4 1 INTRODUCTION Welcome to the eighth edition of Element Skate Camp Spain, introduced by Emilio Arnanz. The camp truly is a skateboarding paradise. It is a meeting point for those who look forward to enjoying a few days full of skateboarding and plenty of other activities. The Skate Camp provides a safe environment that encourages participants to make friends and share with them a common interest, skateboarding. Through this document we welcome and invite you to get to know more about what we have planned for this summer Also, please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions or doubts. 4

5 2 WELCOME Thanks for considering Element Skate Camp Spain as your summer destination. Our camps are targeted to kids, at any skateboarding level, who want to enjoy our program. A wholesome program full of activities that ensure there is not a single moment of boredom during the camps. Each day is be full of skateboarding, fun, laughs and a whole new lot of enriching experiences: a variety of activities and workshops related to the environment as well as to the artistic creativity of the campers, cultural visits and hiking among other. In our facilities we have our own mini ramp. We also have an open space where we will skate the Element Drop Spot obstacles and our street course! We carry out daily visits to the best skateparks in the area as well, so that we skate all sorts of areas. To wrap up the day, after dinner we chill at the Relax Area, where campers are able to watch the latest skate videos and the best skate magazines and books. Every night together we will update our Skate Camp Blog, where all your friends and family will be able to find out what is going on at the camps during the whole day. Exhausted, after a day of fun, campers go to rest and sleep in our hostel, which is located in a privileged area. Complete tranquility to get into shape and boost with energy for the following day. Each of our staff members is extremely excited to be able to share this experience with you. We will make everything possible so that every camper remembers Element Skate Camps for life. 6 3 FACILITIES HOSTEL Among nature but only a 15 minute drive from Bilbao we have a whole hostel for our use during the Skate Camp. Here campers rest, enjoy, carry out all our scheduled activities and skate, since we have our own mini ramp at the facilities!!! ALBERGUE DE SANTXOSOLO BARRIO DE SANTXOSOLO GÜEÑES The hostel is located in Güeñes, on the eastern area of the Encartaciones región. It is surrounded by a privileged environment where one can rest, skate, enjoy nature and all the different activities included in the program. 7 DROP SPOT STREETPARK And if this wasn t enough only 2 minutes walk from the hostel we have an area where we will skate the Element Drop Spot Obstacles and streetpark, where the campers will be able to enjoy a variety of fix street modules during the whole week. ELEMENTSKATEBOARDS.COM/DROPSPOT 7

8 SKATEPARKS We will carry out daily visits to the best skateparks around the Basque Country, Cantabria and Logroño. Del Mar Skate House - Logroño 8

9 4 GROUPS Groups consit of 20 to 24 participants always accompanied by the team of instructors. Monitor s ratio is 5 participantes per monitor. The ages vary between 8 and 17. Every week we welcome participants with all kinds of levels. We will have introductory classes and advance courses for those who can already skate. 9

10 5 ACTIVITIES Throughout the ELEMENT Skate Camp Spain participants will skate daily combining skateboarding with many other different activities such as: LANGUAGES The intercultural and international environment that we have makes our camps the best place to practice languages. INTRODUCTION TO STRETCH Every day we stretch at the hostel to properly address the daily exercise in order to prevent any injury. ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES With this program and through practical workshops we make our campers aware of the protection and conservation of the environment. 10

11 CREATIVE WORKSHOP We stimulate the creativity of each participant using art-related workshops. Painting classrooms, creating t-shirts, recycling skate old, etc... 11

12 RELAX AREA We have a chill area at the lodge where participants, in their free time, are able to rest and relax. We have a «skate library» where kids can find all kinds of books, magazines and videos related to skateboarding. Also material related to art and the environment. BBQ S Campers participate with us in the development of the barbecues that we carry out during the week. On the day of their departure, all parents are invited to come pick up their children and eat with us, sharing with them all the experiences lived throughout the week. ELEMENT SKATECAMP BLOG All participants will help the team of monitors to update the blog camp daily, with photos, comments, etc. so that their families can follow their updates and date to date activities at the skate camps. 12

13 OTHER ACTIVITIES The surroundings of the base camp enable us to carry out many other activities where the campers have a blast. 13

14 6 STAFF & VISITS All personnel at Element Skate Camp have teaching experience on skateboarding and/or in the field of education and leisure activities with children. Each of our staff members is extremely excited to be able to share this experience with you and we will make everything possible so that every camper remembers Element Skate Camps for life. Each week an Element Rider will visit the camps. He would chaperon the participants and monitors during skate sessions and would also share his experience and lifestyle with the campers: Alex Amor, Danny León, Juanan Centero, Phil Zwijsen, Jarne Verbrugge, Madars Apse, Ales Amor, Ross McGouran, Nassim, etc...
