Message from the Australian Sports Commission It has been another significant year for the Australian Sports Commission and the sports network as we continue to work together to pursue victory on the world stage and inspire all Australians to experience the joy of sport. Despite a challenging economic environment, in the Australian Government invested almost $120 million in our national sporting organisations. In high performance, Australia s Winning Edge continues to evolve as we target sports with potential to deliver international success and invest more in our most promising athletes. Some highlights in have included: Campaign Rio a partnership between the AIS, Australian Olympic Committee and Australian Paralympic Committee to prepare athletes for the Rio Olympic Games. AIS Centre for Performance Coaching and Leadership the Centre continues to develop Australia s coaches and high performance leaders, with a Podium Coach program launched. AIS Sports Draft a fast-tracked development program for talented athletes who are interested in transferring to Olympic or Commonwealth Games sports. Our work with sports to reform governance structures and develop their strategic and commercial capabilities also continues. The ASC is determined to create better businesses and we are leading the way with a lean and agile operating model, a new AIS brand, and continued focus on philanthropy through the Australian Sports Foundation. Grassroots participation remains a key priority, with the Australian Government s announcement of the Sporting Schools program a significant endorsement of community sport. The $100 million program will commence in 2015 reaching more than 850,000 children and will enable sports to boost their participation numbers. Australian sport is on a transformative journey. Few periods have been filled with so much activity or so much promise, and I appreciate your hard work and support over the past year. By joining us on this journey you continue to prove your capacity to succeed in this ever-changing sporting landscape. John Wylie AM Chair Board of the Australian Sports Commission 6

CHAIRMAN S REPORT I have pleasure in presenting to you the Annual Report for Diving Australia (DA). As flagged in last year s Chairman s Report, the year following an Olympics often takes on a development focus and was no exception. Our World Championships team was young and performed well but did not collect a medal. Emily Boyd and Lara Tarvit were our best result taking 4 th in the Women s 10m Synchro. The World Championships were held in Barcelona in arguably the most picturesque pool in world diving. It is fair to say that has been a challenging year in a number of respects. The transition to a new CEO, the transition to a new high performance operational framework, via Australia s Winning Edge (AWE), injuries, new competition initiatives and new internal high performance systems have all been challenges for Diving Australia to navigate. I am supremely confident that our handling of those challenges has seen us in a position of significant strength on which to build toward the Rio Olympics and beyond. As you know, Diving Australia derives a significant percentage of its annual revenue from our Australian Sports Commission funding. As a result of system changes with the ASC and the AIS, has very much been a transition year from the old model of high performance operation to a new method driven by the ASC s AWE strategy. This has removed the AIS Diving program from our operations and whilst that component will be missed, it also gave us the opportunity to review and reconsider the delivery of high performance operations of diving within Australia. From this, our new strategy, based on designating three of our HP locations as Performance Pillars was born. In my view this has been an exciting development for Diving Australia and with the appointments of Hui Tong to National Coach Brisbane and Chava Sobrino to National Coach Sydney; as well as the recruitment of Michel Larouche to the new position of National Coach Adelaide, DA is now very strongly positioned to grow our high performance capability with a flexibility not seen before. We are highly optimistic that this new strategy will allow us to not only maintain our already formidable level of success, but indeed grow that, over a medium to long term period, to rival the great diving nations of the world. Also in the high performance area, a new competition format was introduced and was highly successful. The Australian Domestic Grand Prix series was born with the first events held in Adelaide and Melbourne. A successful high performance camp was run in conjunction with this initiative and I think it is appropriate to say that this is definitely an initiative that will enhance the development, and ultimately performance, of all, but especially our younger elite athletes. At this juncture I should comment that DA made a noteworthy financial loss this year. The Board views this loss as an