Jio Mier coaxed a lead-off walk in the decisive frame. Mier made it all the way to third on an errant pickoff throw from Luis De La Cruz and later scored on a sac fly to left off the bat of Telvin Nash. Patrick Urckfitz got the first two outs quickly in the home half. Austin Hedges forced a free pass after a 14-pitch plate appearance, bringing the winning run to the plate. Urckfitz struck out Yeison Asencio to notch his second save and secure Corpus Christi s 20th triumph of the season. The Hooks squandered two extra-inning leads thanks to dramatic solo shots by San Antonio. Rymer Liriano, who went deep twice Wednesday, cracked a two-out shot over the tall fence in right off Jorge De Leon in the 10th. Down to their last strike in the 12th, Jake Lemmerman took Travis Ballew deep to left field. Corpus Christi surrendered a season-high four home runs, including a two-run shot by Austin Hedges in the fourth. Hedges committed a costly throwing error in the 12th allowing Joe Sclafani to score a go-ahead run in the 12th. Sclafani went 3-for-6 with a home run and three RBIs.
