1 Ready to Execute (RTE-Agency Developed & Pre-Approved Programs) RTE Specifics Indoor Events Rockwall/ Outdoor Boulder Description: Come out and enjoy a day of climbing with ODR. Opportunities include learning how to climb and belay each other on ODR s indoor climbing wall. Participants will learn how to communicate effectively and rely on each other to master various routes of difficulty. Competitions can be added to allow teams to race to the top using auto belays or our outdoor boulder as well as opportunities to learn how to rappel. Come away with more confidence and sense of community. Time: 2 hour increments Food your NAF $$s ($5 per person) to sharing costs to host a barbeque at challenge or purchase box meals/snacks during or after the event. Outdoor Adventures Description: Spend the day with Outdoor Recreation and take advantage of the many outdoor recreation opportunities in your local area. Depending on the interests of your Airmen and the season, consider participating in one of the following activities: Outdoor Adventures: Hiking, camping, low ropes initiatives High Adventure: Rock climbing, mountain biking Water Sports: Canoeing, surfing, paddle boarding, whitewater rafting and whitewater kayaking Snow Activities: Skiing, snowboarding, sledding Time: 6-8 Hours your NAF $$s ($5 per person) to sharing costs to host a barbeque at adventure. Speed Golf Description: This program is designed to provide an outdoor activity for your squadron/unit. The event combines skill, conditioning and competitive team building within the squadron. Each player will combine their golf score with the time it took to complete the course. Speed Golf will assist with breaking up the squadron s regular routine creating an atmosphere for teambuilding and serves as a morale booster. Time: 2-4 Hours FSS Facility(s): Cypress Lakes Golf Course Snacks will be available and included in the cost. Units may consider using additional Unit Funds/Booster Club $$s to purchase meals at the snack bar (Fairways Grille). 1
2 Squadron Bowl Squadron Fun Day Description: This is a squadron bowling event, designed to provide units the opportunity to enjoy a team building bowling event. Squadron Bowl assists with building morale and team cohesion by affording personnel the ability to develop skills with team-building, unity, and improving communication among team members that typically may not work together. You have the option to build your event around cosmic bowling, no tap, tournaments, etc. Time: 2-3 Hours FSS Facility(s): Travis Bowl Description: Take over local FSS activities for the day! Reserve Cypress Lakes Golf Course, Travis Bowl, and/or Outdoor Recreation facilities (or equipment) for a day of fun. Custom programs can be designed to include recreational bowling, golf outings, driving range fun, fitness classes, pool parties, large party inflatables. Depending on the size of your unit, as well as the availability/size of the facilities, events can be scheduled throughout the day or run concurrently. Time: This program can be tailored for any length of time, location or season. FSS Facility(s): Aquatic Center, Cypress Lakes Golf Course, Fitness Center, Outdoor Recreation, Travis Bowl person) and Unit Funds/Booster Club $$s to purchase meals/pizza at the snack bar (Ten Pin). your NAF $$ ($5 per person) to host a barbeque or purchase meals at any of the FSS locations. Themed Fun Runs (Color Run, Tough Muddler or Warrior Dash) Description: Themed races take the typical 5K to the next level. This program can be tailored for any race length (5K, 10K, ½ marathon) or time. Color Run: An un-timed 5K event in which participants wear white at the starting line and throughout the course of the race and are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. Tough Mudder: A teamwork-focused, 5K obstacle run that is NOT a race rather a collaborative teamwork challenge. Warrior Dash: A 5K obstacle course race which typically includes tackling, sliding, climbing and tunneling through, up and around objects. Time: 4-6 Hours FSS Facility(s): Fitness Center, Outdoor Recreation your NAF $$s ($5 per person) to sharing costs to host a barbeque at the end of the challenge or purchase box meals/snacks during or after the event. 2
3 Xtreme Team Challenge Description: Using local FSS programs, with a programming spin, your unit can rotate facilities and enjoy a day of fun and competitive events to include: Putt Golf Strike Challenge Rockwall Challenge Basketball Challenge Track Challenge Time: 3-5 Hours, depending on the customization of the event. FSS Facility(s): Cypress Lakes Golf Course, Fitness Center, Outdoor Recreation, Travis Bowl your NAF $$s ($5 per person) to sharing costs to host a barbeque at the end of the challenge or purchase box meals/snacks during or after the event. 3
