Club Meetings SSCC meetings to the third Wednesday of the month, at 6:30 our new meeting space will be at Southern Oregon Subaru at 3103 Biddle Rd, Medford, OR The Club is drawing for free Sunday entries. Drawing will be held at the end of each monthly meeting. Next meeting Wednesday, Please join us and you could win! Note From the Competition Director RCS 7 has come and gone and the points race for RCS 2017 in the books. This event was particularly awesome because of the great weather and the fantastic turn-out. We had a few new faces and cars and we really appreciate everyone who made it out. The final night event of the season was our best yet. Endless Summer Night featured 20+ drivers and some very competitive times. Hopefully you all had fun with those events this year. We'll see how next year shapes up for the lights...perhaps a separate points series could be in the future. Sadly, there's only one more chance this year to get your speed on and the Fall Enduro should be a blast for all. Average temp for that weekend in Medford is 75 f. and average rainfall is 0.02", so here's hoping for perfect race weather Oct. 6, 7 and 8. Thanks to each and every person who took part in our events this year - see you at the Enduro! Memorial Scholarships SSCC has received thank you letters from this year s recipients of the Terry Hinesly and Tom McDaniel memorial scholarships which the club funds. Both scholarships award $1,000 each to assist students in Rogue Community College s automotive technology program. Recipients of the scholarships this year are Gabriel Tayson and Mariah Starns, both from Grants Pass. Tayson, who received the Tom McDaniel scholarship, wrote in-part: I cannot thank you enough for this opportunity. I have a love of all things mechanical and this scholarship helps tremendously. I hope to use my education to further my dreams of working in the automotive field. Tayson wrote that he is contemplating continuing education at a university to complete a degree in mechanical engineering. Starns, who received the Terry Hinesly scholarship, wrote in-part: Thank you so much for accepting me as your scholarship recipient, and providing me with a way to continue paying for school. Some of this money I plan on using for tools to help me progress through the automotive program and my feature endeavors. After completing her degree in automotive technology, Starns hopes to earn a degree in diesel technology and then a degree in business. Her dream is to own a shop and ultimately earn a mechanical engineering degree. SSCC is part the President s Circle for individuals or organizations that contribute $1,000 or more annually to the RCC Foundation. Full-time student tuition at RCC will average $5,900 per student next year.

White City, OR Saturday opens at 9am practice after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday being only $10.00, if you did not run earlier that day. -Fee:$25 SSCC members, $30 non-members. Registration, tech inspection and practice from 8:30AM - 4:00PM. Sunday-Fee:$20 SSCC members, $30 non-members, $5.00 first timer, plus $1.00 TIF* per driver. Registration and tech inspection 7:30-8:30AM. Mandatory drivers meeting is at 8:45 AM. Timed runs start at 9:00AM. A Word From Our Partners at Rogue Spartans Racing 09/12/2017 Bryan Canon Rogue Spartans Racing Back in April I was given an old race car that had sat for years. I decided to use it as an outreach tool for other veterans, and Rogue Spartans Racing was the result. We struggled with consistent participation at first, and a whole slew of mechanical and funding issues, but we managed to hang in there and have a little success, and a whole lot of fun. We have a good committed group now in Vic Birdseye, Sean Hillis, Brandon Mollette, Kyle Williams, and myself, and are looking forward to the fall enduro and next season. Our sponsor, All Aspects Building and Design, will be helping us to complete the process of becoming a non-profit over the course of the next few months, which will allow us to involve more veterans in future seasons. 4 Lorem Ipsum Course: Siskiyou Sports Car Club presents 43nd Annual Fall Enduro October 6-8, 2017 Five laps, outside track, clockwise, one timed run that varies from 4 to 5 minutes. Cost: Pre-Registration, SSCC & other club members - $66.00; Non-members - $ At track, add $5.00. Refunds: Refunds will only be offered if contact is made by Thursday, October 5, at 4 p.m. Practice Groups (A,B or C): Choose your first and second preferences on the entry form for your desired Friday: practice group. Earliest entries will have first placement. Maximum of 24 cars in a group. Tech & Practice for pre-registered drivers only, 1:00-4:30 pm practice group A, open 4:30 - dusk. Saturday: Registration, Tech & Practice: 9:00 a.m.- 12:30 for practice group B, 1:00-4:30 practice group C. Sunday: Registration & Tech 8:15-1:00. Timed runs start 9:00 a.m. (see Run Groups below). Brief mandatory meeting at 8:30 a.m. for groups 1 & 2, 10:50 a.m. for groups 3 & 4, 1:10 p.m. for groups 5 & 6. If you miss the driversʼ meeting for your run group, you will loose your position in that group. Cars should be ready to grid immediately after the meeting. 5 5 Registration: Entrants may register by mailing in an entry or registering online at MotorsportReg.com (MSR). If MSR is used and a refund is needed from SSCC because the entrant cancelled, the refund will be minus the MSR fees of about 5.3%. Information: Event limited to 72 drivers. Applicants must send completed entry form with full payment. Sorry, no phone entries or entries, no one-day discounts. Entries will be processed in the order they are received. You will receive a confirmation call or , if entries are received by Monday, Oct. 3. We can not be responsible for any lost entries or slow mail. A valid driverʼs license will be shown at registration. All open cockpit cars must have a roll bar that complies with the clubʼs rules for roll bars, on our website. Roll bars must pass tech inspection; most factory roll bars are not acceptable. If under the age of 18, a parent must sign a release at the track or in front of a notary. Please contact us to obtain the release form. THIS IS NOT A DRIFTING EVENT. Anyone who drifts on our track will be asked to leave without a refund. To make sure you get the proper sized T-shirt, your entry must be received by Friday, Sept. 23, There will be a 24 car/driver limit per practice session. Once a practice session is full, entries will be given their second choice if it is not full. Helmets need to be 2005 or newer Please call Cari at during the weekend if it turns out that you can not make it to the event. The next person on the waiting list will be notified of the opening. Thank you!! Location: Jackson County Sports Park, White City. From I-5, take Crater Lake exit #30. Head east on Hwy. 62 for approximately 6 miles. Turn right (east) onto Hwy. 140, toward Klamath Falls. After 2.3 miles, turn right (south) on Kershaw Road. After about 1/2 mile, turn left into the entrance to the Sports Park. Then right to the Autocross track. Member Entry Fee: To use the Member Entry Fee amount, you must provide the name of your current autocross club affiliation and provide proof of current membership when you check in at registration. SSCC RCS ROC The Rogue Challenge Series, Race Of Champions will be on Saturday, Oct. 8, when practice runs finish at 4:30. The class champions will each drive a specific course, each taking a turn to drive the same car Year End Banquet: All are invited to attend the annual awards dinner on Saturday evening, October 7. It will be a dinner, catered by Sweet Tea Express, at the track. It will be BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and BBQ chicken with corn on the cob and potatoes. BYOB for any other beverage. Social time will start after the last ROC driver finishes and dinner will be at 6:00. Cost is free for participants in 4 or more of SSCC events this season. Otherwise, cost is $20 per person, children 12 or under $10. Payment of dinners needs to be received by the registrar by Tuesday, Oct. 3 to be included at the dinner.
