3 COLLEGE PROFILE/ATHLETICS PROGRAM OUTLINE AND CONTACTS Located at the foot of the Blue Mountains in Southeastern Washington, Walla Walla Community College offers a variety of academic transfer programs and over 30 technical and paraprofessional programs. The twin communities of Walla Walla and College Place house a wide variety of agriculture, manufacturing, business and government employers. The communities are also home to Whitman College, Walla Walla College, and Walla Walla Community College, adding an educational base and cultural opportunities to the historic region. Warm Summers, crisp Winters, and beautiful Spring and Fall months provide four distinct seasons to enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. 4 2007 COACHING STAFF Chad Bodnar Head Coach Men s and Women s Soccer BA, Washington State, 2003 Chad Bodnar is entering his third season at the helm of the Warrior Soccer program. In his first season Bodnar compiled a school best record and added the programs third consecutive Eastern Region Title to its belt. The Warrior Women ran off 26 straight games unbeaten in 2005 before falling in the NWAACC Championship in Overtime. The 2006 Warrior squad again reached the final under Coach Bodnar and finished with a 23-2 record. Coach Bodnar was named the NE Region Coach of the year in 2005 in just his first season in charge and has placed 6 players to Division 1 schools in his two years. Bodnar worked as an assistant with the Women s program during the 2001 season in which the Warriors were NWAACC finalists. He then took some time away from the program as he joined the Boise Capitals Soccer Club in Idaho as a Youth Director before he rejoined the Warriors in Bodnar also took over the Men s program at WWCC that has been to three consecutive NWAACC Final Four Tournaments. Prior to his appointment with Walla Walla CC, Bodnar succeeded as the Head Coach of the Pasco High School boys program in the Big Nine 4A Conference in Washington. The Bulldogs qualified for State 4A tournament play the past two seasons and finished the 2005 season as Washington State finalists after winning the Eastern Regional Tournament and Big Nine Championship. Bodnar was named the 2005 All Region Coach of the Year by the Tri-City Herald for his performance. A former Big Nine All Conference selection and USYSA Western Region IV team selection as a youth player, Bodnar went on to start four years for Wisconsin-Green Bay (NCAA Division I) and earn Midwest Collegiate Conference all-conference honors 2 years. He was named team captain his sophomore through senior seasons and was the team MVP in Upon completion of his eligibility, Bodnar played professionally for the Stanislaus United Cruisers in the Western Conference USSL League in California and for the Yakima Reds in the PDL League in Washington. Coach Bodnar has also guided the Allouez United U14 boys club team in Wisconsin to an appearance in the final of the Midwest Regional Championships as well as worked in the Wisconsin-Green Bay Soccer Camps and with Ziemer Brothers Soccer Camps in California. Coach Bodnar holds a NSCAA National License and Advanced National DIploma. Coach Bodnar finished his undergrad work at Washington State University with a degree in Humanities. Coach Bodnar is married to wife Lindsay and resides in Pasco, WA. Greg Preciado 1 st Season Assistant Coach Men s & Women s Soccer Greg Preciado is entering his first year as a member of the Warrior Soccer staff. Preciado will assist both the Men s and Women s teams and will focus primarily with on field training and will be assisting heavily with recruiting for both programs. Prior to his coaching career Greg had an outstanding playing career at both WWCC and then Evergreen College. An all- conference player at both colleges Greg led the Geoducks to a National Final Four appearance his senior year. Greg then went on to Play professionally in Mexico where he spent a year playing and training. Greg has also been a member of the PDL Indiana Invaders. Quoting Coach Bodnar, Having worked with Greg as a player, I know he possesses a great deal of pride in what he does. He is a hard working individual and will be a great asset to our program. I look forward to having Greg on staff this fall. Aldo Munoz 1st Season Coach Munoz enters the 2007 season as an assistant to the Warriors for the first time. Munoz will assist the Warriors with on field training and handle all travel duties. Munoz, another ex- Warrior player moved on to play at Truman State in Missouri before coming back to join the WWCC staff. A state champion in high school at Wahluke, Aldo was an all conference performer every where he went. Munoz joined the Warrior staff in the spring and has been a valuable asset to training. Quoting Coach Bodnar, Aldo will be a huge addition to the staff this fall. His knowledge of the game is tremendous, and he is an incredible addition to us in terms of on and off field preparations. I am glad we get a chance to welcome him back to the program and hope he sticks around for a long time. Mike Pardini 1st season Coach Pardini enters the first year of his stint on the WWCC staff with great knowledge of Coach Bodnar s philosophy. A former assistant to Bodnar at Pasco high school, Pardini led the Bulldogs to a State Title in Pardini s duties will primarily focus on Match day preparations and recruiting. Pardini was an All Conference performer at Pasco HS with Bodnar and then moved on to play at Seattle Pacific University where he starred for four years. Coach Pardini was drafted by the Seattle Sounders and had a brief stint with them before coming home. Pardini was named Washington State HS coach of the year in Quoting Coach Bodnar, Mike is a valued asset to our program. I have worked with him previously, and appreciate his knowledge for the game as a player and as a coach. We share a very similar philosophy and have shared a lot of success together. I am very glad to have him as a part of our program and look forward to working with him again. 4

