Makenzie Koch had an outstanding weekend as she scored her first two career goals and assisted on Sunday s gamewinner, earning Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors. Vittoria Arnold sat out riday, but returned to the net on Sunday. She made four saves en route to recording her third shutout of the season. Alicen Wright made her season debut on riday and made five saves in a tough-luck 2-1 loss to the Mustangs. Brittany Slyman and Koch briefly tied Monica Alvarado for the team lead in goals, but it was short lived as Alvarado notched her third in the second half against Texas State. Katie Ostrander, Serena Smith-Banas and Caroline Patel made their collegiate debuts on Sunday. The Horned rogs wrap up a four-match homestand on riday before embarking on a two-match road swing on Sunday. HOUSTON BAPTIST NOTABLES The Huskies went last weekend, defeating Northwestern (La.) 3-1 and tying Lamar 1-1. Houston Baptist has played five matches away from home and boasts a record. Natalie Hager, the team s leading goal scorer with five, potted a pair of goals in the win over NWLA. Lindsay Matlock knotted the game at one in the 74th minute on Sunday, picking up her first goal of the season. Shelby Horn tallied 13 saves and allowed just two goals in the two matches this past weekend. NORTH TEXAS NOTABLES The Mean Green opened the season 5-0-0, but went against Baylor and No. 16 Long Beach State this past weekend. North Texas and Baylor played to a scoreless tie. Mean Green goalkeeper Jackie Kerestine made five of her 14 saves on the weekend against the Bears. The Mean Green dropped a tough 3-2 overtime decision to the 49ers. Kelsey Hodges scored her team-leading fifth goal in the loss. North Texas has played in four overtime matches this season and boasts a record in those contests. BIG 12 - THE INAUGURAL SEASON

She converted on two penalty kicks and dished out an assist for five points in the two games. Her first career goal came on riday when she knotted the rogs contest against SMU at one. She notched her team-leading fourth assist on Sunday, feeding the ball to Brittany Slyman for what proved to be the game winner. She added an insurance goal later in the half, converting on another penalty kick. In addition to her scoring touch, Koch is the go-to person to take corner kicks. She has taken 26 of 31 (84%) corners this season. On the season, Koch has four assists, which is tied for the most in the Big 12. Her average of 0.57 assists per game tops the league. HALTIME EALOCK The Horned rogs have yet to yield a first half goal in seven matches this season. Additionally, the rogs have only scored in the first half in one match, picking up a pair against Texas State. TCU is the only school in the Big 12 to not allow a goal in the first half. Baylor has allowed just one first half goal this season. STINGY EENSE TCU has allowed just six goals in seven matches this season. The six goals allowed ranks third in the Big 12. Only Baylor and Texas Tech have allowed fewer goals, surrendering three and five, respectively in its first eight contests TCU WOMEN S SOCCER NOTES THE YOUTH MOVEMENT Exactly half of TCU s 22-man roster is made up of freshman this season. Additionally, the rogs added a transfer to make the roster over half full of new faces. They have played a big part in rogs start to the 2012 campaign. Eleven of the 12 newcomers have seen action in a game, while eight have started at least one game for TCU. A WHITEWASH Vittoria Arnold notched her third shutout of the season on Sunday. She leads the Big 12 with a.840 save percentage. She has stoped 21 of 25 shots that have come her way this season. Additionally, her 0.67 goals against average ranks second in the league. SERIES HISTORY - HOUSTON BAPTIST TCU and Houston Baptist have met four times on the pitch. The first meeting came in The series resumed in 2009 and the teams have played every year since then. The rogs are a perfect against the Huskies. Three of the four meetings have come in ort Worth, the lone exception coming last year when they played at HBU. The rogs took a 3-0 victory over the Huskies on Sept. 25, In the last meeting in ort Worth, TCU won 5-2 on Oct. 3, SERIES HISTORY - NORTH TEXAS TCU and North Texas are meeting on the pitch for the first time since the 1996 season. The rogs lead the all-time series 4-1-0, including a mark in enton. After dropping the first match in the series played in 1986, the rogs have won four straight. TCU and North Texas last met on Sept. 25, 1996 when the rogs escaped with a 3-2 victory in a match played in enton.

Bell spent the last six seasons with the Seminoles. After arriving as an assistant coach in 2006, he was promoted to associate head coach in Bell was lorida State s recruiting coordinator his entire tenure in Tallahassee. As recruiting coordinator, Bell made school history as the 2007 class earned its highest national ranking. The Seminoles were recognized by Soccer Buzz with the nation s second-best recruiting class, while grabbing the top spot in the Southeast Region. At the time, both rankings were the highest garnered in program history. Of the 11 freshmen, five ranked in the top 150 by Soccer Buzz while Erin McNulty and Sanna Talonen ranked among the nation s top international recruits. In 2008, Bell once again made school history as Soccer Buzz awarded lorida State with the top recruiting class in the nation. The publication ranked six freshmen in the top 40 with five receiving PARAE All-America honors. Tiffany McCarty was recognized for her outstanding season, becoming the first Seminole in school history to earn ACC reshman of the Year honors. The accolades continued to pour in as Tori Huster and Casey Short joined McCarty as reshman All-Americans. The 2009 class was ranked as the fourth-best recruiting class in the Atlantic Coast Conference by ToprawerSoccer.com. Since his arrival in Tallahassee, Bell helped guide the Seminoles to three College Cup appearances in 2006, 2007 and 2011, including a berth in the school s first national championship game in In his time at SU, the Seminoles compiled an overall record of , highlight by the 2011 ACC tournament title. Bell has coached the 2007 MAC Hermann Trophy winner, a pair of national reshmen of the Year, 18 All-Americans, the 2008 ACC reshman of the Year, 2007 and 2009 ACC Offensive Players of the Year and a handful of student-athletes who have competed internationally. In overseeing the defensive scheme, Bell led the Seminoles to a sub-1.00 goals against average in five of his six seasons en route to a 0.83 GAA during that span. The Seminole backline has averaged over 12 shutouts a season under Bell, reaching double digits all six years while posting a school-record 14 shutouts in both 2006 and In 2008, SU set the school record for the fewest goals allowed (15) and the lowest goals against average (0.63). In 2010, the Seminoles gave up a league-low five goals during conference play, while leading the ACC in shutouts with 13. Prior to his arrival in Tallahassee, Bell spent four years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Illinois. In 2005, he was named NSCAA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year while working at one of the top soccer programs in the Big Ten. Bell also served as head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2000 in addition to being an assistant at the University of Illinois and Ashland University in Ohio. Bell is a United States Soccer ederation A Licensed coach and a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He attended the College of Wooster where he earned a B.A. in As a player, he led his team to two NCAA ivision III tournament appearances in 1989 and 1990 and to a North Coast Athletic Conference title in He was voted the team s best offensive player following the 1991 season.