investment as it can be directly attributable to the recruitment of an unbudgeted new National Coach and the new ADGP format as well as increased travel for our larger cohort of athletes in preparation for the Commonwealth Games. The Board has put in place measures to curb losses for the financial year. I would like to make a note here that whilst it is loss, it was going to be higher loss except for, in a resounding vote of confidence in our new HP direction, the ASC provided us with some additional funding late in the financial year to offset some of the costs associated with transitioning to our new HP model. We accepted this with thanks and were particularly pleased also at the symbolic nature of the ASC being strong supporters of the new approach and acknowledging the strategic opportunity for us to recruit a new world class head coach. 7

I have touched on the AWE Strategy above and it is important to note the other components of that strategy (governance and commercialisation) and our work in those areas. At the 2013 Annual General Meeting I was particularly pleased that the members voted unanimously to convert to a public company limited by guarantee and to adopt the ASC s Governance Principles. I can say now that the 2014 AGM will be held as Diving Australia Limited, and no longer Diving Australia Inc. We have commenced new partnerships this year with leading swimwear brands Funkita and Funky Trunks and internationally recognised apparel manufacturer Canterbury. These are the start of a renewed push to enhance the commercialisation of Diving Australia. We have also commenced a relationship with Revolutionise Sport to create a new website and national registration database which will assist in our commercialisation efforts. This system was rolled out just prior to the end of the financial year and promises to be an excellent addition to our management tools. The Board of DA believes that all of these these new developments will continue to strengthen DA and we are indebted to the ASC and the AIS for their ongoing support. I express special thanks to Simon Hollingsworth, ASC CEO, Matt Favier, AIS Director, Gareth Candy, Sustainable Sport Partnership Adviser and last but not least, Tudor Bidder, AIS Performance Manager, who has been a strong advocate for Diving and an excellent sounding board for our High Performance Management team. Diving Australia is very fortunate to have five high performance centres located in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The respective state institutes and academies of sport are highly valued partners in our high performance system and we wish to thank them and their State Governments. On behalf of Diving Australia, I express sincere thanks to Steve Lawrence, WAIS, Wes Battams, SASI, Anne-Marie Harrison, VIS, Charles Turner, NSWIS and Bennett King, QAS. Their continued support is truly valued and an integral part of our new Performance Pillars approach. Direct financial support to athletes is also highly valued and Diving Australia supplemented the options available to athletes this year with a new approach to the National Squad system. We thank the ASC and the ACGA for the excellent DAS program and also other providers of direct funding to athletes such as the AOC Medal Incentive Scheme, and events that offer prizemoney. These opportunities to defray costs of being an elite athlete are greatly welcomed. Turning to our Sport Partners, our genuine thanks to the ACGA - especially Perry Crosswhite and Diane Gallagher - for their ongoing support and assistance to Diving. At the time of writing this report the 2014 Commonwealth Games have concluded and were highly successful however these Games should rightly be reported in in next year s report. Nevertheless, Perry and Diane thank you so much for your support of Diving! I would like to thank John Coates, AOC President and Craig Phillips, AOC Secretary-General for their support. I would also like to note that Craig Phillips has tendered his resignation and that we wish him every future success. Whilst he will be missed, we are thrilled that Fiona de Jong, AOC Director of Sport has been announced as the new Secretary General and we look forward to working with her and Chef De Mission Kitty Chiller on the road to Rio! While the Board focuses heavily on the high performance aspect of the sport, it also places great value on growing the foundation aspects of the sport such as coaching, officiating and participation. A review into the Coach/Official Education Accreditation system has been undertaken during the year and whilst not yet finalised, the preliminary findings will, I am sure, lead to a better level of coach and official education. As in previous years, Diving Australia conducts three levels of National Championship. It was a busy competition year for DA with the World Cup and Commonwealth Games Trials conducted on top of the three successful national championships and the new ADGP series. 8