5 2007 COACHING STAFF WARRIORS IN THE COMMUNITY Kyle Vierck 1st Season (Goal Keepers) Coach Vierck joins the Warrior staff this fall with an incredible amount of knowledge in dealing with Goalkeepers. A former All Conference performer and player at Montana State and Butler University, Vierck will focus his attention in to molding WWCC goalkeepers in to all conference performers. The Warriors have a valued tradition of good goalkeeping and Vierck will look to continue the success. Vierck has been a Head high school coach at Southridge HS in Kennewick WA, and Hanford HS in Richland WA. Quoting Coach Bodnar, Kyle likes to work hard and push people to reach their highest potential. He has great experience as an assistant and a head coach and will be a valuable asset to the WWCC goalkeepers. I am glad we have a chance to have Kyle as a part of our program. The Warrior Soccer Program is very active in the local Walla Walla community and involved in several outreach programs to work with local youth. Current and former Warrior players will be working again this school year to provide mentors for the local Walla Walla Parks and Recreation community program and also to provide technical coaching for the Blue Mountain Soccer Club. Players are licensed through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and spend at least one evening a week with the children. In addition, coach Bodnar is an active speaker with the Educational Talent Search and Gear Up programs which reaches out to children in the elementary and secondary schools in the Walla Walla Valley. Coach Bodnar also hosts local coaching clinics for youth coaches around the Walla Walla Valley. With a very active scholarship initiative to reach at risk youth, the Warrior camp and academy program attracted over 150 players from ages 5-12 years of age over the school year. With our mentoring program entering its third year with Walla Walla Youth Soccer in place for this coming Fall, we hope to effect close to 1000 athletes in the Walla Walla Valley Community. In addition, Warrior Soccer is home to the Blue Mountain Exchange held every March for girls at the TCYSA Complex in Pasco and for boys in Walla Walla, WA. Held in co-operation with Three Rivers and the Blue Mountain Soccer Club, the Blue Mountain Exchange attracted better than 100 Premier teams to the region from across the Northwest and Canada. The Exchange has grown into an annual event featuring an NCAA Showcase and lively entertainment throughout the weekend to augment the high level of play on the field. The Blue Mountain Exchange has become a vital part of the spring economy in Walla Walla and the Tri Cities and an annual event on the Northwest Soccer calendar. 5

7 2007 PLAYER PROFILES WOMEN 1 1 Sharee Fitzgerald 5 8 Pasco HS, Pasco, WA Sophomore Goalkeeper 2 Taylor Sinclair 5 6 Richland HS, Richland, WA Sophomore Centerback A goalkeeper hailing from Pasco, Sharee brings big talent to the 2007 warriors. While in High School, Sharee was the team Captain of both her soccer and softball teams, and was a 1 st team all Big Nine Selection and team MVP her senior year in Soccer. A former Three Rivers Soccer Club product and State Finalist, Sharee has the frame and athletic ability to develop in to a D-1 Goalkeeper. She is very mobile, has good hands, and is a good organizer out of the back. In 2006 Sharee started in 20 games and held opponents to less then a goal per game average. She was an NWAACC all conference performer and also plays softball for the Warriors Statistics GS GP GA GAA Fitzgerald A product of state perennial powerhouse Richland HS, Taylor was an All Conference selection for three years, and an All State Selection her Senior Year. A Three Rivers club p layer, Taylor was selected as High School MVP and club MVP and a Tri City Herald all area team. Taylor led Richland to 3 District Titles, a State Title, and a Runner up finish while playing for her High School. In 2006 Sinclair anchored the backline and was an NWAACC all conference performer. With good speed and very good technical ability, Taylor will look to anchor a solid backline this year for the Warriors, and will captain the squad Statistics GS GP G A Pts SInclair Jones Renz 3 Justine Jones 5 7 Richland HS, Richland, WA Sophomore Forward 4 Tana Renz 5 8 Pasco HS, Pasco, WA Sophomore Centerback Justine left Richland High School as one of the top players to ever come through the school from one of Washington State s best schools for girl s soccer. While in high school, Justine won a state championship, and a State Runner Up placing in her four years. She was A Big Nine All Conference Selection and All State player for the 4A Division. A former member of Three Rivers soccer club, Justine has been a dominant force throughout her high school career. Justine also participated in Basketball at RHS. She will be a definite goal scoring threat and will add a ton of ability to an already very talented Warrior midfield and forward line. Jones was a 2006 NWAACC all conference performer and scored 14 goals. Jones will be a captain in : Renz was an All- Conference Selection out of Pasco HS in Washington where she lettered in soccer and Basketball. She also played for Three Rivers SC in the Tri Cities and helped them to two Washington State Semi Finals and a State Final. Tana s a strong student athlete who s been exceptional in the classroom and on the playing field. She s tenacious and has the ability to help teams with her work ethic and attitude. Her athleticism will allow her to be a key component to the 2007 Warrior squad. Tana helped anchor a Warrior backline that led the league in GAA. 8 2007 PLAYER PROFILES WOMEN 5 Alli Krous 5 6 Eisenhower HS, Yakima, WA Sophomore Midfield 8 Danielle Rodriguez 5 3 Hamilton HS, Hamilton MT Sophomore Midfield : A Big Nine All Conference Selection for Coach Rick Hill at Eisenhower HS. Voted team MVP and Captain. Played Club Soccer for Sun City Strikers out of Yakima. Also competed in Track and was a regional participant. Alli possesses some fantastic athletic ability and a good frame for a collegiate athlete. She has the ability to dominate games with her work rate and technical ability. Krous scored 11 goals in 2006 and was an NWAACC all conference performer. : Rodriguez was an All-Conference performer for Hamilton HS in Montana. While in HS Rodriguez led Hamilton to 2 State Championship appearances winning one. She was a 2005 All State Selection and team captain. Danielle possesses a tremendous amount of technical ability. She is a crafty little player that has good vision and can contribute quite a bit to the middle of the park in 2007 and also played up top for the Warriors in Danielle scored 13 goals in 2006 and will look to add to that number this year Statistics GS GP G A Pts Krous 2006 Statistics GS GP G A Pts Rodriguez Weber Duffy 11 Ellie Weber 5 4 Great Falls HS, Great Falls MT Sophomore Midfielder 12 Candice Duffy 5 6 Idaho Falls HS, Idaho Falls, ID Sophomore Forward : Ellie was an all conference selection in both Track and Soccer while at GFHS. She possesses a tremendous amount of speed and athletic ability and a motor that doesn t stop. Ellie played a ton of minutes for the Warriors In 2006 and is expected to anchor the back four this year. Ellie s brother Max captained the Warrior Men s team in Statistics GS GP G A Pts : An All-Conference selection and two time Player of the Year for her 5a Conference in Idaho. A member of the Post Register all area team and 4 Time Letter winner and all conference selection. Duffy is an Idaho ODP product and led the state in goals her Junior year with 33. Candice has the ability to be a dominant striker in our conference this year. She has a good combination of strength and pace and can change a game with her ability to score goals. Candice scored 20 goals in 2006 and came in to form at just the right time scoring a vital goal In the Semi finals last year. 9 2007 PLAYER PROFILES WOMEN 1 6 Tori Allmaras 5 10 Sandpoint HS, Sandpoint ID Sophomore Centerback 23 Hailey Bohnet 5 7 Walla