Directions: Located in Bulcher, Texas 15-miles north of Muenster, Texas on FM Road 373. From Interstate 35 in Gainesville, TX travel west on Hwy 82 to Muenster to only stop light. This is FM 373. Travel approximately 15-miles to the main entrance to the Red River Motorcycle Park. Pass the main gate ½-mile to gravel county road at old windmill, Turn right to 3 rd gate, follow gravel road to green metal gate. And in conjunction, would like to offer a trials school on the preceding Friday from around 11am until everyone wears out! At a projected moderate cost of dollars, you can ride, learn and train with several of the top riders in the Nation! The venue is the spectacular Langly/Grand Lake riding area NE of Tulsa and if you have not been there you need to make plans to go! Entry Fee: $5.00 (plus land use/insurance fee, if needed, amount TBD, will be capped at $10. Important Note: It is the intent of the CTTA to run rounds #2 & #3 as AMA Sanctioned Events. The City of Austin requires them to secure insurance in order to hold competition events at Emma Long City Park and the AMA can provide CTTA with affordable insurance. So, assuming this transpires as planned, AMA membership will be required of all competitors at the final two events. If you're not already a member you need to join the AMA Today! Awards Party: End of series awards and a BBQ at the Wolf Den will (immediately) follow round #3 TEXAS YOUTH NATIONALS FUND EVENT: Trials Fun Event scheduled for November 20 at Twin Hills Riding Area in Bridgeport, TX is being hosted by Kerry Duckworth and Larry Doyle who are putting on this event with all profits, donations and proceeds going to the Texas Youth National Fund. 3 Page 3 LOCAL NEWS **MEETING LOCATION** THE OCTOBER 2005 MONTHLY MEETING OF THE IS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6TH, at Mercado Juarez, 2222 Miller Rd. Arlington, TX ( ). From I-30 and Loop 360, go north on loop 360 to Avenue J, turn left (west) to Miller Rd. turn right (north) to 2222 Miller Rd. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM!! Please come to the meeting and bring along a suggestion and your comments. At the September meeting nominations for officers was held and then followed by voting for the upcoming trials season for. All positions were open at the time of the voting; president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and newsletter editor positions. He spent numerous hours working on the newsletter each month and was very helpful in the transition. Bill, please accept my appreciation for a job well done. PRESIDENT S CORNER: We need to remember why we are an organization, each member has an obligation to help promote the sport of Observed Trials by attending Club Meetings, serving as an Observer at all Club events when asked, serving as a Trialsmaster or assisting at least one event per year. Have a voice to express an opinion, but not at the expense of hurting a fellow member. We are all one family! Treat one another with respect! Remember that our sport needs volunteers to host or help at a Trial by running the sign-up table, helping to bring or organize the dinners at 2-day events, section or loop tear down and helping with the Rookies. Ask if someone needs help! Don't wait to be asked! TECH TALK: Grip installation techniques from the membership we gleaned the following methods of installing new grips; Justin spray paint (flat black dries quickest) Frank gasoline (not premix and don t forget to safety wire afterwards) Chris lacquer thinner, Gas-ca-Cinch adhesive or 3M adhesive (ditto on the safety wire) EDITORS SOAPBOX I want to emphasize the importance of joining the Blue Ribbon Coalition. They re the only organization with the pelotas to take on the environmentalists and challenge their fabricated and hyped positions. Their lawsuits challenging offroad access are based on hysteria, perpetuated by the media and the duped

4 Page 4 public. BRC has amassed their own panel of experts and has a good track record in reversing several decisions affecting ORV access in many areas. That s half of what the AMA charges and I ll tell you, if I didn t have to belong to the AMA for insurance purposes, I wouldn t be a member. I m stepping off my soapbox. CLUB EVENT: The September club event at Red River Motorcycle Park was held on a typical Texas day, warm in the morning and HOT AND HUMID in the afternoon. There was a brief shower towards the end of the day. Keith Lewis and Chris Denney provided a variety of sections for the event with lots of rocks, tight turns, up hills, down hills and a few gaps. This was a very technical event and you had to stay focused. We rode seven sections, four loops in the morning and seven sections with three loops in the afternoon.
