4 2018 Objectives 1. Under volunteering, develop role definitions/terms of reference for roles other than Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Consider the latter alongside CSSC HO templates and adapt as appropriate. 2. Develop an enhanced and defined feedback form to cover all area events. 3. Develop an enhanced Recruitment and Retention policy.

7 Inter-Area Collaboration Leeds Castle 1 December 2018 Gosport and Fareham initiated collaboration with Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight in order to deliver social opportunities that some areas may struggle to facilitate. Our first social event took off, being almost sold out within two weeks of the initial advertising being released by CSSC Head Office.

8 Achievements Gosport and Fareham have achieved much in 2018 and looks forward to achieving more in Our list of achievements include; Successful creation of a Facebook page, which now has over 150 members. Delivery of the first British Sign Language lessons in the area oversubscribed at 35 attendees per session, with a waiting list. Quarterly quiz nights run at a local sports club, with over 200 attendees. During these we have successfully raised money for FASS, Harbour Cancer Trust and the Royal British Legion. Creation of three new sports subsections Walking Netball, Mixed Netball, Walking Group. Delivery of development activities with an equality and diversity theme, including alpaca walking.

9 Development Activities Gosport and Fareham have moved on from the traditional social day trips to now incorporate activities that can bring people together. Alpaca Walking and British Sign Language lessons are just two examples of these events both of which have equality and diversity links. Alpacas are friendly, furry creatures that are not only great to walk, but have some sparkling personalities. They provide those with learning difficulties the chance to get out and affect emotional responses to the world around them. British Sign Language is the main form of communication between those that lack the ability to hear and the rest of the world. Delivery of these sessions has the ability to bring the community closer together from the elderly to small children and to create a more inclusive atmosphere for everyone.

10 New Ideas: Moving Forward Future beginner and intermediate BSL courses. Further alpaca walking sessions. Sky diving opportunities. Expansion on our social trips, including Cadbury World, Harry Potter Studios and Fright Night. Installation of more quiz nights and other trivia activities such as beetle drives and race nights. Inter-area collaboration in the Solent area and co-operation with other SSE areas to accommodate their attendance at events. Regional support for the SLO SSE Hampshire Challenge.