Walla HS, Walla Walla, WA Sophomore Midfield Tori led Sandpoint HS to 3 District titles and a State Championship in her four years. She was a three time all conference selection and an all league Defensive Player of the year in She was also voted all state defensive player and team captain the same season. Tori has a tremendous frame and will look to be a dominant force in the backline. Allmaras played a lot of minutes in the Warrior midfield last fall. Her ability to win balls in the air and tackle well off her feet will be valuable assets to the 2007 Warriors Statistics GS GP G A Pts A Big Nine all Conference selection and former State Finalist for Three Rivers Soccer Club. Also competed in Track at Wa-Hi. Hailey is a diverse player who can play in the midfield or in the back. She has a great work ethic and the ability to progress very quickly. Hailey scored 9 goals in 2006 and was an asset in both the midfield and up top for the Warriors Statistics GS GP G A Pts Bohnet Allmaras 7 Shayna Jones Mcneill 19 Corrie Mcneill 5 6 Southridge HS, Kennewick WA Sophomore Midfield Borah HS, Borah, ID Freshman Fullback/ Midfield An all conference performer as a midfielder at Borah High in Boise, Shayna is a very talented athlete. Jones played with the Boise Capitals soccer club and was a member of Idaho odp. With her tenacity and work rate Shayna will compete for a starting spot right away and will add a tremendous amount of depth for the Warriors in Mcneill is a product of Southridge HS and played her club soccer for Three Rivers in Washington. A Big Nine All Conference selection and Team Captain while playing in high school for coach Greg Sombrano. Corrie has the potential to grow into a very good college player. She s got great height and pace and has the ability to get forward. She is also a very versatile player which will create the opportunity for her to dominate opponents this fall. Corrie was an NWAACC all conference performer in 2006 and scored 13 goals. She contributed a great amount of time both up front and in the midfield for the Warriors in 2006 and will be looked upon to do the same this fall Statistics GS GP G A Pts Sidonia Davin Kamiakin HS, Kennewick, WA Freshman Midfield Sidonia Davin is an All conference midfielder out of highly touted Kamiakin high school in Kennewick Wa. Davin won a Mid Valley league championship while at Kamiakin and helped guide the Braves in to a state quarterfinal appearance. Her pace and athleticism will add a needed dimension in the midfield and up top for the Warriors in 2007, and she will look to play valuable minutes. 9

10 2007 PLAYER PROFILES WOMEN 14 Arielle Gonzalez Middleton HS, Middleton, ID Freshman Forward Arielle joins the 2007 edition of the Warriors as an all conference performer and all state selection in Idaho. Gonzalez captained her Middleton High school squad that was very successful in Her strength and work rate will add depth to a strong Warrior backline and Arielle will look to adjust to the college game quickly. 15 Jennifer Finders Boise HS, Boise, ID Freshman Midfield Finders comes to WWCC from Boise High School in Boise Idaho. An all conference performer while at Boise, Jenn also competed for the Boise Capitals soccer club and was a member of Idaho odp. Finders helped lead Boise High to a State title in 2005 before injuring her knee and missing the 2006 season. Jenn is fit and ready to play and will be very valuable in the Warrior midfield in Jenn s sister Dana was a member of the 2003 and 2004 WWCC team. 21 Liz Homer Hanford HS, Richland, WA Freshman Goalkeeper Homer comes to Walla Walla from Hanford High School in Richland Wa. Liz was an all conference goalkeeper while at Hanford and helped lead the team to two mid Valley league championships. A very athletic and tall goalkeeper, Homer will look to challenge Sharee Fitzgerald for time in goal. The Warriors will be blessed with two goalkeepers who could start on any team in the NWAACC SEASON PREVIEW WOMEN With the addition of some quality freshman and the returning of 12 from last year s NE Champion and NWAACC Runners up, the Warrior Women look to be very strong again in After winning the Division Title the last four years in a row, this year s group has a strong tradition and high expectations coming in to the 2007 season. With quality speed all over the field and a mix of experience and technical ability, the Warriors will look to make a run deep in to the post season once again this year. I am always very excited and optimistic when I look at the quality of student athlete we get to be a part of our program here at WWCC. We work very hard in the off season to bring in good people, and this year s class will be no different. With good leadership and hard work, I am confident we will be contenders again this year when the end of the season rolls around. (Warriors Coach Chad Bodnar) FORWARDS The 2007 Warrior front runners will look to once again be one of the most dangerous front lines in the conference, despite losing NWAACC MVP Lauryn Koelzer. With returning all conference performers Candice Duffy and Corrie Mcneill and a pair of returners in Hailey Bohnet and Danielle Rodriguez who both hit double digits in goals last year, there is no fire power lacking. Justine Jones and Alli Krous also saw time up front last season when goals were needed. A lot of experience and explosiveness from this group should lead to problems for many teams in the NWAACC. This is an exciting group to have back. There are six or seven girls fighting for two or three spots up top, and all of them are dangerous. I am looking forward to seeing a lot of balls hit the back of the net this season Midfield Experience, once again describes the midfield of the Warriors in All NWAACC performers Jones and Krous will anchor the middle of the park, and Tori Almaras returns after having gained a ton of experience in Jennifer Finders and Sidonia Davin will add a lot of technical ability and pace after coming of very successful high school and club careers. Finders won two state titles as a high school player at Boise HS in Idaho and multiple Club state Championships anchoring the middle of the park. Davin helped lead Kamiakin HS to a CBL title and will look to add depth and quickness to the midfield. Losing Welch and Nebeker last year hurts, but Jones and Krous ran the midfield for us in Mcneill can pop in and out of the Midfield, and Davin and Finders were two of the first kids I went after last fall. They are both very good players and will make an impact right away. We are very solid in the Midfield, and the depth allows us to pop in and out of a few different shapes to give our opponents some different looks. Backs The 2007 backline will be very similar to the 2006 backline for the Warriors with returning ALL Conference centerback Taylor Sinclair anchoring the middle. Captain Tana Renz and returning starter Ellie Weber will be joined by Newcomer Arielle Gonzales and Shayna Jones who will both be competing for the fourth spot. This group will miss Lydia