Strong 1 st National R/E Request re fixture book ad CORRESPONDENCE OUT BE RECEIVED: Comets REPORTS: TREASURER: Lights at Bellingara will be on Monday 10 th March. They will be on everyday except Good Friday and Easter Monday. For any enquiries on outside court lights, contact SSNA not Sutherland Council. SSC change lights from Summer to Winter sport over a 2 week period. Vicki to ring council and confirm when that period is. Clubs cannot request keys for light boxes, all lights are on time clocks. All clubs to request training courts on Registration Day. New rule and Umpiring books to be released. Orders can be placed on Registration Day, but as we are not sure of the new prices, we will not require a cheque for this order. Fixture Book orders to be placed on Registration Day. Cost $5.50 each. Separate cheque required for this order. Jannali NSW REPORT: November Meeting Majority of proposed changes to Board structure were turned down by Council. Rules for Championships & Competitions were passed with minimal changes increased fines for umpires failing to attend State leagues & championships. Up to $500. Proposal that State Champs be held over 2 venues from 2010 & State Age Champs be held over 4 venues from age group at each venue. This was voted down by Council & Associations have been asked to submit suggestions to overcome the problems associated with both competitions. SSNA has submitted 3 suggestions.

5 1. 15 s, 17 s & 21 s together. Opens to 35 s. 2. Limit amount of teams. 3. Elimination Carnival. Bi Annual Conference Nine people attended from Sutherland to hear about the new rules, coaching accreditation, member protection, insurance, NMAS etc. Member Protection policies will hopefully be available soon. Reminder to all clubs that all coaches, managers, &club committees should complete the Prohibited Employment Declaration (it is available on our website & should be retained by each club) Insurance claim forms & handbook should be available in the near future. A Risk Management Survey will need to be done by each club. Netball Management & Administration System includes the new database, competition facility & website. Will eventually be available to all clubs. Connells Point Holy Family EXECUTIVE: Suggestion from Eagles re rep players changing clubs moved to general business. Decisions on voting for NSW AGM Reports from Bi Annual Conference Assistant Secretary position no longer required. Office Administrator to take over insurance, risk management and child protection. She has already taken over minute taking duties. MOTION Life Member To be voted on at next Delegates meeting. Three Fijian players to be included in 1 st team. They are due to arrive in 3-4 weeks. Two of the girls will need accommodation, please advise Jo if anyone is able to assist. As they will be entering on a Sports Visa, they are able to work up to 20 hours per week. Please contact Jo if anyone is able to assist with employment. The girls will assist with Coaching Clinics etc. They will return to Fiji when the season is over. Gymea

6 REGISTRARS: Robin Glennan is the new Senior Registrar Jannali Holy Family UMPIRES CONVENOR: Session on rule changes to be held on 26 th March. Open to all. Stadium 7.30pm. Main rule change Stoppages Each team in each quarter or half will have up to two minutes injury time. The primary carer is the only one able to go onto the court to attend to the player. Any further injuries in the quarter, the primary carer shall have 30 seconds to remove the player from the court. Coaches are not permitted to coach on the court or sideline during stoppages. Please come along to session to learn all about new rule changes. Level 1 Umpires Accreditation 15th March, 9.00am to 2.00pm in the Stadium. Umpires Meeting 17 th March, 7.30pm, Top Building. Will discuss new badging. Presentation on Modified Umpiring 12 th March at 7.30pm. Connells Point St Patricks TOURNAMENT: Fixture Requests SINGLE request sheet/s from each club preferably typed & including for EACH request Name/s of person/s involved Team number eg St Caths 12/1; Kirrawee Snr 2 Type of request eg same venue; different timeslots; early game day 1 etc Reason for request eg coach/ player conflict If two people are involved, which request is more important. NB: requests on scraps of paper such as Sharks 12A not same time as 14A will not be considered Requests must be submitted with your club registrations Eagles

7 COACHING CO-ORDINATOR: Five coaches attended coaching workshops at Bi Annual Conference. Some sessions very informative. New Coaching Accreditation was presented Foundation Course to replace Level O. This is a one day course with 2hrs of practical. Cost of $90pp. This is too high for your average Mum or Dad who want to train their daughter s team. Next stage is the Development coaching course at $120pp for 1 day. This would be followed by the Intermediate Course and the Advanced Course, which is the old Level 2. SSNA to run a Beginners Coaching course at a cost of $20pp for a 3 hour course. This course is based on the old Level O. Coaching books available for purchase at $20 each. Two courses to be run on 8 th March 9.00am to and 1.00pm to 4.00pm. Numbers limited. Extra courses will be run if need be. Clubs to advise coaches that appropriate footwear must be worn to these courses. Sunday 27 th April, Development Squad Trials. Coaching Workshops Sunday 18 th May 2.00pm to 4.00pm and Sunday 1 st June 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Stand Tall Program Stepball is a new modified version of netball for the over 50 s age group. Team can be 7 players of mixed gender. No running. Gymea SELECTION & REPS: Jo Goudie would like to acknowledge Steve Watts for his help in trying to dry the stadium floor and finding an alternate venue. Thankyou! Jo would also like to thank Margaret Corbett and Trish Bowmaker for all their help. The S/L teams will know their grades on Friday. We are proud to have some girls in the 4 th team that came from the development squad. 15 s to be included in State League as our 5 th team. The Manager of the 12 s team has resigned. 12 s, 13 s & 14 s final selections early April. Players that have still not trialled will not be permitted to attend camp. State League & 15yrs teams have been selected. Jo advised that S/L teams were not on the website until all players had been informed of their selection placings. This was so all players were told in person before anyone else had access to that information. It was also to safeguard against other associations accessing the information. Margaret Corbett congratulated Jo Goudie on a job well done, and thanked her for all the work involved in bringing the Fijian players out. Margaret also thanked the SSNA in their support of the Fijian players. Taren Point SPONSORSHIP: McDonalds to provide awards again this year. Clubs please advise amount of 8-12 year olds on Registration Day. Video Ezy to run photo competition again. KFC potential sponsor Hungry Jacks to provide meal vouchers again. Holy Family RETURNING OFFICER: Quite a few clubs did not nominate graders from their club. Clubs were reminded that under the constitution, each club must nominate at lease 1 grader.

9 Reminder that grading meeting is on Monday 25 th at 7.30pm in top building. All graders to attend. Connells Point GENERAL BUSINESS: Selection Policy will be sent out shortly to be voted on at next meeting World Youth Day Souvenir World is looking to employ approx 200 staff as sales assistants. Approximately $15 per hour. Clubs to talk with 17 s to see if anyone interested. First Aid Course to be held on Sunday 30/03/08. $65.00pp. to be sent out to clubs. Connells Point to run a Gala Day on 24 th February to finalise grading. No entry fee. All age groups. Advise Julian if you would like to attend. Eagles suggestion on rep players swapping clubs Players must write a letter to the association seeking permission to do so, and outline their reasons. SSNA to contact Cricket Assoc for ideas on how they avoid this issue. Depending on numbers on Registration 4.30pm timeslot may be introduced. Gymea apologised for not attending Swap Night. Closing date for nominations for Development Squad 12 th April. Forms must be signed. MEETING CLOSED: 9.40pm
