6 Treasurer s Report Accounts looking healthy at the moment. Balance of accounts: o Operating Account: $57, o Rep Account: $8, o Junior Pathways: $ o Maximiser: $12, o Term Deposit: $67, Motion move to reinvest term deposit upon maturity 6 th May. Moved Chelsea Schaefer Seconded: Jayne Bourke motion passed. Currently the rep account is an S1.1 and operating account is an S3. All deposits automatically come to rep account which needs to be transferred. Want to close operating account and move to S3.3 (Community Pathways) account. This would mean association would get a percentage back based on average balance of the account. Moved: Julie Gates Seconded: Barb Hoskins motion passed. Once players are registered with Netball NSW, ADNA cannot refund the fee component payable to Netball NSW. ADNA will assess and refund remaining component if the player hasn t played or a pro-rata amount if player only plays a couple of weeks with injury etc. Accepted by: Anna Caldwell Seconded by: Barb Hoskins Umpire Convenor s Report No report. Jayne Bourke (Umpire Development Officer) spoke as follows: Jayne Bourke is seeking volunteers to assist with coaching the junior umpires. Justine has sent out an about the Level 1 course that will be held on Saturday 4 th May Run by Jan Simpson. Anyone from 13 years of age upwards that is interested in developing umpiring skills and brushing up on the rules are eligible to attend. The cost is $35 per head and if you are interested, please contact Justine Kavanagh. Jan Simpson will be here on the Saturday as part of tour of Northern Region. She will probably be out viewing teams and umpires so if you want some coaching please let someone in the club house know and we will ask Jan to come and see you. Accepted by: Julie Gates Seconded by: Maxine Thompson Rep Liaison Officer s Report All the rep teams went to their first carnival in Grafton on the 24 th March It was extremely hot and the teams went played well for their first competition of the year. The next carnival will be in Cessnock on the 5 th May The chocolate fundraising has finished and ADNA will be starting a raffle. Local businesses have been approached to donate prizes for the raffle. The proceeds will

7 go to reducing the State Age fees. Accepted by: Chelsea Gates Seconded by: Rochelle Joyce Coaching Co-Ordinator s Report An was sent to Monique Smith at Netball NSW in relation to conducting a Foundation (base level) coaching course. The cost of this course will be $75 and there will be an online component attached to this course. Coaches corner started with drills, basic skills and ankle programs. There are new Netta rules for this season. Netta players are now allowed to defend their opponents. Also, players can now be rotated in halves instead of quarters. These rules will be sent out before next round. Accepted by: Eryn Cavanagh Seconded by: Julie Gates Registrar s Report Registration went well. There were a lot of close games in the first round. We will look at whether we need to do any regrading after rounds 3 or 4. We are still accepting registrations. Players must register before they can take the court. The draw and the umpiring roster will be finalised before the games begin again. This will be put up on the website as soon as possible. Please check website regularly for any changes. The courts will be remarked after the holidays ready for the season to begin. The grounds are in good order and we have spoken to Council about the loose gravel on the hard courts. 8 Canteen Report: Everything went well for first round. Healthy options and new items are now available. Strapping tape and fiximul are available from the canteen. Whistles are also available for either $10 or $18. After the holidays the canteen will also be selling netball hoodies, scarves and rule books. It is recommended that all teams have a first aid kit. ADNA have suggestions for kits so if you would like to see what is available come up to the clubhouse and you can see the brochures. Band-Aids and ice are available from canteen. So, if you need ice, go straight to canteen window, not the clubhouse. Hart sports catalogues are available in the clubhouse if anyone would like to order any items. Accepted by: Eryn Cavanagh Seconded by: Rochelle Joyce Publicity Officer s Report: After Round 1 a rundown was sent to the Armidale Express. We would like to report on more than just Division 1 this year. The Express have been given the team contacts so they may be contacted for additional information for stories. If anyone has any interesting story about a team or school, contact Sam Brady or Billie Murray. Every second week, Sam or Justine will do the radio segment with Steve McMillan. Again if you have interesting items, let Sam know. There are 3 teams with media bans this year, so if you are playing one of these teams you will need to be mindful that you can t take photos. GENERAL BUSINESS Now that we have Telstra internet connected to the clubhouse we will be looking to cancel our Optus contract. It is currently in credit by $44 so the Treasurer will take control of this and use it to do her reports etc. The Association is very grateful to Telstra for getting the new wireless internet up and running. The playground has been loaded up on the Community Mutual website (South Hill Playspace). If we get 200 votes, New England Mutual will donate $10,000. Please go to the website and vote. 9 ADNA would like to Robert Stevens and Justine Kavanagh for paining the clubhouse and Snow McMahon for laying the carpet donated by Bowling Club. Our aim is to tidy up the Clubhouse so that we have more space. We are also going to get a President s Board in honour of 30 th year with names of all past Presidents. This will be hung in the Club House. A ball will be held to commemorate our 30 th year. A tentative date of Saturday 13 th July 2013 has been booked and the function will be held at the Armidale Bowling Club. Volunteers welcome to assist in forming an organising committee. Committee so far consists of: Amy Holman, Julie Gates, Rochelle Joyce, Jo Sozou, Justine Kavanagh and Kathy McMahon. The netball camp was cancelled due to a lack of numbers. We will try to hold it again later in the year. The Committee would like to remind players & supporters that that courts are owned by Council and as such they are a No smoking and No dog zone. The ADC is looking into increasing signage around the courts. OTHER BUSINESS: Nil Meeting closed at 7.40 pm.
