This weekend s match will be the second meeting between the clubs this season. Moving from the NASL to the USL this past offseason, Fury FC welcomed the Hounds in early May with the Black and Gold prevailing 1-0 by way of a header from Corey Hertzog. Speaking of Hertzog, the forward will look to add to his 13 goals this season. Matching last season s output, Hertzog s 26 goals through two campaigns is the most by any Hounds player over a two-year span in the current era of the USL (since 2011). In the midst of a six-game winless streak (0-4-2), the Hounds drought for three is their longest since also going six games winless last season from June 25 to July 23 (0-5-1). The longest winless streak during the current era of the USL for the Hounds occurred in 2014 when the club opened the season 10 games without a victory (0-6-4). Though eliminated from playoff contention, the Hounds can ensure a top-10 finish in the table with a win on Saturday and Saint Louis not picking up a victory. A loss on the other hand could threaten to match the club s second-to-last finish from last year if Richmond prevails over Louisville. Sticking with the current era of the USL, the Hounds are in regular season finales with their only win coming at Harrisburg to clinch a playoff berth in Three of those six matches have come at home (0-2-1). Currently, Pittsburgh has two players ranked within the top-10 of multiple statistical categories in the league. Hertzog s 13 goals is tied for seventh in the race for the Golden Boot, while his 94 shots lead the USL. Kevin Kerr, on the other hand, is third in the league in chances created at 61 and seventh in crosses with 159. Both stalwarts in the XI this season, Hertzog and Kerr are the only players for the Hounds to have appeared in every league match this season. Overall, the Hounds have had 32 players make an appearance for the club in Of those 32 players, 27 were field players, five goalkeepers and nine overall on loan.