4 Unit Developed Programs (UDP- C3 Developed, Day Approval Needed) UDP Events Specifics Food Beat the Room/ Escape Room Description: This is a great opportunity to celebrate a win, raise team morale, or enjoy some amazing team-building. Beat the Room is an Escape Room experience that is designed for teams of 2-8 participants (a total of 120 people is the max). There are several rooms available, each with its own challenges and puzzles. To be successful, it is important to work as a team to determine each person s strength for thinking strategically and finding innovative methods to be successful. The rooms consist of the following themes: 221B Baker Street-A Sherlock Homes detective mystery room Prohibition- A Scarface mystery set in the 1920 s The Initiation of Vacaville- Uncovering the mystery of a secret society and learning powerful secrets The Plundering- Set in the 1700 s, this room focuses on a royal fortune that was taken on a dark and stormy night Time: 2-3 Hours (units must use personal vehicles for travel) Off-Base Facility(s): Beat the Room, 814 Alamo Drive, Vacaville, your NAF $$ ($5 per person) to offset costs for catering at the event. Build A Bike & Donate Description: This challenge focuses on teambuilding and project management where units will be divided up into teams and presented with a variety of challenges to earn the required parts to complete building a bike. Units can add their personal touch by decorating the completed bike to show off unit spirit and pride. After completion, all bikes will be donated through an AFRC program for military families and a photo will be sent to the unit of the chosen child with his/her new bicycle. The winning team that builds the bike the fastest, will win a prize. Time: 2-4 Hours your person) to offset costs to host a barbeque at challenge or purchase box meals/snacks during or after the event. 4
5 Golf Cart Scavenger Hunt Description: The objective of this program is to build greater team cohesion through innovation and working together to complete fun challenges. The participating unit will be divided into teams; each team will receive golf carts to play (two team members per cart). Each team will receive a map to hidden golf treasures that will assist with leading each team member with determining innovate solutions that will be sent via Smartphone photos. The most innovative photos taken, highlighting the found golf treasures, will receive the most points. Map clues will be similar to: Create a team name & logo and send via Smartphone Take an innovative team photo that highlights the most important item at the golf course (all members must be included in photo) Find a Pro Shop item that best represents your unit (all members must be included in photo) Take a photo of the most expensive item needed to run the golf course (all members must be included in the photo) When did a Travis Facility open? Add those numbers together, subtract 20 and go to that hole to take a photo (all members must be included in photo) Illustrate Adam and Eve at hole 10, remember to be innovative and professional Time: 3-4 Hours, depending on the chosen options for this event. FSS Facility: Cypress Lakes Golf Course The end of event party will highlight all submitted team photos and the winning team will be chosen. The end of event party includes a meal (hotdogs/burgers/chips and soda). Additional food will be available for purchase at Fairways Bar & Grill. Indoor Karting Description: This off-base event takes place at Northern California s premier indoor kart racing facility. Experience teambuilding competitions using European style racing with sophisticated and high speed electric karts. This event is only available Mon-Thurs and the entire facility will be exclusive to your unit (minimum of 45 participants). Fewer participants can reserve this event for an addition cost per person. Time: 3 Hours Cost: Your allotted APF/MOA $$ s will be used for the exclusive rental of the facility, staff and use of the karts. The Unite budget will cover the cost at $750 (minimum of 45 participants) Off-Base Facility(s): Driven Raceway, 1560 Gateway Blvd, Fairfield, your person) to off-set costs for food at the facility. 5
6 Laser Tag Description: Laser tag is a fun team building activity that presents challenges in an environment where units can learn about each other and possibly revel some hidden talents. In addition, this event can assist units with focusing on issues that prevent them from effectively working together. To be as productive as possible, selected teams will need to build group trust. Time: 3 Hours your person) to offset costs to host a barbeque at challenge or purchase box meals/snacks during or after the event. Low Ropes Day Description: Squadrons can choose a variety of objectives that they are seeking and ODR will design a custom day of low ropes initiatives to meet those desired outcomes. Units will need to work together to complete the challenges which involve team building, communication, problem solving and much more. Time: 6-8 Hours your person) to offset costs to host a barbeque at the end of the challenge or purchase box meals/snacks during or after the event. Mobile Nerf Wars Description: Imagine the fun of a nerf competition that travels directly to your work location. As long as it s on Travis AFB, the nerf course can come to your unit building. This mobile activity is guaranteed to capture everyone s interest as it is full of actionpacked excitement that will attract everyone in your unit (military and civilian). Teams are selected and given objectives and strategies to assist with controlling their opponents. Time: 3 Hours Consider combining your person) and unit/booster club funds to provide a catered lunch that is also delivered directly to your event. 6
