1 THURSDAY NOVEMBER 11, 2010 MASTERS/VINTAGE DIVISIONS AAAA-AAA playoffs are set & commence play today AAAA and AAA double-elimination playoffs begin today, with 8 teams in the top division and 6 competing in the AAA division. The AAAA set-up was established along the lines of the records of teams, with the teams dropping to the AAA playoffs. After reviewing the runs allowed in both best 3 and 4 games and the strength of schedule of the 4-0 and 3-1 teams in the general pool, the Roy Hobbs Advisory Committee came to a consensus that only 2 teams would join the AAA ranks: the Apple Valley A s and the Cuyahoga Indians, both 4-0, leaving teams in the general pool. It was felt there were a number of 3-1 teams with better strength of schedule than several of the 4-0 teams, but there were more of those teams than there were positions in the AAA bracket. At the end it came down to the fact that Apple Valley won AA a year ago, and the Cuyahoga Indians expressed a preference to play AAA. The Committee suggested an expanded AA bracket In the AAA double-elimination bracket, no loser s bracket games will be played until Friday, with one bye being awarded in the winner s bracket. That bye will go to the top-seeded winner among Thursday afternoon s completed Thursday. The AAA championship game will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at City of Palms Stadium, with the AAAA championship game scheduled for Lee County Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Setting the AA-A-B playoff field The remaining single-elimination playoff brackets in the Masters Division will be settled after Thursday s of handling all of those teams in single-elimination playoffs. The playoff makeup and pairings will be announced at the Masters Division Pairings Party, scheduled for 7 p.m. at MacDaddy s Grill Parkway. (Following the pairings party, where the matchups will be announced and the B Division will be established by draw with teams attending getting selected, the AA, will be posted on royhobbs. com, on the World Series phone system: , and posted at World Series h e a d q u a r t e r s. At each of the games, we are asking that the teams exit their dugouts and line up on the baselines County Stadium and City of Palms Stadium, the national anthem will then be played. The AAAA Division and AAA Division winner s bracket will have double-headers Today, and we ask those teams to mark the occasion during their they so wish.

Snack foods will be served at 7 p.m. and the pairings will be announced about 8 p.m. There will be a cash bar. All members of Masters teams are invited.