Beyerlein to NCAA D-1 U. Wisconsin Green Bay, but will add some depth in Gonzales and Jones. We have some options in what we do in the back with the three returning players we have. Jones could see some time as a fullback, or in the Midfield for the Warriors and Arielle was an Idaho All State Selection. I am very confident in the abilities and the work rates of Renz, Weber, and Sinclair. With the goal keeping we have and this group of players in front of them, we should be very tough to score on this fall. Goalkeepers The Warriors have had All Conference goal keepers the last five years and this year looks to be no different. The 2007 duo of returning NWAACC NE All Conference selection Sharee Fitzgerald, and MVL All Conference Selection Liz Homer look to be one of the best duos in the NWAACC. Fitzgerald comes in healthy this year after fighting mono last summer and still being selected all conference. Homer has the size and ability to be a very good college player and will push Fitzgerald for minutes all year. I thought the depth at the goalkeeping position last year let us down a little and wanted to fix it this fall. We have definitely added depth in Liz. She is extremely athletic, and has a great physique for a goalkeeper. Sharee will be pushed this year, which will make her better in the long run. I am excited about having these two in training all year. 10

Also won a Big Nine Championship in football with the Bulldogs as a senior. Jason led the NE conference in 2006 with close to a.5 GAA. A quick forward, Corona is diverse enough to fill several roles in attack and has the ability to become a dangerous collegiate player. Corona scored 2 goals and had 3 assists while playing in 17 games for the Warriors in Corona can play a variety of roles and has become a very good player for the Warriors. A dynamic attacking personality, Morales was a big part of two District Titles for the Bulldogs and played in the 2004 Washington 4A state final. A physically and technically gifted attacking player who can make an impact at many levels collegiately. Named an All-Conference selection his senior season. Won a Montana State Cup with his club team, Flathead Force FC, in An athletic outside midfielder with the ability to play as a fullback on the left side. Young scored 3 goals and had 2 assists while participating in 16 games for the Warriors in Alex has a tremendous amount of speed and can change a game with his pace. He will be utilized up top and out wide for the Warriors in Young 2006 Statistics GS GP G A Pts YC RC Griffiths was a two time Southern Idaho All-Conference selection for Timberline High School. Has won five Idaho State championships with Boise Nationals Soccer Club and has advanced to the Far West Regional semifinals three times. Was a three time Idaho State ODP selection and was named Timberline s midfielder of the year in Griffith s a competitive personality who is capable of playing as a holding central player or wide in the midfield. Griffiths scored 2 goals and participated in 19 games for the Warriors in He will be looked upon to compete for a starting role in the midfield in 2007 and add valuable experience to a very young group. Griffiths Merkley 13 Jimmy Merkley MF/F 5 8 SO Pocatello HS Pocatello Idaho 2006 Statistics GS GP G A Pts YC RC Merkley was a three time All-Conference selection and twice named an All-Area selection for Pocatello High School in Eastern Idaho. Scored four goals and added nine assists during his senior season playing as a fullback. Plays his club soccer for PVSC in Pocatello. Merkley has the tools to play as an effective attacking midfielder or as an outside fullback/midfielder Merkley tallied 1 assist and played in 17 games for the Warriors in 2006, and will add a significant amount of depth to the Warrior Midfield this fall 14

Washington State 4A first team selection as a senior defender. Big Nine Co-Player of the Year, Big Nine First Team and Tri-Cities All Region first team selection his senior season. Franky has the potential to immediately impact the team and become a dominant presence in the NWAACC. He s a strong leader and has stepped into a major role for the team right away. Licon was an All-Conference performer and scored 2 goals for the Warriors in He will captain the squad and will be expected to once again anchor the Backline. Licon Neal was a vital part of the first Warrior Men s team to make a final four appearance. Bryan went on his mission and returns to the Warriors after being in England for two years. In 2004 Neal started 20 games and was the anchor of the Warrior midfield. A native of Eisenhower high school in Yakima, Bryan led the Cadets for four years. Neal was a Big Nine all conference selection 3 years and was a member of the Yakima Reds in the PDL League. A midfielder with a lot of bite and good technical ability, the 2007 Warriors look for him to pick up right where he left off and be a vital part of the midfield this fall. 2 Brian Buckingham MF 5 11 FR Centennial HS Boise, ID Buckingham was an all conference selection at Centennial High School in Boise and was a part of a state championship squad in Brian can play a vital role in many different spots this year and will look to compete for a starting role right away. With pace, and good vision, Brian s understanding of the game will place him amongst the best in the NWACC right away, and the 2007 Warrior squad is expecting great contributions from him. 8 Kyle Foster CB 6 1 SO-TR West Valley HS Yakima, WA 3 Louis Mendoza FW 5 6 FR Prosser HS Prosser, WA Foster was a standout all conference performer at perennial power house W. Valley HS in Yakima. After being an All Conference selection 3 years at W. Valley Foster went on to play at NAIA Northwest University in Kirkland for a year. After starting 18 games at Northwest, Foster decided to head home and was the PDL player of the week twice for the Yakima Reds in the Premier Development league. With good athleticism, and bone crunching tackling abilities- Foster will look to be a force in the backline for the Warriors in In Brief Mendoza led the Mustangs in goals scored the last three years and guided Prosser in to its first ever state quarterfinal appearance. A one time member of Three Rivers Soccer Club, Louis was an all conference performer and was voted to the first team all state squad for Washington. A very quick and determined player who has the knack for finding the back of the net, Mendoza will look to be an added threat up top for the Warriors in