7 Mobile Rockwall/ Teambuilding 2 U Description: Visualize the fun of a Rockwall that is mobile and comes directly to your work location. As long as it s on Travis AFB, the ODR mobile Rockwall can come to your unit building. The Rockwall challenges will help inspire your team members to excel to new levels of performance, teamwork and unity through exciting tasks on Outdoor Recreation s 32 foot mobile Rockwall. Time: 2-4 Hours Consider combining your person) and unit/booster club funds to provide a catered lunch that is also delivered directly to your event. Mystery Theater & Breakfast Buffet Description: For this unforgettable experience, your unit will be split into teams that includes suspects and criminals. The teams will work together to solve the ultimate crime. This event allows team members to enhance their critical thinking skills, solidify the importance of working together, and have fun while exposing the criminal. Time: 3 hours (9am-12pm) Cost: Your allotted APF/MOA $$ s of $17.50 per person will be used for the facility rental of the DB400 (the club), hiring of actors, and use of staff members. The Unite budget will cover the cost of the event and the Unite NAF funds will offset the breakfast price by $5 (total food cost is $11 per person, minimum of 50 participants). After the Unite NAF offset, each unit participant must pay an additional $6 per person for breakfast (other unit/booster funds can be used to supplement the $6 per person. FSS Facility(s): DB400, ARAMARK Unite NAF funds will offset the brunch price by $5 (total food cost is $11 per person, minimum of 50 participants). After the Unite NAF offset, each unit participant will have an additional $6 for brunch. Navigational Challenge Description: The objective of this challenge is to build greater team cohesion through strategic planning, technical and problem solving skills, mental innovation and working together for efficiency and unity bragging rights. Teams will learn how to use a map, compass and GPS units to navigate their way through a predetermined course earning points and geocache s along the way. One team ultimately will come away victorious; but, all members takeaway new navigational skills that can be used in future outdoor endeavors. Time: 2-4 Hours FSS Facility (s): Outdoor Recreation your person) to offset costs to host a barbeque at challenge or purchase box meals/snacks during or after the event. 7
8 Oil & Tire Change Competition Description: Keep your POV vehicles running in top shape, while enjoying a unique 3 hour team competition that provides valuable vehicle education. Your unit will NOT need to call AAA, after this challenge! This event includes a team competition for changing the lube/oil and filter on a vehicle while also changing the tires. Points will be generated for those that can take direction from the given instructions and work together to complete the vehicle maintenance mission. Prizes will be given to the team that wins the challenge of completing the tasks correctly, quickly and stays clean. Time: 3 Hours FSS Facility(s): Auto Hobby Shop your person) to go to Travis Bowl or Dominos for Pizza. Outdoor Field Olympics Paintball Ultimate Challenge Description: This program is designed for all abilities and will bring community spirit amongst participants as units will be divided into teams to compete against each other in a variety of events, culminating with a podium end finish. Numerous challenges are available to choose from to include the inflatable boxing ring, jousting, sumo wrestling, obstacle course, battleship canoes, tug of war, canoe tug of war, bean bag toss, corn hole toss, basketball, horseshoes and more. Get ready to have fun because that is the purpose of this 3-4 hour morale event Big Fun! All challenges are designed to be entertaining, competitive and to get everyone involved. Teams will earn points while rotating through prearranged stations, ultimately determining who will be the overall Field Olympics Champion. Time: 3-4 Hours & Travisville Park Description: This one is a special treat! Your unit can enjoy one of four (4) new paintball fields, located on base at Ballistic Ben s Paintball Park. Prepare for the ultimate shooter battle experience with war based scenarios and team challenges. All equipment is included, including upgraded paintball battle markers. These innovative team shooting challenges are popular, so reserve your unit s space early. Time: Approximately 2 hours for 6-8 scenario based games Cost: Your allotted APF/MOA $$s will be used to offset the already discounted price of $26 per player. Unite funds will cover $17.50 per person, leaving each unit member with an individual price of $8.50. The Unite special pricing includes the following: Rental package with 100 paintballs 2 hours of games/10-15 minute scenarios Unit MUST provide 2 volunteers for assistance 50 player max FSS Facility(s): ODR & Ballistic Ben s Paintball Park, 125 Armstrong Street, Fairfield, your person) to offset costs to host a barbeque at challenge or purchase box meals/snacks during or after the event. your person) to go to Travis Bowl or Dominos for Pizza. 8
9 Poker Fun Run Professional Teambuilding Description: The Poker Fun Run is a 3-4 hour event and is designed to build greater team cohesion, unit mission education, increase team member trust and create a memorable feel good moment. The event includes a 3 mile walk/run that includes timed challenges to receive poker cards. The team with the highest score will win prize/s. The unit will be divided into teams and will be requested to answer questions about their unit s mission, mixed with fun trivia questions. Correctly answered questions will receive poker cards. Points will be awarded for best times, correct answers and best poker hand. Time: 3-4 Hours FSS Facility(s): Cypress Lakes Golf Course Description: The Travis A&FRC has the tools and instructors needed to assist your unit with leadership skills, cohesive teambuilding, communication skills and balancing the challenges of work/life. Listed are several available workshops: Personal Communication Conflict Resolution Personality Profiles De-Stress Tools Lunch & Learn Relationship Building Time: 1-3 Hours FSS Facility(s): Airman & Family Readiness Center your person) for