1 Senir Prject Rm Rules: 1. Access t the Senir Prject Rm (SPR) is available 24/7 (excepting game days) t all students currently enrlled in Mechanical Engineering Senir Design. 1. Any student nt enrlled in senir design wh wishes t use the SPR may d s with TA permissin, apprved certificatin and training, and supervisin. 2. All students using the SPR will be issued a badge, which they must have with them in rder t use the SPR. 2. Students fund breaking any f the SPR rules will receive a verbal warning n their first ffense. A secnd ffense will result in revcatin f the student's access t the SPR and the lss f a letter grade (10 pints) frm the student's final grade fr that semester. 3. The fllwing activities are cnsidered "restricted" and must be supervised by a SPR TA 1. Use f machine tls 2. Use f chemicals and aersls 3. Use f welding equipment (1) 4. Use f pwer tls 4. While any restricted activities are taking place, all students within the wrk-zne f the activity must be wearing prper Persnal Prtective Equipment (PPE) 1. Prper PPE cnsists f, but is nt limited t: safety glasses, lng pants, shrt-sleeved shirt, clsed-te shes, tied-back lng hair, and n lse jewelry 2. SPR TA's have the right t require any additinal PPE accrding t the activities being perfrmed. 5. Wrk Space Plicy: 1. All prjects can be assigned wrk spaces fr in-prcess assembly by request. 1. All teams in pssessin f an assigned wrk space are required t have cmpletely cleaned that wrkspace befre their final presentatin. 2. Any team wh has nt cleaned their assigned wrkspace WILL NOT receive a final grade until they have dne s. 2. Unassigned wrk spaces are free fr use by any prject during SPR Hurs 1. Any tls, parts, r prjects left in unassigned wrkspaces withut their wners present will be cnfiscated by the SPR TA. 2. Cnfiscated items will be returned t grups during SPR hurs, by request. 6. Tl Plicy: 1. A tlbx full f basic tls fr prject assembly will be ffered t all teams at the beginning f their manufacturing semester 1. Any team which accepts a tlbx takes full respnsibility fr maintaining the cntents f the bx 2. All teams in pssessin f a tlbx are required t return the full tlbx, including all riginal cntents, befre their final presentatin 3. Any team wh has nt returned their tlbx in full WILL NOT receive a final grade and will lse access t the SPR until they have dne s 2. Specialty tls and pwer tls are the respnsibility f the SPR TAs, and can be lent ut during SPR hurs by request 3. Any tls bught by a team using team funds becme prperty f the SPR at the end f that team's final semester 1. Tls bught using persnal funds belng t the individual wh bught them (1) Students wh have passed the welding certificatin class can weld with the supervisin f anther certified welder in lieu f a TA
