By Friday, December 19: Request any additional tickets (beyond provided comps) required by your team/staff via Ryan Boudway at rboudway@nd.edu. (Route 59) exit and go straight. The building will be on your right. From the West: Take I-90 East (the Northwest Tollway) to the New Sutton Rd. (Route 59) exit. 9 Locker Room Incidentals and Laundry Laundry needs will be handled in facilities available in the Home locker room at the Sears Centre Arena. David Gilbert, Equipment Manager, Notre Dame will provide assistance with all laundry needs. The following items will be provided in the locker rooms upon arrival at the Sears Centre: 2, 10-gallon water coolers 6, Gatorade powder mixes sleeves of cups fan shampoo, soap & deodorant towels black, white & clear tape chest cooler for ice bags bags for ice biohazard bags Pucks will be provided for all practices and pre-game warm-ups A skate riveter and a coffee pot will be accessible to all teams Game Day Incidentals The following items will be provided to each team on game day: Locker room: Bagels and fruit will be provided to each team (2 hours prior to games) Gum 24, bottled Gatorades on ice (post-game) Benches: 18, water bottles 1, 10-gallon water cooler 8, towels black, white, & clear tape (2 rolls of each) 1 small cooler for/with bags of ice Biohazard bag Game Officials Tournament officials will be selected and provided by the CCHA. Officials will be assigned to Star Rooms #1 and #3 on the Event / Locker Room Level 9 P age
10 Media Credentials/Will Call By 5pm EST, Friday, December 19: Fax or all media credential requests to media coordinator, Tim Connor (574) or Media members will pick-up tournament credentials at the lower level loading dock entrance of the Sears Centre Arena Press Box/Media Room Members of the working media and each team s radio broadcast will have assigned seating within the tournament press box (Loge s 5,6 and 7) accessible from the Concourse Level of the Sears Centre Arena The media work room which will be used for player and coach postgame interviews is located at the Event (locker room) Level of the Sears Centre Arena. Player/Coach Guest Will Call/Pass Gate The Player/Coach Guest Will Call/Pass Gate will be located at the Main Entrance of the Sears Centre Arena. This area will be staffed by members of the Notre Dame Ticket Office staff, led by Ryan Boudway. By 3:30pm CST, Friday, January 2, submit all player/staff guest ticket/pass lists to Ryan Boudway at player/coach guest will call for Games 1 & 2. By 2:30pm CST, Saturday, January 3, submit all player/staff guest ticket/pass lists to Ryan Boudway at player/coach guest will call for Games 3 & 4. Benches and Ice Access: Tournament Game Protocol Home teams will enter the ice at the southwest corner of the rink (left out of locker room to access door), use the west bench and warm-up at the west (closed) end of the rink. Visiting teams will enter the ice at the southeast corner of the rink (right out of locker room to the zamboni entrance), use the east bench and warm-up at the east (open) end of the rink. 10 P age
11 Tournament Game Protocol cont d Home/Visitor Designation: Video Replay: Game #1: Home Team: Minnesota-Duluth (light jerseys) Visiting Team: UMass-Lowell (dark jerseys) Game #2: Home Team: Notre Dame (light jerseys) Visiting Team: Union (dark jerseys) Game #3: Home Team: UMD/UML (light jerseys) Visiting Team: Union (dark jerseys) Game #4: Home Team: Notre Dame (light jerseys) Visiting Team: UMD/UML (dark jerseys) Goal review via video replay will not be available during the tournament. Tie Games: If any game of the tournament remains tied after the completion of regulation and the 5 minute overtime period, the winner of the game (for tournament purposes only) will be determined by the approved NCAA shootout protocol. Game Times Game #2 and Game #4 In the event that there is overtime (and a shoot-out) in the earlier games, the ice shall be resurfaced immediately following the conclusion of those games. The second game of the day will start a minimum of 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first, but not earlier than 8:05pm for Game #2 and 7:05pm for Game #4 Post-game Saturday: The winning teams of games #1 and #2 on Friday will participate in the tournament championship game on Saturday. The captain(s) of the tournament championship team will be presented with the Shillelagh Tournament trophy on the ice after that game. Participating teams shall remain on the ice on their respective blue lines (following the hand shake) for this presentation. 11 P age
12 Tournament Game Protocol cont d An all-tournament team comprised of 6 players (3 forwards, 2 defensemen and 1 goaltender) including the tournament s Most Outstanding Player will be named at the conclusion of Game #4 (participating teams in Game #4 should remain on the ice on their respective blue lines (following the hand shake) for this announcement. If Game # 4 is the championship game, this announcement will precede the awarding of the tournament championship trophy. Athletics Training Room Facilities The tournament Athletics Training Room (ATR) is located in the Home locker room at the Sears Centre Arena, and is accessible via a separate entrance. The hours of operation will be one hour before all practices and two hours before each game throughout the tournament. The tournament ATR will be open for 30 minutes after each practice and one hour after each game. Additionally, each team will have a treatment table, hydrocollator w/covers, a basic medical kit and an ice chest located in each locker room. Limited modalities will be available for use upon request. Kevin Ricks, Associate Athletics Trainer from Notre Dame will staff the tournament ATR whenever it is open. Medical Information If necessary, injured athletes who require emergency medical care will be taken to: St. Alexian Brothers Hospital 1555 Barrington Rd Hoffman Estates, Il Video/Coaches Booth Team video staff will be able to tie into the in-house, center-ice, wide angle camera feed for their use. The feed will be available in each coach s booth/suite for each game. In addition, a DVD of each game will be provided to each team (and each official) upon completion of each game. 12 P age
13 Video/Coaches Booth cont d Coach s Booths/Suites: The following suites have been reserved for the use as coaches booths for the assistant coach and video staff of each team for the respective games. 4 different suites will be utilized on Friday, only 2 suites will be used on Saturday. Game #1: UMass-Lowell: Suite 41 Minnesota-Duluth: Suite 2 Game #2: Union: Suite 42 Notre Dame: Suite 3 Game #3: Union: Suite 41 UML or UMD Suite 3 Game #4: UML or UMD Suite 41 Notre Dame Suite 3 The Suite Level is accessible via elevator from the Concourse Level of the Sears Centre, accessed via stairs from the Event / Locker Room Level. Post-Game Interviews All coaches and players participating in the tournament shall be available for interviews. The post-game interviews with the media will occur in the media room on the event/locker room level. After a 10 minute cooling off period for each game, the coach and selected members of the losing team will meet with the media first. A Notre Dame sports information staff member will escort the coach and selected players to the media room. The winning coach and selected players will be escorted to the media room at the conclusion of the first interview. Requests for additional interviews with individual coaches and players from each team should be coordinated with Tim Connor and/or each school s SID, if in attendance. 13 P age