burgers and hot dogs after the team competition. your NAF $$ s ($5 per person) for light snacks. Squadron Bowl Road Race Description: Utilize the new interactive screens at Travis Bowl! The objective for each team is to hit a Hot Shot (designated pin count) in order to move their car farther along the track until they cross the finish line. This event can be customized to meet the needs of each unit. Option 1--Quick Team Builder: 1 round and 1st the cross wins a prize for the team. *prize will be determined by Travis Bowl or squadron. Option 2- Main Function: Teams of 5 must work together to bowl three strikes before entering the Race, (ie: work to bowl 3 strikes on lane 1 then start bowling on lane 2). There will be 5 team leaders for each team. One team leader will give the start signal, and the other team leaders will verify each strike. There will be no more than 80 people for this race. The race continues until everyone has crossed the finish line. Once the Race is over, teams can switch to any other form of bowling. Prizes will be distributed according to the amount of teams. NAF $$s ($5 per person) and Unit Funds/Booster Club $$s to purchase meals/pizza at the snack bar (Ten Pin). 9
10 Option 3- Teams: Units start bowling with the race and continue until all have finished. Once the Race is over, teams can switch to any other form of bowling. Prizes will be distributed according to the amount of teams. Time: 2-3 Hours FSS Facility(s): Travis Bowl Travis Bowl Showdown Description: The fun begins with an ice breaker activity called three truths and a lie. The unit will be divided into teams and every participant has to tell three truths and one lie about themselves. The teams will have to vote to determine which team knows their unit members best. Next are teambuilding bowling games that will take place, using the new interactive games at Travis Bowl. For larger groups, Travis bowl will allow the building to close for customers, giving the unit the opportunity to use the building exclusively. Having the building exclusively will assist with custom teambuilding activities that will allow each team member to have a personalized photo appear on-screen before each round of bowling. Fun Bowl Games include: Bingo Bowl: Keep scoring fun with custom Bingo cards that allow participants to fill in the boxes (strike, spare, gutter, spare, etc.). Wacky Bowl: Each player has to draw a bowling stance from a bowl (bowl backwards, dancing bowl, Granny bowl, tiptoe bowl, sit down bowl, slow motion bowl, bowl like you CC, etc.). Bowling Relay: Fastest team wins! Use lanes close together and divide all participants into teams. The first players on the teams will start off in sequence with each other rolling his/her ball down the lane. When a ball returns, the next player will grab it and roll it down the ally. It s not about accuracy, it s all about speed. Poker Bowling: For every achieved strike or split, a team gets a card pulled from the top deck. The cards are to be collected until tenth frame. After the tenth frame, all the teams will make their best poker game of the collected cards. The team with the highest bowling score combined with the best poker game wins. Time: 3 Hours FSS Facility(s): Travis Bowl NAF $$s ($5 per person) and Unit Funds/Booster Club $$s to purchase meals/pizza at the snack bar (Ten Pin). 10
11 Travis Marina Retreat Description: Imagine a day of leaving the office, seeing the beautiful views while traveling to Sausalito (near the Bay Area), enjoying a nature hike and participating in a tasty BBQ (included in the cost of this event). If your unit is looking for a relaxing day of fun, then this event was created for them! In addition to exciting views and fun, there is a Travis Marina Bar onsite that is available for additional food/beverage purchases (items purchased at the Travis Marina Bar are not included in the pricing for this event and will be an additional cost. Consider having your unit participants bring extra cash). There are several options for your unit to enjoy the day with the goal of getting to know each other better through fun activities. Recreation options at the Travis Marina include: Biking through trails with beautiful views of the bay Nature and spiritual hikes Canoe racing (**the water is cold, but this is a fun option) Sailing on the bay (**if the water cooperates and is not too choppy) Learning to cook outdoors Time: 6-8 Hours Cost: Your allotted APF/MOA $$ s of $17.50 will be used towards travel and event activities using Outdoor Recreation. In addition to the Unite APF Funds, the event will be an additional $5 per person/participant, which can be paid using unit/booster funds. FSS Facility(s): Travis Marina, 1679 Sommerville Rd, Sausalito, This event includes using your NAF $$s ($5 per person) for the BBQ. Travis Squadron Holiday Card Description: This event allows a small group of unit participants to update their large squadron holiday card that is placed on the grass (directly before the Airman & Family Readiness Center building). The holiday cards are made of wood and are braced with wooden legs. The most effective units will choose 7-10 participants that are creative, think outside the box and have a clear understanding of the unit s mission. A teambuilding activity will also be included and will take place before creating/building the new card. Time: 4-6 Hours Cost: Your allotted APF/MOA $$ s of $17.50 will be used for instruction, wood, paint, brushes, tools and supplies. In addition to the Unite APF Funds, the card will be an additional $150 per unit, which can be paid using unit/booster funds.
