2 About Mission Statement has existed since 2007, with a focus on providing youth with disabilities the opportunity to gain confidence and realize their potential in education and sports by attending wheelchair basketball camps. The best camps in the country are hosted and organized by university wheelchair basketball teams. Some of these include The University of Illinois, Edinboro University and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. The Head Coaches of each of these university teams, along with their roster of athletes, serve as staff, counselors, and instructors for youth with disabilities over the course of the camp. (Usually ranging from 3 to 5 days) Youth campers gain the experience of staying on a college campus, meeting incredible role models, and learning to set life goals on and off the court. Camp fees typically range from $350-$500. raises and targets funds toward paying for the camp fees of participants whose families could not otherwise afford the experience. The Foundation places it's highest priority on first-time campers. Gaining a Vision "After my accident, I received great advice from lots of people who cared about me. But it wasn't until I met an amazing role models using wheelchairs and saw a clear path to where I wanted my life to go, that things really started to change. The advice I had previously been given went from a black-and-white understanding to a full color vision of what was possible. And nothing could hold me back." 3 2014: Review Fundraising Our 2013 goal was $10,000 We achieved $13, in donations Camp holds an annual wheelchair basketball clinic/fundraiser in the greater Cleveland Ohio area. This clinic is targeted at teaching and inspiring young athletes with disabilities in the Cleveland area toward achievement in sport and academics. The clinic consists of individual wheelchair basketball skill instruction, a full court scrimmage, and inspirational messages from members of the USA Men's Paralympic Wheelchair basketball team. This clinic provides local exposure for youth with disabilities to experience the sport of wheelchair basketball and to connect them with role models. Scholarships Donated $ (24 Youth with disabilities) to disabled sports camps. 5 Who We Serve Thank you for your donation to help me attend the University of Illinois Wheelchair Basketball Camp this year. I have been going there for three years. I always learn something new to improve my game and to teach my teammates every time I go. This year I learned how to handle the ball in traffic and not just throw it to a team member every single time up the court.
