1 Torrance/South Bay Knights Benefiting Pediatric Therapy Network (PTN) June 5, 6, 7, 2009 The San Pedro Knights, Torrance South Bay Knights, Gardena Evening Optimist Basketball (GEO), W.J. Chambers Farmers Insurance Agency Torrance, and Torrance Marriott Hotels and Resorts proudly host the first annual Hoops N Smiles Charity. All the proceeds from this tournament will go directly to the Torrance Pediatric Therapy Network (PTN). The Pediatric Therapy Network is a world renown non-profit children s research, education, and therapy center in Torrance. Its mission is to help children with special needs by laying a solid foundation for future growth and development by fostering independence through innovative therapeutic programs. Team Divisions: Boys: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, JV, Varsity Girls: 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, JV, Varsity Each team will receive special raffle tickets for a chance to win a Laker autographed basketball. Each team will receive one free room Friday night, June 5, 2009, for a team, coach, or designee, compliments of Marriott Hotels & Resorts Torrance. Los Angeles Lakers autographed basketballs will be raffled at "Friday Fun Night" and during the tournament Saturday. Winner must be present at Friday Fun Night to be presented with one of the first seven Laker autographed basketballs, or another winning ticket will be drawn. The other Laker autographed basketballs will be given away during the tournament. Sponsor donated prizes will be raffled or given away during the tournament. You are invited to become a sponsor to join the many generous sponsors who are supporting this worthwhile event to benefit the Pediatric Therapy Network. All levels of sponsorship are welcomed. Stop clock will be in effect during the entire game. Running clock will take effect in the 2 nd half when one team s lead exceeds 20 points Pre-game warm-up is 3 minutes, halftime is 2 minutes, and each overtime is 2 minutes. CIF / High School Rules will be followed in all games. Game time is forfeit time. There is NO grace period. Teams may start and finish the game with 4 players. Time-outs: 3 - per game. 1 - for each overtime. Games: Grades 3 rd, 4 th, 5 th 14 Minutes Halves. Grades 6 th through Varsity - 16 Minutes Halves. The first 7 Los Angeles Lakers signed basketball for players and coaches will be raffled from the team tickets provided in the registration packets. The winners need to be present to receive the ball if your ticket is drawn.