Venues for national events in were Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane and I would like to extend our appreciation for the ongoing support for our sport from the various venue management teams in all states. I would also like to acknowledge the professionalism of the DA staff lead by David Bell. David s inclusive leadership style and capacity to quickly assess where our greatest opportunities lie and how to crystallize them has been and will continue to be paramount to our success. More importantly David is building a self-sustaining DA model of success and performance. In my view all the DA Staff go above and beyond in trying to make DA as successful as possible and was no exception. I would like to thank our Member State Associations and their respective Executive Committees and volunteers for all the work they do which is undoubtedly the backbone of our sport. Our grassroots delivery is key and your efforts are not unnoticed and are greatly appreciated. Our efforts to improve and develop stakeholder relationships continues to be a strategic priority. Whilst occurring in the new financial year not under report, it would be remiss of me not to note the passing of Life Member and diving icon, Jack Barnett. Jack will be missed. I would like to thank my fellow Board members for their ongoing support and commitment to the governance of Diving Australia. After 18 years on the board of Diving Australia and the last 6 years as Chairperson I have decided not to re-stand for election to the DA Board at the 2014 AGM. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve on the Board especially over the most successful period in our sports history, which has been since the Sydney 2000 Olympics. It is important that I advise all members that both myself personally and the board have put significant effort into succession planning so that my departure from the board and the Chairmanship is seamless and that appropriate succession can occur. On a more personal note during my period on the Board I have experienced the joy of seeing divers progress from their 1 st junior state championship to being an Olympic Gold Medallist! The greatest asset our sport has is the passion that all members of the Diving community have for the sport at all levels. Diving Australia has always punched above our weight on the international stage especially since Sydney We have developed a winning and innovative culture and become a world leader in Diving respected by all other Fina member federations. Whilst I have fond memories of our sports various achievements my fondest memories will always be the life long friendships and relationships I have been fortunate to form during my time on the board. Perhaps one of my most enjoyable hands on tasks was undertaking to research and record the History of Diving In Australia such that a book could be published. This project is now complete and the book will be available in late 2014 with all proceeds being ploughed back into the sport of Diving. The last 12 months have seen significant change for Diving Australia. We have embraced that change with the support of all stakeholders and I thank each and every one of you for that. I say again, your passion is to be applauded and you have my thanks. I wish you every success in future years and will always remain a humble servant of our great sport and available to assist in any way I can should the need arise. Ashley Wilson Chairman 9

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER S REPORT It is with pleasure that I present this, my second, report to the Annual General Meeting. It is fair, I think, to say that my first year has been a whirlwind and a steep learning curve. That said, I now feel like I have a solid appreciation for the intricacies of the sport (and indeed a good idea of what I still have to learn) and that is entirely thanks to all stakeholders being willing to engage with me and to provide advice, support and encouragement. The Strategic Plan was the basis for Diving Australia s operations over the year. At the AGM this year, further work will be undertaken on the new Strategic Plan to ensure a rollout for a new Strategic Plan in 2015 and beyond is ready. STRATEGIC PRIORITY 1: GOVERNANCE & MANAGEMENT Objective: To ensure Diving provides strong leadership, efficient and effective management to ensure a professional, sustainable and compliant organisation. Key Result Areas in this pillar are: Governance Financial Management Stakeholder Relations Communications Risk Management Anti-Doping It is essential that DA takes a collaborative and consultative leadership position and ensures that sound governance structures and financially sustainable practices are in place. At the 2013 AGM, David Lyons and Rob Jamieson were re-elected to the Board unopposed. Sarina Bratton, Eric Brooker, Ashley Wilson, Michael Murphy and Stephen Abbott continued their terms. In the lead up to the AGM, significant consultation was held regarding a new corporate entity for Diving Australia