16 2007 PLAYER PROFILES MEN 4 Rocky Snyder MF 5 8 FR Pasco HS Pasco, WA 10 Brock Ogami MF 5 8 FR Borah HS Boise, ID Rocky Snyder helped lead Pasco High School to a State title in He was recognized for his efforts by being named 1st Team All-CBL, 1st Team All-Area, and 2nd Team All-State. During his Junior and Senior year he piled up 30 assists which is the top two year assist mark for a Bulldog. While playing for the Bulldogs he was named All-League three times and All-Area twice. Won two district titles, two Regional titles and played in two state finals in his four years. Snyder is extremely quick on and off the ball. He has the ability to penetrate a defense either with his creative dribbling or passing. Also extremely dangerous service on set plays. Rocky played for Coach Bodnar at PHS and then for current assistant Mike Pardini. Ogami is no stranger to WWCC as he follows in his brother s footsteps after two years of playing for the Warriors. Brock helped lead Borah to two state final appearances and was a member of both the Boise Capital and Boise National Soccer Clubs that both won state championships. A fierce competitor and a player that can play in multiple roles, Brock will see valuable minutes for the Warriors in With good speed and a ton of heart the Warriors are looking for Brock to be an asset to their run to the final four. 5 Beau Morton MF/CB 5 9 FR East Valley HS Yakima, WA 15 Chris Reid MF/F 5 10 FR West Valley HS Yakima, WA Beau was the 2006 MVP of the 2A league in the state of Washington. Playing for his father, Beau led the Red Devils to a 2A state championship and marked his name in the record books as one of the best players to come out of Eastern Washington for the 2A ranks. Beau possesses a great amount of technical ability and a love for the game that is unsurpassed. His work rate and understanding of the game will add depth to a highly rated Warrior midfield in Beau has been a part of the PDL Yakima Reds and has traveled and trained in Brazil as a part of an exchange. Chris was an all conference performer for the Rams In the Mid Valley League 3a division- one of the toughest In the state. With his athletic ability, Chris can provide depth to the Warriors in several different spots this fall. He has the ability to play out wide, In the back, and even up front which will allow him to earn quality minutes. Reid s sister was a Warrior athlete and played volleyball for coach Toon at WWCC. 6 Jake Underwood FB/MF 5 8 FR Timberline HS Boise, ID 16 Sherlock Holmes CB 5 11 FR East Valley HS Moxee, WA Jake was an all conference performer for Timberline HS who placed fourth in the state of Idaho in Playing for coach Steve Brent, Underwood helped the Wolves to a semi final appearance, and spent time both in the midfield and in the back. Underwood was a member of the state champion Boise National soccer club. A very strong player with good pace, Jake will compete for minutes in the midfield for the Warriors In Sherlock was a 2A all- state selection in 2006 and led the Red Devils to a 2A state championship. A 3 time all conference selection, Sherlock has good pace, and is very good in the air. His understanding of how to play in the back, and his physical prowess will allow Sherlock to compete for quality minutes in Holmes was also a part of a group that trained in Brazil with professional clubs and he saw time with the PDL Reds in Yakima. 16

17 2007 PLAYER PROFILES MEN 18 Bryce Wilson MF/F 5 10 FR Pasco HS Pasco, WA 25 Jeremiah Robinson GK 5 7 FR Lewiston HS Lewiston, ID Bryce Wilson helped lead Pasco High School to a State title in 2007, and is the only Bulldog ever to score in two State Final matches. Wilson led the Columbia Basin league in assists his senior year with 18. He Tallied 16 goals in his final two years as a Bulldog. Was named 1st Team All-CBL, 1st Team All-Area, and 1st Team All-State as a Senior. Won two district titles, two Regional titles and played in two state finals as a Bulldog. Bryce is an explosive player, and has enough athletism to play in the midfield and up top for the Warriors. His pace and ability to use both feet will make him a tough mark in the NWAACC. Wilson played for Head Coach Bodnar at PHS and then for current Warrior Assistant Mike Pardini. Hailing from Lewiston HS in Lewiston Idaho, Robinson was an all conference selection in goal for his high school squad. A quick and athletic Goalkeeper, and a very good shot stopper, Jeremiah will look to gain some valuable minutes and adapt to a much quicker college game in He will gain some valuable training from GK coach Vierck and look to improve quickly under the wings of returner Schadler.] 19 Jordan Hacker CB 5 10 FR West Valley HS Yakima, WA 26 Rafael Sanchez CB 6 1 FR Wahluke HS Mattawa, WA Hacker is another player to follow in his brother s footsteps to WWCC. Jordan s brother Josh started for the Warriors for two years and was a vital part of the first group to lead the Warrior men to a final four appearance. Jordan helped lead W. Valley to a conference championship and was an all conference selection for the Rams multiple times. A quick player that can play as a full back or in the midfield, Hacker has a motor that never stops. Jordan also competed in Basketball at W. Valley. Another 2A all state selection being added to the Warriors, Rafael was an all conference performer and helped guide highly touted Wahluke to two state titles while in high school. A big, physical player with good aerial ability, Rafael will be looked upon to give quality minutes right away for the Warriors In His one v. one defending is very good and his quality In possession will add depth to any back three or four. 23 Miguel Nogales F 5 10 FR-TR Highland HS Cowiche, WA 27 William Hernandez CB 5 7 FR Mcloughlin HS Milton-Freewater, OR Miguel was a vital part of the 2005 Highland HS team to win its first state championship. A high school teammate of Leo Diaz, Nogales has good vision and technical ability and will bring some flair to the Warrior midfield in An all conference performer in 2004 and 2005 Miguel led the Scotties in assists and often linked with Diaz who led the league in goals. Nogales will compete right away for a spot in the midfield and will add depth to a talented group. Hernandez was an all conference back for Mac High HS in Milton Freewater and a part of the 2005 squad that were Oregon State Champions. His work ethic and tackling ability will allow him to compete and try to earn a way on to the squad. A good student who was a part of the 2006 squad before having to leave shortly in to the season, Hernandez is back to prove himself and compete for minutes. 17

