2 IMPORTANT EMERGENCY INFORMATION The Automated External Deliberator (AED) is located at the Trading Post In the event of severe weather you must seek shelter in the STORAGE BUILD- ING at the CAMP ENTRANCE, the McGANN BUILDING near the CAMPFIRE AREA or the MED LODGE near the DINING HALL. Each Troop has it s own MAP and SCHEDULE to guide them along their personalized trail. Everyone will stop at all stations and have the same experiences, just in a different order. Please follow YOUR trail. Be on time! We re glad you re here! Thank you for choosing to spend this beautiful day with your Scouting family. We are here to have some good, SAFE fun. Please follow the Scout Law and remember to be considerate to others. Join me in thanking the adult volunteers who have helped to make this a great day! REGISTRATION Registration will take place at the TRADING POST at the time that your Troop is scheduled to be at the COOKING STATION. See YOUR TROOP SCHEDULE. Please have ONE CHECK payable to Buckskin Council or BSA for the entire balance due. Please no individual registrations Register as a TROOP Registration fee is $10 for Scouts, Explorers, Ventures, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Registration fee is $4 for adult leaders, family members and all others BSA RULES 2-Deep Leadership in effect at ALL TIMES. No pets in Camp - No dogs, cats, zebras, giraffes or other critters are allowed. Lost & Found If you find something around camp or if you lose something, please check with the LOST & FOUND Officer at the TRADING POST. No bicycles, skateboards, scooters, go-carts, dune buggies, Humvees, tanks, jet packs or other such vehicles are allowed (except in the case of medical necessity). NO ONE may ride in the back of pickup trucks or in any area of any vehicle not designed for passenger occupancy. Vehicular traffic is prohibited in the camping area (near the Shelters) and across the bridge. Please be considerate of others. SEE YOUR TROOP SCHEDULE TO FIND OUT WHERE YOU BELONG!

3 ICE FISHING INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGE: The fishing poles (sticks) and fishing line (ropes) are arranged neatly at the starting position and the fish are all placed in position under the bridge. To the Ice Master (the leader running this event): Be consistent. Be sure that the fishing poles, ropes and fish are all positioned in the same place and in the same order for each Scout all day long. Record scores for each Scout on the score sheet provided and return to Klondike Dan at the Trading Post after the final round (no later than 2:30). 1. Start with one fishing pole (stick) and one string (rope), 2. At the GO signal tie one end of the rope to the pole using a CLOVE HITCH (page 387). Tie a loop in the other end of the rope using a BOWLINE (pages ). 3. Holding the fishing pole behind the taped line, lower the loop over the bridge railing to catch the fish placed on the ground under the bridge. Place your fish in the 5-gallon bucket. Keep doing this until time runs out. At the end of 3 minutes only the fish in the bucket will be counted for scoring (no fish on the line will count. The fishing poles (sticks) and fishing line (ropes) are arranged neatly at the starting position and the ice block is placed in position under the bridge. To the Ice Master (the leader running this event): Be consistent. Be sure that the fishing poles, ropes and ice block are all positioned in the same place and in the same order for each Troop all day long. Record scores for each Stroop on the score sheet provided and return to Klondike Dan at the Trading Post after the final round (no later than 2:30). This is a team event. Each team will consist of 2 Scouts. At the GO signal tie one end of the rope to the pole using a CLOVE HITCH (page 387). Tie a loop in the other end of the rope using a BOWLINE (pages ). Holding the fishing pole behind the taped line, each Scout will lower the loop over the bridge railing to catch one side of the ice block placed on the ground under the bridge. Carry the ice block across Wolf Creek (from one side of the creek to the other). After dropping the ice block on shore pull up the rope, untie all knots and return the poles and ropes to their original position. This is a timed event. Time begins at the GO signal and ends when the knots have been untied and the fishing poles and ropes have been returned to their original position. Be sure to have the Ice Master record your time on the official score sheet. 4. When you are done, untie the rope and return everything to it s original position. The red fish and the blue fish are worth 3 points each. The other fish are worth 4 points each. The block fish is worth 5 points.