along with a new Constitution. It is an Australian Sports Commission desire that all National Sporting Organisations be incorporated as a public company limited by guarantee. This desire is part of the ASC s Mandatory Sports Governance Principles which DA has resolved to fully comply with the in the short term albeit we are not yet required to fully comply. At the 2013 AGM, Special Resolutions were put to the meeting to approve the move to a public company limited by guarantee and to adopt a new constitution addressing the Governance Principles. Pleasingly, the resolutions were carried unanimously. During the AGM weekend, additional topics were discussed including a new Coach and Official Education review to be carried out by former ASC consultant Peter Topp. Peter facilitated an initial session which was enthusiastically received. Other topics were a review of the earlier Future Directions Conference and updates on the High Performance section. An Open Forum was also held and covered the importance of transparency, communication, accountability and ensuring that DA and the States have a good value proposition. State Delegates for the weekend were: Western Australia South Australia Lisa Barrow Michael Parker 10

Tasmania Victoria New South Wales Queensland David Hanlon Fiona Carter Gillian Brooker Steve Warner Observers for the weekend were: Ashley Wilson, Michael Murphy, Robert Jamieson, David Lyons, Eric Brooker, Bonnie Macarounas, Helen Hillard, Meredith Cameron, Gareth Candy (ASC), David Bell, Valerie Beddoe, Graeme Rose and Wendy Pullar. Apologies were received from Sarina Bratton, Stephen Abbott, Janne Ellis, Paul Stafford, Alan Tobin and Jane Collins. Whilst it has been a challenging year from a transition point of view, with significant internal and external change, I would like to acknowledge the excellent support of the Australian Sports Commission and the Australian Institute of Sport. As our principal partner, the ASC almost singlehandedly enables DA to be a world force in Diving. With the conclusion of the AIS program during the year, DA now manages additional funds on behalf of the AIS and is accountable for the direction and outcomes of our high performance program. We embrace that accountability and will thrive on it. The Australian Commonwealth Games Association has stepped up its support of Diving in the year leading up to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. In ACGA contributed $127,013 to our High Performance (junior and senior) and we are exceptionally grateful. Sam Coffa, Perry Crosswhite, Diane Gallagher and their team do an excellent job thank you. We remain indebted to the support of the AOC and we thank John Coates, Craig Phillips, Fiona De Jong and their team for their excellent support. Graeme Rose and David Bell attended a Rio planning visit during the year with new Chef De Mission, Kitty Chiller and we look forward to working more with Kitty. The Australian Olympic Team is in safe hands. During the course of the year DA called for nominations, under new Terms of Reference, for both the Athlete Committee and the Selection Committee. These Committees are an integral part of DA Governance and we are particularly pleased that David Lyons and Matthew Adamson will Chair the Athlete Committee and Selection Committee respectively. Other members of the Athlete Committee are Matthew Mitcham, Rachel Bugg, Alexandra Croak and Loudy Wiggins. Other Members of the Selection Committee are Dean Pullar and Martha Barnett. During the year, Diving Australia took over the AIS tenancy at the Sleeman Sports Complex and we are working closely with the Sleeman management to continue to provide strong facilities for diving and we are grateful to Mark Christie, Tracey Galvin and others for placing a high importance on our sport. Turning to our financials, DA s financial statements show a loss of $117,985. This loss is made up of a number of unbudgeted items but largely to do with the recruitment of a new National Coach, Michel Larouche, the inception of a new competition format, the Australian Domestic Grand Prix Series and as yet unrealised, but budgeted, investment gains. This loss was planned for and the Board and I consider this an investment in the future of diving in Australia. The Audited Financial Report is further on in this report and you will note that it remains in the incorporated association format. The auditors prepared it in this format as the public company did not come into existence until after the close of the financial year. That said, I requested the auditors to include departmental profit and loss statements to provide more clarity and transparency. I do note that the 2013 comparative lines have not been included. It was not possible to have a meaningful comparison due to changes in the way the accounts have been kept and to the significant differences in the funding model caused by the transition under AWE. 11

