Space is limited. Not all applications may be accepted. Bridge Street Booth: $275 (Red Booths) East Park Corner Booth: $240 (Green Booths) East Park Standard Booth: $190 (Yellow Booths) Bridge Park Booth: $150 (Purple Booths) Electricity Required (Y/N) Farmers Market vendors wishing to set up on Bridge Street may only sell items that were approved and sold during the Charlevoix Farmers Market. Those wishing to sell additional handmade items and crafts must apply for a space in East Park or in Bridge Park. No exceptions to this rule will be made. 2 October 12, 13 & 14, 2018 Fri 10pm-6pm Sat 10am 6pm Sun 10am 4pm East Park & Bridge Park, Downtown Charlevoix RULES & REGULATIONS FOR ORCHARDS, ORGANIZATIONS & FARMERS MARKET PARTICIPANTS 1. Eligibility for participation: A. Orchards & Farms: Apple Orchards and Farms must be located in Charlevoix, Antrim, Emmet or Otsego County. B. Farmers Market Applicants: Applicants selling baked goods and other homemade and processed foods must have participated in the 2018 Charlevoix Summer Market. C. Organizations: Non-profit organizations must serve Charlevoix County. 2. Licensing and Rules for Food Sales: Farmers Market Vendors wishing to set up on Bridge Street may only sell items that were approved and sold during the 2018 Charlevoix Farmers Market. Those wishing to sell additional handmade items and crafts must apply for a space in East Park or in Bridge Park. No exceptions to this rule will be made. Non-profit organization your organization s name must be more prominently displayed than any product, brand name or business name. Also, members of your organization must operate the booth. Canned goods, baked goods and other processed and prepared foods must be made in a licensed kitchen or be in compliance with the Cottage Food Law requirements. Required licenses must be displayed during the event. Please submit your completed application along with copies of all appropriate licenses/permits. Contact the Charlevoix County Health Department with questions regarding licensing. You are responsible to file your own 6% Michigan Sales Tax return. 3. Farmers Market Vendors and Organizations Packet Pick Up and Set Up: Space allocation maps & instructions may be picked up at the registration table next to the clock tower in East Park on Thursday Oct 11 between 10am and 7pm. You may set up anytime after 10am on Thursday, Oct 11. Booth set up must be complete no later than 10am on Friday Oct 12. Booths must be removed no later than 8pm Sunday Oct Apple Orchard Packet Pick Up and Set Up: Apple Orchards may choose to set up their tents on Wednesday Oct 10 after 1pm. To reduce congestion and free up parking spaces in the loading zone on Bridge Street on Thursday (the main set up day), Apple Orchards are encouraged to set up their tents on Wednesday Oct 10 after 1pm. Product and displays may be set up on Thursday Oct 11 between 10am and 8pm or early on Friday morning. Space allocation maps & instructions may be picked up at the Chamber office on Wednesday, Oct 10 between 1pm and 5pm or at the registration table in East Park on Thursday Oct 11 between 10am and 7pm. Booth set up must be complete no later than 10am on Friday Oct 12. Booths must be removed no later than 8pm on Sunday Oct 14.
3 5. Bridge Street Booth Set Up: Vendors setting up along the sidewalk facing Bridge Street may set the front of their booths over the cobblestones lining the sidewalk. Do not place items on the sidewalk beyond the cobblestones! The sidewalk must remain open and unobstructed for use as a pedestrian thoroughfare. For safety reasons, the City Police require an unobstructed view of the sidewalk from the road. Open canopies are allowed to shelter crates of apples that are stored in the parking spaces in front of orchard booths facing Bridge Street, but no tent sides will be permitted unless the weather makes it absolutely neccessary. Non Profit and Farmers Market Vendors must keep all products contained within their 10 x 10 booth space. 6. Loading Zones: There will be no parking on the East side of Bridge Street between Antrim and Clinton during the festival. There will be no parking on the East side of Bridge Street in front Bridge Park during the festival. During the festival, Apple Orchards may utilize the parking spaces in front of their booth space for additional apple storage. 7. Trash Disposal: The City of Charlevoix will place dumpsters on East Antrim and Clinton Streets for your use during the festival. Do not use the trash cans in the park. Do not throw water, grease, garbage or anything whatsoever on the grass or sidewalk. The park is to be left as you found it, or cleaner, at the end of the festival. You will be held responsible and required to pay for damages resulting from non-compliance of this rule. Bring your own trash cans and plastic liners for use inside your booth and discard in the dumpsters provided. It is mandatory to keep your area clean and free of garbage. 8. Smoking & Pets Smoking is not allowed in East Park and Bridge Park. Dogs are not allowed in East Park during City Sanctioned events. The Chamber is not responsible for pets that are brought in by the buying public, but we are responsible for ensuring that our vendors know this rule and leave their pets at home. 9. End of Festival Tear Down: Booths, products and trash must be removed no later than 8pm on Sunday Oct 14. Chamber and City Staff are not responsible for items left in the park after 8pm on Sunday. Place all trash in the dumpsters located on Clinton and Antrim Street. The park is to be left as you found it at the end of the festival. 10. The Apple Festival will be held rain or shine. 11. Your check or money order will be deposited upon acceptance. Once accepted, your entry fee is non-refundable. 12. Further details, rules and instructions will be provided to you upon acceptance. 13.