4 SKI PATROL SKI PATROL INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGE: The skis are arranged neatly at the starting position. To the Ski Master (the leader running this event): Be consistent. Be sure that the skis are all positioned in the same place and in the same order for each Scout all day long. Record scores for each Scout on the score sheet provided and return to Klondike Dan at the Trading Post after the final round (no later than 2:30). 1. Start with skis BEHIND the starting line 2. At the GO signal carefully ski to the end of the course, circle the pylon, and return to the starting line. Time stops when either of your ski tips crosses the start/finish line 3. Penalties: If you fall down, you will be assessed a 20 second time penalty. Each time your foot slips from either ski and touches the ground you will be assessed a 20 second time penalty. There is no limit for time penalties. 4. When you are done, return your skis to their original position. This is a timed event. Time begins at the GO signal and ends when the either of your ski tips crosses the start/finish line. Be sure to have the Ski Master record your time on the official score sheet. TEAM CHALLENGE on the next page The skis are arranged neatly at the starting position. To the Ski Master (the leader running this event): Be consistent. Be sure that the skis are all positioned in the same place and in the same order for each Troop all day long. Record scores for each Troop on the score sheet provided and return to Klondike Dan at the Trading Post after the final round (no later than 2:30). This is a team event. Each team will consist of 4 Scouts 1. Start with skis BEHIND the starting line. Four Scouts will take their positions on the giant skis. Note that the ropes are not all the same length! 2. At the GO signal carefully ski to the end of the course, circle the pylon, and return to the starting line. Time stops when either of your ski tips crosses the start/finish line 3. Penalties: If any member of your team falls down, you will be assessed a 30 second time penalty. Each time any team member s foot slips from either ski and touches the ground you will be assessed a 30 second time penalty. There is no limit for time penalties. 4. When you are done, return your skis to their original position. This is a timed event. Time begins at the GO signal and ends when the either of your ski tips crosses the start/finish line. Be sure to have the Ski Master record your time on the official score sheet.

5 SLED DOG HARNESSING The sled dogs (tires) are arranged neatly at the starting position. To the Sled Dog Master (the leader running this event): Be consistent. Be sure that the dogs are all positioned in the same place and in the same order for each Scout all day long. Record scores for each Troop on the score sheet provided and return to Klondike Dan at the Trading Post after the final round (no later than 2:30). This is a team event. Each team may consist of teams of 3 to 6 Scouts Start with dogs BEHIND the starting line. All Scouts will take their positions behind the starting line. At the GO signal one Scout will herd his dog to one of the posts along the course. The Scout many not touch the dog (tire). He must herd the dog with the dog prods (sticks) provided. In other words, lift the tire to a rolling position, roll it to a post, and push it over onto the post without touching the tire. Return to the start and pass the dog prod sticks to the next team member who repeats the process until all 6 dogs are in position. ALL SCOUTS must participate Once all 6 dogs are in position it is time to bring the dogs home!. Scouts will retrieve their dogs returning them to their base in the same way they hitched the team. Time stops when the final Scout crosses the start/finish line. With his dog. FIRE BUILDING This is a All Scouts in the Troop must participate and follow the guidelines provided by the Fire Master (Dan Cook) This is a TIMED EVENT. Please record scores for each Troop on the score sheet provided and return to Klondike Dan at the Trading Post after the final round (no later than 2:30)..CHAR CLOTH This is NOT a competition. It is instructional: All Scouts in the Troop must participate and follow the guidelines provided by the Char-Master (Bill Hanks) You will learn to make CHAR-CLOTH at this station, a very handy material used in building a fire. Pay careful attention and learn something! COOKING This is NOT a competition. It is instructional: All Scouts in the Troop must participate and follow the guidelines provided by Klondike Dan. We will be making a treat! This is a timed event. Time begins at the GO signal and ends when the final Scout crosses the start/finish line. Be sure to have the Sled Dog Master record your time on the official score sheet.