STRATEGIC PRIORITY 2: HIGH PERFORMANCE Objectives: To be ranked within the top 3 Diving nations To effectively integrate and utilise all available high performance resources across Australia through leadership by the DA Centre of Excellence Key Result Areas in this pillar are: National Leadership National Squads Talent Identification Resources Utilisation Athlete Selection International Competition Coaches Sports Science / Sports Medicine Facilities Communication The DA High Performance Plan was finalised early in the year under report and all States were provided with a copy. In February, DA announced an enhancement to that High Performance Plan based on elevating the status of three of the five DA program locations. The concept of Performance Pillars was brought in and Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane designated Performance Pillars with Melbourne and Perth being designated as Development Pillars. In commencing a Performance Pillars approach, we appointed three National Coaches and appointed a National Coach Panel. Hui Tong was appointed National Coach Brisbane, Chava Sobrino, National Coach Sydney and Michel Larouche, National Coach Adelaide. The appointment of Michel Larouche was a coup for DA in recruiting the then Canadian National Head Coach and DA is particularly pleased to have Michel in our daily training environment and we look forward to his contribution toward Rio and beyond. The crucial aspect to the new direction is taking a consultative and collaborative approach and ensuring a single unified direction. I am particularly pleased at the support we have had from each of our System Partners in moving to the new approach and it is greatly appreciated that we now have a firm commitment to all work together to achieve a better outcome for our Australian divers. I give my sincere thanks to Charles Turner at NSWIS, Wes Battams at SASI, Bennett King at QAS, Anne Marie Harrison at VIS and Steve Lawrence at WAIS for their ongoing support of diving, and specifically their support of our new approach. HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM The HP Program is managed by Graeme Rose, High Performance Manager in conjunction with Valerie Beddoe, National Technical Manager and Michael Hetherington, National Sports Science / Sports Medicine Manager. They rely heavily on the technical and strategic skills of our National Coach Panel, Hui Tong, Chava Sobrino and Michel Larouche. The AIS Program in Brisbane concluded during the year and we shall always hold a very special regard for all that program achieved over the 29 years of its operation. Most notably, 9 Olympic medals. AIS Program Co-ordinator, Andrew Heath, deserves our sincere thanks to his contributions to the program and we are very happy to continue his involvement with DA in a Finance Officer role. 12

The commitment to elite programs by the Sleeman Centre Management is greatly appreciated and negotiations for enhancements to facilities are always a positive experience. Our thanks go to Mark Christie, Tracey Galvin and the Sleeman team. Five national training centres were funded by DA during as part of the DA High Performance Program and three of those now have additional funding as Performance Pillars. All DA programs are supported by the AIS and we again thank the AIS for its support. Sydney Performance Pillar supported by NSW Institute of Sport National Coach: Salvador Sobrino NSWIS Coaches: Joel Rodriguez / Vyninka Arlow The NSWIS Program is world class and has been designated a Performance Pillar. We expect that the Sydney based program will provide strong contribution to Australian diving success at each level of Talent, Elite and World Class. Daniel Blattman and Clare Prideaux, amongst others, have provided excellent support to the Coaches and we are indebted to NSWIS for their ongoing support of Australian diving. Adelaide Performance Pillar supported by SA Sports Institute National Coach: Michel Larouche SASI Head Coach: Mike Martens SASI Assistant Coach: Christian Brooker We are truly grateful to SASI for its ongoing support of Diving. By adding Christian Brooker (SASI Assistant Coach) and Michel Larouche (National Coach to the program during the year, we have added to the great work of Mike Martens are supremely confident that this program will reach never before seen heights. Our sincere thanks to Wes Battams and Tania Patterson for their assistance and support in our new direction. Brisbane Performance Pillar supported by Qld Academy of Sport National Coach: Hui Tong Assistant Coach: Xiangning Chen QAS Coach: Mathew Helm DA continues to be based in Brisbane and as a result it is true to say that additional resources are utilised within the Brisbane program. That said, the Brisbane program continues to enjoy significant success and DA is committed to ensuring that all Performance Pillars are all achieving significant success at all three levels Talent, Elite and World Class. Bennett King is a great supporter of diving and we look forward to continuing to work closely with the QAS. Perth