18 2007 SEASON PREVIEW MEN Walla Walla Community College Men s Soccer enter the 2007 season eager to return to the NWAACC Final Four and win the program s first Northwest title. The Warriors return 10 sophomores in 2007 and hopes are high that the returning players, along with a strong incoming group of freshmen, can return Walla Walla to the Final Four. The Warrior s freshman class includes 6 Washington state all- state selections and three Idaho state all state selections along with all conference and ODP players. GOALKEEPERS Jason Schadler returns for his sophomore season after posting impressive numbers his first year in Walla Walla. Schadler posted a 11W-1L-1T record while conceding only eight goals and earning three shutouts. He s joined by incoming freshmen Jeremiah Robinson (Lewiston HS). Schadler was an All-State selection in Washington his senior year after backstopping the Bulldogs to a District title and the 4A State Final and led the Warriors to the best record in program history in Coach s Comments: I m excited at the quality of our goalkeeping for this upcoming season. In Schadler, we return an experienced starter who has proven himself to be capable of performing at a high level in a big game. Both Jason and Jeremiah have big game experience and their contrasting styles Schadler being a big, positional goalkeeper while Robinson is a more agile shot stopper provide us with good options in goal. Add to that a new goalkeeper coach in Kyle Vierck, and I feel very confident we ll continue to have excellent goalkeeping. DEFENDERS NWAACC All-Conference selection Franky Licon is the only returning starter from last year s team that allowed only 18 goals in 26 matches. Licon can play in the middle or on the edges of the back three and will be counted on to provide some experience. In addition the Warriors will add All- State selections Rafael Sanchez (Wahluke HS), and Sherlock Holmes (E. Valley HS) both who led their teams to state titles In Washington. The outside of the back line could see Jordan Hacker (W. Valley HS), Jake Underwood (Timberline HS), and returning sophomore Jimmy Merkley ( Pocatello) all battling for time as well. MIDFIELD Walla Walla sees the return of 2005 star midfielder Bryan Neal back from his mission in Neal led the Warriors to their first final four appearance in school history before leaving for his mission. Also returning for the Warriors is Brian Griffiths who saw action in 19 games in the middle of the park and scored two goals and played some very important minutes. FORWARDS The Warriors return two of their top three goal scorers from 2006 in Leo Diaz and Julio Morales. Diaz tallied 19 goals playing up top while Morales played in the midfield and up top and still managed to score 10 goals for the Warriors. The Warriors will also add two all state selections from 4A state champion Pasco High School in Rocky Snyder and Bryce Wilson, and one all state selection from 2a Prosser in Louis Mendoza. All three could fill roles in the Midfield and up top for the Warriors. Brock Ogami will also fill a role either up top or in the midfield and will fight his way in to a packed line up. The Warriors also return Milton Freewater star Victor Corona who found the net several times in 2006 and Alex Young who is scary with the ball in open space. Coach s Comments: With Julio, Victor, Alex, and Leo all returning, we have some established players that should be compatible with our midfield and our style of play. Leo had a dominant year as a freshman and was consistently dangerous no matter where we played him. In Julio, we have a player who impacted several important games with his offensive punch and technical ability. The addition of Bryce, Rocky, Brock, and Louis and having guys like Victor and Alex back will definitely provide us with a lot of options and a ton of firepower. Coach s Comments: This will be an interesting situation in the back depending on how we figure things out shape wise. If we play with a three back- there is going to be some fierce competition in terms of who is on the field. We have a very good mix of speed and athleticism, and big physical players who are good in the air. I am very confident this will be a very good backline. 18

20 TRANSFER ATHLETES CLASS OF 2006 Beyerlein signs with UW-Green Bay Warrior Sophomore Lydia Beyerlein has signed a letter of intent to continue her soccer career at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. UW- Green Bay is a Division I program that is headed by Quinn Ross, and Green Bay is the former home of Warrior Coach Chad Bodnar who was a standout on the soccer team there. While coach Bodnar was a member of the Phoenix, he was coached by Coach Ross. Beyerlein is part of an impressive recruiting class for the Phoenix. You never really know the impact of a recruiting class until two or three years into the process, but this is definitely one of the deepest we have signed, said Ross. UW-Green Bay finished the 2006 campaign with an record. Beyerlein was a 2-time All-Conference selection as a defender while a member of the Warriors. She was credited with 6 goals her freshmen year and 2 assists as a sophomore. A 3-time All-Conference selection at Moscow High School in Idaho, Lydia was a Defensive MVP of the league her senior year and an Idaho ODP selection Coach Bodnar s Comments: I am extremely proud to send an athlete Like Lydia to UWGB. I had a great experience as a Phoenix athlete and love coach Ross. He will enjoy having Lydia, and although I am sad to see her leave WWCC, I am excited for her future. Koelzer becomes 4th Warrior in 2 years for EWU Warrior Sophomore Forward Lauryn Koelzer has chosen Eastern Washington University and signed a letter of intent to play for the Eagles. She will join 3 Warriors from the Class of 2005 on the Eagle roster; Forward Shelly Ikerd, Goalkeeper Ashley Renz, and Defender Carrie Conners. Koelzer had an amazing 2 years at WWCC as she was a 2-time All-Conference selection and was named NWAACC MVP in 2005 when she notched 31 goals and 21 assists, a Warrior freshmen record. Koelzer added 21 goals and 9 assists for the Warriors in 2006 as they reached the NWAACC Championship Game for the 2 nd straight year. Coach George Hageage comments on Lauryn: Lauryn has a tremendous work rate and will be able to plug in up top or as an attacking center midfielder. She was a late addition to our recruiting class; however, I am reminded about the saying, saving the best for last. Lauren could be a huge impact on our ability to score goals and gives us the best depth up top we have ever had. Koelzer was a 2-time 2A Washington State player of the year in high school and helped lead Connell to 2 state championships. Coach Bodnar s Comments: Lauryn is one of my favorite athletes I have ever coached and I am excited for her to have the opportunity to get to play D-1 soccer. Coming from such a small high school, I feel good about the fact she came here and has a chance to enter the big stage and see what she can do. If she approaches things right, she will be on the field a lot this fall. Crim signs with Chico State Sophomore Midfielder Zach Crim has signed a letter of intent to play at Chico State University, a Division II program in Chico, CA. Crim will join former Warrior Ian Hilgart with the Wildcats who are coached by Mike O Malley. We are very excited about acquiring Zac, O Malley said. He s very strong in the air all over the field. His athleticism and fitness allow him to compete at a high level. Crim was a 2006 All-Conference selection for the Warriors when he scored 5 goals and tallied 21 assists. He scored 15 goals to go with 7 assists in a strong freshmen season. Crim has several records for WWCC. He holds season and career records for assists with 28 and 21 respectively. He also holds the record for total career starts and consecutive starts with 51. Coach Bodnar s comments: Zac is a good player with a ton of ability. It is good