breeders Classic. 16. RIGHT TO CANCEL The show management reserves the right to cancel the event without notice at any time prior to the contest and without liability to the show management. In the event of such cancellation, entry fees or other show fees paid in advance shall be refunded. The horse show management reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to, or arising out of, or incident to, the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by Show Management, its decision to be final. The Horse Show Management reserves to itself the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries and cancel award prizes, without claim for damages. Every horse entered herein for competition will be under control of the Show Management, but the Show Management will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, officials, employees, Directors, Sponsors and Great Southwest Equestrian Center blameless for any loss or accident to his horse(s), employees or equipment. 17. An open check will be required to check in and receive your number at the show office. If no charges are made during the show, then your check will be returned to you. PAID WARM-UPS Important Information Once again, paid warm-up reserved spots in the Coliseum Arena will go to the sponsors, starting from the top category. We will continue to limit everyone to one ride per Classic horse in the Coliseum arena. Please return your request for paid warm-up times with your entries. You WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING WITH THE NRBC OFFICE ON APRIL 7-8 ( ) TO FIND WHEN YOUR PAID WARM-UP WILL BE. Scheduled times for COLISEUM PAID WARM-UPS begin on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9 and go through SATURDAY, APRIL 12. Please Note: If you are not a sponsor please plan on your paid warm-up being Wednesday, April 9 or Thursday, April 10. Horses may arrive Tuesday, April 8. The arena will be open for 2 hours rotating with each paid warm-up session. We cannot make this event what it is without our sponsors, and we want to again extend our appreciation. We also want to continue to try to make our exhibitors comfortable with our warm-up program, and our entire event. Please let us know how we can help you. Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides provided the respective breed/discipline dues or breed/discipline category fee has been paid. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $20 nonmember registration fee and a $5 breed/discipline category fee for each breed/ discipline. The stallion will also be listed as Passed Out in all advertising stallion listings. The owner/agent or nominator of the stallion agrees to provide NRBC promotional information to each mare owner breeding to the stallion. He or she also agrees to mail NRBC Foal Enrollment Forms to the owner of each live foal at the time the Breeders Certificate is provided. Final payment must be received prior to the entry deadline for the Breeders Classic that the horse is to compete in. Foal enrollment is not dependent upon the stallion s continued enrollment. INELIGIBILITY Failure to pay or comply with these rules will result in ineligibility to participate in the program, as well as a possible fine or suspension.