Development Pillar supported by WA Institute of Sport WAIS Head Coach: Shannon Roy Shannon Roy was appointed to the WAIS Head Coach position during the year and after the relocation of Maddison Keeney to Brisbane to continue her development, Shannon has worked feverishly on the development of his young squad. Our thanks go to Steve Lawrence and Michael Broadbridge for the roles they play in delivery of the WAIS Program. Melbourne Development Pillar supported by Victorian Institute of Sport VIS Head Coach: Gong Ming Gong Ming continued throughout the year in developing his young athletes and also providing support to injured athletes James Connor and Darcy Taylor as they rehabilitated and sought to make a comeback to the top level of competition. Grant Nel remains as a senior diver within this program. 13

Loudy Wiggins provides excellent support to Ming and we thank her as well as Anne Marie Harrison for the VIS support. I would also like to pay tribute to Marty Aitken and wish him every success in his retirement. TALENT IDENTIFICATION Talent Identification remains a crucial component of the success of Australian Diving and during the year, efforts were made to encourage a greater national focus on talent identification. Athletes (not part of a formal NTID Squad) from NSW, Victoria and South Australia were invited to take part in both the NTID Camp in January and the NTID Competition at the Elite Junior Championships. Barbi Donnet acted in the role of NTID Coordinator (as well as other duties) and managed the program with aplomb. Formal NTID programs operate in WA, SA and Qld, and DA has designated the NSW squad of Vyninka Arlow / Thomas Rickards (DNSW) and the Diving Victoria squad of Jack Taylor as associate NTID squads. During the year we welcomed Joe Meszaros to Perth and we farewelled Iris Deng who has returned to China after many years of excellent service in Australia. We wish her well. Joe will work closely with Shannon Roy to strengthen the WA pathway. Head NTID Coach, Jinlan Wang and Wang Tong Xiang continue as coaches in Brisbane and Shanming Zhu continues as coach in Adelaide. INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS The Competition Program in was again a critical element in the preparation of athletes for the year s benchmark event. This year was no exception as athletes experienced their first overseas trips in the lead up to the World Cup in Shanghai and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow (Edinburgh). A summary of international results from is below with a detailed listing of results included at Appendix B. I am particularly pleased that they have all shown significant upward trend from recent previous years. 16 SUPPORTIVE SPORTS SCIENCE/MEDICINE PROGRAMS With financial assistance from the AIS under the AWE strategy, the level of SS/SM support accompanying national teams was increased during the year and we now have a stronger Support Services program managed by Michael Hetherington. We have utilised the services of: Chief Medical Officer Dr Mark Young Principal Physiotherapist Ivan Hooper Coordinating Sport Psychologist Jason Patchell Strength and Conditioning Coach David Watts as well as many other excellent service providers across Australia and the SIS/SAS network. The research partnership between Diving Australia, CSIRO and AIS has continued to evolve and the knowledge gained over previous years by the CSIRO research scientists, along with the technology they have developed, has enabled us to focus on a new project aimed at enhancing our medal prospects in particularly the women s synchronised events at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology has provided us with a method of scientifically matching each athletes physical and athletic characteristics, so when our national coaches are selecting synchronised diving teams, they will have athlete specific technical data to assist them with their decision making. The data provided by the CFD technology will also assist our coaches in refining technical detail we have not previously been able to measure or quantify. The CFD technology has also been adapted for use as a coaching tool. The Dive Mechanic technology will be used by coaches on pooldeck and allow them to provide real time feedback using detailed generic 3D animation. It is hoped that the technology will eventually be able to use athlete specific training video in real time. The CSIRO scientists presented their research at the 2014 Diving Australia High Performance Camp in Adelaide on 6 th March. The presentation generated great interest amongst the athletes, coaches and sports science staff attending the camp and it was acknowledged that the research has the potential to assist our future divers and coaches in leading Australia to greater international success. Diving Australia is grateful for the continued support of the AIS and CSIRO with this project. ANTI-DOPING & ILLICIT DRUGS IN SPORT PROGRAM We are particularly pleased with the progress of our Illicit Drugs in Sport Policy and Education and Testing plan. We carried out education seminars at national events and we commenced randomised tests to ensure compliance and to also provide athletes with more experience in the business of being elite athletes. I can report there were no positive tests throughout the year. 16