to see him go to such a quality program. He will enjoy his time in Chico, and I fully expect him to be a valuable asset to their program. Pulse to join S. Florida College Daniel Pulse will play at South Florida College next year. Pulse played in 21 games as a freshman in 2004 and scored 1 goal from his midfield position. He missed the entire year in 2005 due to an injury. In 2006, Pulse played in 23 games and started 19 as he recorded 1 goal and 2 assists. Pulse was a All-Conference selection and a senior captain for 4A Eisenhower HS in Yakima, WA. Sinclair to play at D-I Maine University Warrior Sophomore Corey Sinclair has signed a national letter of intent to further his soccer career at NCAA Division I University of Maine. The Black Bears are coached by Pat Laughlin. Corey is an outstanding athlete who brings experience and collegiate success with him to Maine, said Laughlin. I expect him to come in and make a contribution immediately. Sinclair started in all 25 games for the Warriors from his centerback position. Sinclair was a transfer from Northwest University where he started 13 games and played in 14 for the Eagles as a freshman. A product of Richland HS, he was a 2-time All-Conference selection, named to the Tri-City Herald s All-Area team, and a Co-MVP his senior season. Coach Bodnar s comments: I am glad Corey gets the opportunity after being unhappy with his first four year college choice. It makes me feel good to give a kid another chance, and a chance at the highest level of collegiate soccer in the US. I hope Corey goes in and works hard and does well for himself. 20

21 TRANSFER ATHLETES CLASS OF 2005 Milligan Signs with Thunderbirds Warrior sophomore Courtney Milligan has signed a letter of intent to play for NCAA Division I Southern Utah University and head coach Brian Stock. Stock guided the Thunderbirds to a 7W-4L-6T mark in 2005 and a semifinal appearance in the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament. Milligan is the fifth Warrior to sign for a Division I program this Spring. Brittney Dugger has signed at Boise State, while Ashley Renz, Shelly Ikerd, and Carrie Conners have all committed to play at Eastern Washington University next Fall. In addition, Alysse Ginkel has committed to Whitman College (NCAA D3) for next Fall. Milligan was a two time NWAACC All-Conference selection in the midfield and was a part of two Northeast Conference winning teams in her two years in Walla Walla. The Warriors were 39W-3L-4T in her two seasons. She is also an NWAACC Academic All-Conference selection, a President s List Student, and named to the National Honor Roll. Milligan was also a Foundation Scholar recipient at Walla Walla CC. Milligan scored four goals and added 21 assists in 46 starts in her two year career in Walla Walla. As a youth player, Milligan won an Idaho State Championship as a member of Boise Capitals SC and represented Idaho ODP for five years. She played her high school soccer for Skyview in Idaho Falls and is a product of FC Extreme. She was the Post Falls Register Player of the Year in Comments from Brian Stock, SUU Head Coach: We are excited to add a player like Courtney to our squad. She is solid on the ball and distributes well. She also has a great work ethic and will win the challenges in the middle third. We are pleased to add a player with two years of college soccer experience under her belt. EAGLES INK WARRIOR TRIO Eastern Washington University have announced the signing of three members of Walla Walla Community College s women s soccer team: Goalkeeper Ashley Renz, Defender Carrie Conners, and Forward Shelly Ikerd. Eastern Washington play in the Big Sky Conference at an NCAA Division I standard and are coached by George Hageage. The trio are part of a sophomore class that won two Conference Championships with the Warriors while winning 39 games in their two seasons in Walla Walla. Renz, a Pasco HS product, is a two time NWAACC All-Conference selection as a goalkeeper and garnered recognition as an NWAACC Academic All-Conference nominee and President s List Student. She is also a National Honor Roll nominee. Renz rewrote the Warrior record book in her two seasons with the Warriors as she holds program marks for wins in a season (22), career (32), shutouts in a season (16), career (24), minutes played in a season (2030) and career (3200), and Goals Against per Game for a season (0.49). Renz played her club soccer for Three Rivers Utd. Conners came to Walla Walla out of Great Falls HS in Montana. A two year starter and All-Conference selection as a defender, Carrie was a sophomore captain for the Warriors while starting 47 straight games. She compiled 13 goals and 16 assists in her two years as a Warrior. Conners was also recognized as an NWAACC Academic All-Conference selection as well as being a President s List student and nominated to the National Honor Roll. A two sport athlete for the Warriors, Conners was also named an All- Conference and Academic All-Conference performer for her performance on the diamond and was recently named an Academic All-American by the National Fastpitch Association. Ikerd is a two time NWAACC All-Conference selection and was the NWAACC Player of the Year in 2004 as a freshman. She led the NWAACC in goal scoring both of her seasons in Walla Walla and holds program marks for goals in a season (45 as a freshman) and career (75) as well as points in a season (89) and career (165). She was also named the All-Conference game MVP in Ikerd is a product of Boise HS and Boise Capitals SC and represented Idaho ODP for five years prior to coming to Walla Walla. In the classroom, Ikerd is a Biology major who was named to the President s List and National Honor Roll as a freshman. Comments from WWCC Head Coach Coach Bodnar We are very excited about sending these three kids to such a quality D-1 program. All three of these players have accomplished things that may never be matched in terms of records on the field. They are equally impressive in the classroom and George is getting three very solid people. Our wish is for them to go in and represent the college well by competing and doing well on the field and in the classroom at Eastern. Replacing all three of these kids will be very difficult as they all bring there own special dynamics to the program. We are glad to be sending them on. Comments from EWU Head Coach George Hageage Chad, and John before him, have done a great job with their players. They are one of the few coaching staffs at the CC level which consistently develop their players so that they are better after two years at Walla Walla than when they first started. I can t underscore enough how rare that is at their level. Ashley - Perhaps one of the most important additions to our squad, Ashley will be able to come in and use your athleticism and experience to push for a starting spot. Ashley reminds us of Tiera Como in her presence and ability. We are extremely lucky to have Ashley join us for next year and are quite excited to see her in Eagle red! Carrie - Carrie versatility, athleticism and ability to read the game will give us the ability to try some different systems of play next year. I see Carrie as an integral part of next years squad either as a defender or up top. I am excited to have the opportunity to coach Carrie next fall! Shelly - Shelly is a tremendous goal scorer!! She has proven herself at every level. Her quickness and ability to strike shots with either her right or left foot will finally give us a player who is a threat to score at anytime! DUGGER SIGNS WITH BRONCOS Boise State Head Coach Steve Lucas announced the signing of Warrior midfielder Britteny Dugger to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Broncos. Boise State play in the Western Athletic Conference and finished their 2005 campaign with a record. Dugger is the third Warrior to suit up for the Broncos following Christy Messenger and Julie Allen. As a Warrior, Dugger compiled impressive numbers in her sophomore season. She captained a team that went 23W-1L-2T and won their third consecutive conference crown while starting in all 26 matches. She was named an NWAACC All-Conference selection and notched 16 goals to go with 11 assists. In the classroom, she was 21

22 TRANSFER ATHLETES recognized as an Academic All-Conference selection and was named to the Dean s List at Walla Walla CC. Dugger was a transfer from the College of St. Rose, an NCAA D2 institution in New York. Dugger was the Washington State 4A and Big Nine Player of the Year in her junior and senior seasons as Richland High School captured a state title. She played her club soccer for Three Rivers Utd and represented Washington ODP. Comments from WWCC Head Coach Coach Bodnar Our program was very excited to bring in Brit with the hopes of placing her somewhere she would be happy after being in New York her freshman year. She came in and was a vital part of a very special team last year. We are very excited about Brit heading to BSU. She is going to have to work hard in the off season to compete for a role, but definitely has the potential to add a special dimension to Steve s squad. BSU is a program on the rise and we are very happy to be able to add a great person to their roster. Comments from BSU Head Coach Steve Lucas We are very excited to have Brittney join our program. She will fit in to our style of play on the field. We expect her to come in and make an immediate impact on our team. GINKEL HEADS TO MISSIONARIES Alysse Ginkel has committed to play for Whitman College and Head Coach Scott Shields for next season. Ginkel, who scored 15 goals and added 11 assists in her two years in Walla Walla, will move across town to join a Missionary team that went 10W- 6L-3T last season and were ranked Regionally most of the Fall. Ginkel was a part of two Conference champion teams in Walla Walla and won an Idaho State 5A Championship with Boise High School her senior season. A product of Boise Capitals Soccer Club, Ginkel was also a three time Idaho ODP State selection as a youth player. ASANO BOUND FOR CANADA Ryosuke Asano, who spent three years in the Warrior program, has transferred to play for St. Mary s University in Nova Scotia. Asano, who red-shirted his freshman season, joins a Husky program coached by Stuart Galloway that has been to the Canadian Championships the past three seasons and been consistently ranked in the top six nationally in Canada. Comments from Warrior Head Coach John Charman: Ryo will have to adjust to the physical nature of play in Eastern Canada but he s developed tremendously here the past three years and has really learned to use his technical tools within the context of a collegiate speed of play. He ll get to play his home contests on an artificial surface and that will be a great advantage to him. GENTLE JOINS YOTES Jared Gentle has signed to play for Head Coach Brian Smith and Albertson College next Fall after compiling a 13W-2L-2T record as a sophomore with the Warriors. Gentle, who was an All-Conference selection, secured nine shutouts as a sophomore in leading the Warriors to their second straight Conefrence title and to the NWAACC Championship game. Gentle holds Warrior records for wins in a season (13) and career (22), shutouts in a season (9) and career (13.5), goals against per game in a season (0.76) and minutes played in a season (1530). Gentle will compete with former Warrior Robbie Erichson for time in the Yote goal. Comments from Warrior Head Coach John Charman: It s a great opportunity for Jared. He s developed into a very good college goalkeeper in the last two seasons and I m confident he and Robbie will battle day in and day out for the starting role at Albertson. They train very well together and have a good relationship so I would think it s a very good situation for the both of them. HILGART HEADING TO CALIFORNIA Ian Hilgart will be joining Chico State next Fall. The Wildcats are coached by Mike O Malley and have been a consistent power on the west coast at the NCAA Division II level for many years. Hilgart tallied five goals and added 10 assists his sophomore season in Walla Walla despite missing most of the first half of the year due to injury. A skillful attacking player, Hilgart will compete for minutes in the Wildcat midfield. Comments from Warrior Head Coach John Charman: Ian s sophomore season was disrupted by injury but when he regained fitness halfway through the year, he really demonstrated the tremendous potential he possesses. He s a quick, technical player with good attacking instincts and a competitive nature that I feel will do very well at Chico State. He can play in many different places and that should eb an asset for him as he tries to work his way into the Wildcat lineup. MUNOZ AND KEMPE JOIN TRUMAN STATE IN MISSOURI Aldo Munoz and Gavin Kempe will be heading to the Midwest to join Truman State in Missouri. The Bulldogs, coached by Duke Cochran, reached the second round of the NCAA Division II tournament last Fall and are perennially Nationally ranked in the top 20 in the country. Munoz, who was an All-Conference selection as a sophomore, tallied seven goals while adding a pair of assists this past Fall while holding the midfield and captaining the team. Kempe shares a career record with Munoz for most starts in two years with 49 and has been a fixture in the Warrior back three both seasons in Walla Walla. Comments from Warrior Head Coach John Charman: It s an exciting and interesting opportunity for both Aldo and Gavin. Truman State has done very well on the field and is a good academic environment for both of them to complete their college careers. Aldo s been a great leader here in his two years and brings a calming presence to the field. I m sure that will translate well for Truman State next Fall. Gavin s never really stepped out of the starting lineup since he arrived here and is one of the most consistent defenders I ve worked with. He s strong in the tackle and very good in the air and I feel has all the tools required to be a good player in the Midwest. 22
