1 Farewell to Don Third We are very sorry to inform you that Don passed away on Thursday the 12th of March. Don was in December, when he left, one of the oldest members in the Club. During his long membership, he served as Vice Commodore and he used to be a popular figure in the GP14 fleet and in the Tarpon fleet. He will be missed by all of us here in Lagos. While the LYC flag is set at half mast we had a gathering at LYC after the race to remember Don. Our thoughts go out to his family. Don s funeral is to be held at Seafield Crematorium, Leith, Edinburgh EH6 7LD on Monday 23rd of March at 1.00pm. There will be 4 races on Saturday and 4 races on Sunday (Eko Atlantic). For this event, we are looking for 6 rescue officers for Saturday & Sunday. The Bridge Book, OOD Book and various guidance notes are available in hard copy form for all OOD s in the office. Please can I remind all OOD that you should come with your regular crew (or helper), who will be the Rescue Officer for the day. The Bridge needs to have a nominated Rescue Officer for every race day. SOCIAL EVENTS 100 CLUBS March draw will be Friday 27 th March Nearly 100 names are currently down for the 100 Club so there are a few places free for the moment, so new members who want to join this prestigious event or equally existing participants who want to 'up' their chances can contact the office at. It is one of the older hobies, but still in good sailing condition and on the water most of the weekends. Comes with a bag of spares. Asking price is $2000.