STRATEGIC PRIORITY 3: SPORT DEVELOPMENT Objectives: To grow participation and interest in Diving, in partnership with State Diving Associations and member clubs, through a range of strong development programs To conduct a strong domestic competition program and successful international events Key Result Areas in this pillar are: Club Development Coach/Official development Volunteer development Participation development Domestic Competition International Competition Membership for the 2013/14 year was 2086, which is a slight decrease on previous years. I do note pleasingly that both NSW and Victoria have recorded increases from last year. I am very pleased to report that, albeit very late in the year, DA rolled out a new National Database and Registration System. This was a challenging project with initially a DA contracted provider unable to deliver despite 3 years of development work. Late in the year we terminated that arrangement and signed with a new provider, Revolutionise Sport, in June. Before the end of June the new system was up and running and whilst there have been some teething problems, this was to be expected in such a short turnaround time. That said, the new system is already providing significant information that was not readily available beforehand, and I believe will also significantly reduce administration time in future. I am optimistic that the information gleaned in the new system will provide us meaningful information to assist in efforts to stem the membership decreases and coupled with a new push for memberships, will see us gain additional memberships. COACH EDUCATION During the year, we commenced a Coach and Official Education Review. Peter Topp was tasked with carrying out the review and to date we have made good, albeit slow, progress. We are confident that this review will be concluded early in and then we will commence work on a new education system in line with recommendations from the Review. Barbi Donnet has also acted as National Coaching Director throughout the year and I thank her for her work. DA has been involved in the delivery of Level 1 Coaching Courses, which I commend the State Associations for the work in delivering. DA also ran a Level 2 Coaching Course in October with 9 participants. Registered Coaches as at 30 June 2014: State Level I Level II Level III TOTAL New South Wales Queensland Victoria South Australia Tasmania Western Australia TOTAL

OFFICIATING The DA Officiating Committee continued in consisting of Wendy Pullar, Valerie Beddoe and Eric Brooker. Officiating is part of the review being conducted by Peter Topp and it is anticipated that in the coming year there will be adjustments to the DA Officiating Policy and the terms of reference for the Committee. Wendy Pullar continued during the year as National Technical Officials Coordinator and was awarded life membership of Diving Australia at the 2013 AGM. Congratulations Wendy and thank you for your efforts! That said, we are absolutely indebted to the State Associations that host the events and their excellent volunteers. I would also like to acknowledge those officials that travel to support us at our events. At the risk of missing people I would like to acknowledge Wayde Masters, Wendy Pullar, Gillian Brooker, Eric Brooker, Helen Hillard, Fiona Carter, Paul Beech, Bree Bryant, Ann Sissons, Eliza Cole, Kevin Hall, Duncan Roy, Monica Fly, Kim Hynenen-Furler, Peter Panayi, Shirley Panayi and others (sincere apologies if I missed you!). CLOSING REMARKS In delivering this report, I have cast my mind back over the last year and whilst there is much still to do, I certainly have a sense of pride in what all of us have been able to achieve this year. I would like to thank all stakeholders that have assisted and supported me throughout the year. Our State Associations and Clubs are the lifeblood of our sport and I am proud to work closely with them. The DA Staff have been very patient with me as I learn the ropes and I sincerely thank them for their efforts. I have been very grateful for the support and guidance from the ACGA and the AOC and of course the AIS and the ASC have been amazing supporters of Diving and I am pleased we are repaying that support with some significant results this year. I sincerely thank Tudor Bidder and Gareth Candy for their excellent counsel. Lastly, I want to place on record my respect and admiration for our athletes. From athletes at the beginning of the pathway such as Michael Leonard and Kate Rosman to our most senior athletes such as Grant Nel and Melissa Wu, the athletes are the reasons for DA s existence and I thank you for your efforts and wish you every success.
