2 2017 Fall Information Packet Madisonville Youth Boosters Baseball at Coquille Parks & Recreation Information Cal Ripken REGISTRATION Online Regular Registration: Open July 19th through 8:00PM August 18th Registration will be entirely online. Any questions regarding Spring baseball registration can be ed to Kacey Leon (Recreation Programs Coordinator - Coquille) at kleon@coquillerecreation.com LATE Registration: Late registration will begin after 8:00PM Friday, August 18th and continue through Sunday, August 20th *** All registrations after August 20th cannot be guaranteed a spot in the league and a $25 late fee will be charged with any registration after August 20th *** COACHING: Anyone Interested in Coaching please sign-up on your registration form as to your interest AND also contact our Baseball Director Louis Passauer via drlouispassauer@bellsouth.net. Information regarding coaches meetings, drafts, evaluations, etc. will then be ed to all coaches. ** Please Note if you plan on coaching you are required to help during the evaluation process ** Babe Ruth REGISTRATION Online Regular Registration: Open July 19th through 8:00PM September 4th You must register to be contacted regarding tryouts. However, no charge will be placed on your credit card until after you have made the team. AGES: Based on Child s Age on April 30, 2018 There will be no T-Ball during the fall. 3 If you wish your child to play in any other age group other than his assigned age group, please contact Louis Passauer at to discuss this possibility prior to registering. *** 13 s who do not make the 13 year old select team may be allowed to participate in the year old league based on ability *** - if you want your 13 evaluated for the year old league please register by Sunday, August 20th Out of District Fee $60 Registration Fees for 6-12 s Include Hat, Shirt, Belt and Socks for Uniforms, pants will need to be purchased separately. However, wait until your coach informs you of what color baseball pants to purchase. Also, includes umpires, awards, and secondary insurance. Each player will receive 2 full button vests: one grey, one white with the Coquille/MYB logo on the left chest and number of choice on back Each player will receive an MLB Outdoor cap style 300 Each player will receive one wicking mesh t-shirt coordinated with the MLB team hat and Coquille/MYB logo Each player will receive a belt and socks to match team color Batting Helmets Facemask is recommended, but not required Bats Any 2 ¼ Barrel bat will be allowed for rec. with a BPF of Applies to ages Ages The bat may not exceed 34 in length, and the bat barrel may not exceed 2 5/8 in diameter. All aluminum/alloy barrel bats and all composite handle (only) are allowed. Only composite barrel bats certified and marked BBCOR.50 will be allowed. Wood barrel bats conforming to the specifications of Official Baseball Rule 1.10 are allowed. The Baseball Board reserves the right to remove any bat deemed not safe for play. Our first need for help will occur during the evaluation process. Please Louis Passauer to express your interest in getting involved. is drlouispassauer@bellsouth.net Cal Ripken BASEBALL SCHEDULE Drafts Drafts will be held Sunday, August 27th ages 6-12 Practices Teams will have from the drafts through Sunday, September 17th for Pre-season practices

5 Regular Season Games Teams will have 12 Regular Season Games (this depends on rainouts or bye s, which occur in leagues with an odd number of teams) Games will begin Monday, September 18th Most games will be held during the regular season on Monday s through Thursday s, occasionally we may have a Saturday game Rainout Games are not guaranteed to be made up, but will be attempted to be made up on Saturday mornings All Teams will make the playoffs and be seeded based on Regular Season Record *** Playoffs will begin after the conclusion of the Regular Season *** *** Playoffs will begin on Saturday, October 28th *** Playoffs will continue on regular game days after Oct. 28th Playoffs will be a double elimination tournament. BABE RUTH BASEBALL SCHEDULE Our year old select teams will participate in travel/all star tournaments both at Coquille and elsewhere. The player s parents will pay for these tournaments, split evenly amongst team members. Uniforms used will be our Madisonville All Star uniforms. If a player does not have these they can be purchased directly from Prep Fan Sports on Highway 21. The coaches of each particular team will decide on practices and tournaments. Cal Ripken ALL STAR/DOUBLE PLAY For Fall Baseball there are no All Star Teams Double Play will be handled via the individual age groups Please note not every age group may field a double play team, but it is our intention to field a double play for each and every age The purpose of our double play program is to give kids the opportunity to grow their baseball skills while competing at an All Star caliber level Any further questions can be addressed by contacting Louis Passauer at: drlouispassauer@bellsouth.net
