.. 2 As I sit here writing this address I ve been thinking about the past, the present, and the future.

All the fishing and golf tournaments I ve either participated in or assisted with, the great FL/GA weekends, away trips, Family Day, and the recent additions of the poker and dart tournaments.

Remembering the coaches I ve observed on the sidelines over the past 40 years; the great accomplishments they have made; and the celebrated players we ve watched, cheered and even cried for (happy

First the past when I joined the club over 20 years ago and making a bunch of new friends; some that are still here and others who have either moved away or gone on to a better place. All the fishing and golf tournaments I ve either participated in or assisted with, the great FL/GA weekends, away trips, Family Day, and the recent additions of the poker and dart tournaments. I want to thank all of you who have been a part of making all these events a success by offering your talents, time, or donations. Keep up the GREAT work! Remembering the coaches I ve observed on the sidelines over the past 40 years; the great accomplishments they have made; and the celebrated players we ve watched, cheered and even cried for (happy and sad tears) over the ages because of our admiration of our great Gator football teams. We have all witnessed remarkable games at the Swamp as well as some disappointing ones but enough about that. Meyer closed out a highly successful six-year run that included a pair of national championships by leading the Gators back from a second-half deficit to beat JoePa's Nittany Lions in the Outback Bowl on Saturday. Omarius Hines and Mike Gillislee ran for touchdowns, Chas Henry kicked three second-half field goals, and Ahmad Black sealed the win with an 80-yard interception return TD to help Florida (8-5) send Meyer out with a smile. The 46-year-old coach resigned last month because of health concerns and to spend more time with his family. Meyer and the 84-year-old Paterno met at midfield for a postgame handshake that was anything but typical. "He said, 'I love you kid,'" Meyer said. "He's the only one who calls me kid. And I love him too." He sent shockwaves through college football again on Dec. 8 when stepped down again. he could be heading for a broadcasting job. The Gators moved quickly to hire former Texas head coach-in-waiting Will Muschamp as Meyer's replacement. He'll inherit a talented team that on Saturday continued to make the type of mistakes that contributed to their worst record in six seasons under Meyer, who won Southeastern Conference championships and national titles in 2006 and 2008.

The plan this year is to have 4 packages: One bus to LSU; 2 busses to Auburn; 3 busses for the day trip for the Jacksonville tailgate for UGA and 2 busses to USC. Does anyone remember 1979? A GREAT win in Tampa to send one of our greatest coaches out on a positive note. I want to send Urban Meyer a THANK YOU for what he s done for our football program in such a short time and wish him luck in whatever his next endeavor will be. Looking forward to the future and welcoming aboard our newest coach, Will Muschamp. Anticipating he will take our team to a new level at the helm, expecting great things from this club in 2011 since we are the BEST club in the Gator Nation. Thanking everyone in advance for rolling up their sleeves; breaking a sweat; securing donations (either personally or by knocking on doors); and assisting at events, trips, or meetings. Because of your dedication to this club we will be able to continue our commitment and support to the University of Florida for many years to come. Finally thanking you for the opportunity to lead this organization as your President for Now let s go have fun and cheer our team to a successful season and show the Gator Nation which club is the BEST in the Gator Nation. I look forward to seeing you all at our first meeting on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at 7:30 pm. Membership and season ticket renewals will begin at 6:30 pm. Hopefully by this time we ll have the entire new coaching staff in place and a lot to talk about for the upcoming season. Once again, THANK YOU and GO GATORS!!! Bruce Ervin 2011 FGTC President John Brantley threw an interception on Florida's first play from scrimmage, Andre Debose mishandled a kickoff leading to the Gators starting their second possessions from their own 6 and Trey Burton - one of three quarterbacks Meyer used - cost his team when he fumbled into the end zone after a short run to the Penn State 1. Matt McGloin turned Brantley's interception into a 5-yard TD pass to Derek Moye for a 7-0 Nittany Lions lead. Cornerback D' Anton Lynn recovered Burton's fumble for a touchback that helped Penn State stay ahead until Florida's Hines scored on a 16-yard end around set up by an interception - the Gators' second off McGloin. Lerentee McCray returned a blocked punt 27 yards for a touchdown that gave Florida a brief 14-7 lead. McGloin's 44-yard completion to Moye positioned Penn State for Michael Zordich's 1-yard TD run, and the Nittany Lions took advantage of a short punt to go up at the half on Collin Wagner's 20-yard field goal. Henry kicked field goals of 30, 47 and 20 yards, the latter giving Florida a lead midway through the fourth quarter. Florida's fourth interception - Black's second of the day - stopped a potential game-winning drive after McGloin marched the Nittany Lions to the Gators 26 with under two minutes to go. Black cut in front of intended receiver Kevin Haplea and headed up the sideline in front of Penn State bench. After the safety reached the end zone, Meyer received a Gatorade bath and Florida faithful among the announced crowd of 60,574 began chanting "Urban Meyer, Urban Meyer." 8 FGTC & U.A.A. CODE & TICKET POLICIES FGTC Code of Conduct - I agree to conduct myself in an orderly and courteous manner at all FIGHTIN GATOR TOUCHDOWN CLUB functions by my signature below. Members are responsible for their guests complying with all club rules. There shall not be any unauthorized recording of meeting activities or guest speakers by ANY MEANS. Any violation or misconduct on my part at any club-sponsored event can result in my immediate and non-refundable dismissal from the club by a 2/3 majority vote of the Board of Directors, and forfeiture of all membership privileges such as tickets, trips and renewal status. U.A.A. CODE OF CONDUCT - Rowdy, threatening, illegal or inconsiderate behavior such as standing in the aisles, portals, or concourses, profane language, smoking in prohibited areas, fighting, and drunkenness will not be tolerated and can result in ejection, arrest, and / or loss of season ticket privileges. Throwing of any objects in the stands, including paper and plastic cups, and standing on seats / bleachers are strictly prohibited. CLUB TICKET POLICY - I agree upon purchasing season, away game or post - season tickets, that my guest and I (will abide by the FGTC Code of Conduct and the UAA Code of Conduct listed above). I also agree any tickets not being used by my guest or myself (will be made available to be sold to another club member). If I cannot arrange this myself, I understand the ticket chair or board will assist me in selling these tickets as long as I have given said tickets to the ticket chair or board in a timely manner. If I am caught reselling tickets to a non - member, or failing to abide by the Codes of Conducts or ticket policies, I understand any future ability to purchase tickets through FGTC may be revoked.
