After defeating the defeading USL Champions New York Red Bulls II, 2-0, the club pushed its unbeaten streak to four matches, taking all three points in three. The streak began against their in-state rivals and Steel FC will look to tie the club s unbeaten record from last season with a result for the first time in Harrisburg. LAST REGULAR SEASON MEETING: Steel FC picked up its first win against it s rival in its last meeting on May 28, downing Harrisburg 3-1. James Chambers ignited the offense, scoring his first goal of the season while Seku Conneh nothced his fifth goal in the second half to double Steel FC s lead. After Harrisburg answered with late goal, Josh Heard drew a penalty kick that was converted by Cory Burke to seal Steel FC s first victory against Harrisburg. STEEL FC TO PLAY FOR CHARITY Philadelphia Union midfielder Adam Najem put on a spectacular performance against his former organization, scoring the first professional goal of his career while adding an assist on the club s other goal. Playing just miles from his hometown of Clifton, NJ, Najem notched the opening goal on a curling strike from just inside the 18-yard box. Najem rounded out his night with his second assist of the season on Santi Moar s second-half goal. MOAR GOALS Santi Moar s collected his second goal of the season Friday night at New York Red Bulls II. The Spaniard ran onto a volley from midfielder Adam Najem and chipped the ball over the on-coming Rafael Diaz for a much needed insurance goal. The tally was his first goal since his first-half goal at Harrisburg City Islanders on April 15. NANCO FINDS ASSIST Forward Chris Nanco notched his first professional assist on the club s opening goal on the road at New York Red Bulls II on Friday. After a patient counter attack, Nanco found Adam Najem at the end of the Red Bulls box. After a quick touch, Najem delivered with a left-footed strike past the diving Rafael Diaz. Bethlehem Steel FC announced this week that it will participate in Soccer Night in PA for Sandy Hook, on Tuesday, June 27. The club teamed up with West Chester United, Newtown Pride FC and Reading United to play a pair of matches while also raising funds and awareness for Newtown Youth and Family Services. The games will begin at 6 p.m. at WCUSC Turf Field in West Chester, PA. Steel FC will play in the opening match of the charity event, playing Newtown Pride FC at 6 p.m. followed by Reading United facing off against West Chester United around 8 p.m. Adult entry is a $5 donation while children under 18 will be allowed free admission. All children are asked to wear their local team jerseys to the event, to show their team pride for Newtown. All proceeds from the event will go directly to NY&FS which helps with peer-to-peer mentoring groups which are greatly needed in the wake of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School that took place in Dec Along with soccer matches, the event will feature inflatables and bounce houses for children as well as face painting, food trucks, band, first responder activities and a soccer clinic by Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association. During the matches, supporters will be able honor and thank local first responders from the region for their dedication and service to their communities. Also attending the event will be a group from the Newtown Youth and Family Services. Gates at the WCUSC Turf Field will open up at 5 p.m.. The field is located at 601 Westtown Rd, in West Chester, PA.

8 BETHELEHEM STEEL FC TECHNICAL STAFF Head coach Brendan Burke Burke is in his second season as head coach of Bethlehem Steel FC, coaching the squad to a record over his tenure. He was formally introduced as the club s first head coach on Oct. 29, Prior to joining Steel FC, Burke served as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Union from 2011 through He was heavily involved in all levels of the U.S. Soccer pyramid, including serving as head coach of the Union s PDL affiliate Reading United from where he had a record of During his time with Reading, Burke coached 49 players that signed professional contracts including Ray Gaddis, C.J. Sapong, John McCarthy and Matt Hedges. Burke served as associate head coach at Northeastern University in Assistant coach Jeff Cook Cook is in his second season as an assistant coach with Bethlehem Steel FC and currently serves as head coach for the U-18 team at the Philadelphia Union Academy. Cook coached the U-16 team from and under his leadership, the U-16 squad had one of its best seasons in The club finished and earned the No. 2 national seed in the USSDA playoffs. The team finished third at the national semifinals in Carson, Calif. Prior to joining the academy, Cook served as the head coach of Dartmouth College for 12 years. While at Dartmouth, Cook led the program to five conference titles and seven trips to the NCAA tournament, including a pair of Sweet 16 appearances. Assistant coach Stephen Hogan Hogan is in his second season with Steel FC. He also serves as the head coach of the Philadelphia Union s PDL affiliate, Reading United. In his first season as Reading s head coach, Hogan led the team to a record, the Mid-Atlantic Division title, and an appearance in the Eastern Conference finals. He made 52 appearances for Reading, while playing from , and holds the second-most appearances in club history. He led the team to the 2009 PDL regular season title and the PDL national semifinals in 2008 and A native of Dublin, Ireland, Hogan spent two seasons as head coach at the College of Saint Rose s men s soccer program.
