2 Welcome aboard the Green Mountain Community Network! Thank you for choosing the GMCN for your travel needs. Whether you have chosen to ride the GMCN to help the environment, save money, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lessen congestion on our roadways, or rely on our services for your mobility, we hope you find our services to be convenient and accessible. How to use this booklet: This booklet is designed to be held horizontally. Completely unfold this cover as shown at right and turn the booklet 90 sideways so that the title on the opposite side County Bus Routes is facing you right side up. Then, flip the pages of the attached booklet to the route you are interested in. The route schedule and information should be facing you correctly as you view the different routes. Albany,Boston, Bratleboro, Burlington, NewYorkCity, Pitsfield,Rutland MAP Bus Route How to read the schedule: Locations: Buses arrive at listed locations at the designated times. Ring the bell or pull the cord to exit the bus. Time Listings: Read across, not down. For example, the 9:30 bus will arrive at Brookside at 9:39. Fares Fee to ride all the routes, except Emerald Line. Children under 5 ride free. Prices subject to change. Discounted weekly and monthly rates available. See specific route for fare information. Route Deviations GMCN buses will deviate up to 1 4 mile from the published routes to pick-up or drop-off passengers, cost is double the fare. Deviations are not included on Complimentary Passes; regular fee will be charged. To request a deviation, call GMCN a day in advance at (802) or ask a bus driver to assist you. If your deviation request cannot be accommodated at the desired schedule time then, per federal law, GMCN will provide the service up to 1 hour before or after the requested time. Arrival/ure Times All times are approximate as weather, traffic, and deviation requests along the route may affect schedule. Please plan on arriving at the bus stop five minutes prior to the scheduled time. Use the pullcord to signal the next stop, or tell your driver. Transfers } } Stops listed without a time: These stops will always be served along a route. Arrival times will vary Mount Anthony Primary Care If you need to take more than one bus to get to where you need to go, ALWAYS ask the driver for a transfer to the next bus when you exit the first bus. Transfers are not accepted on the orange line when traveling northbound from or on the purple line when traveling south to Williamstown. 4 Code of Conduct To ensure everyone has a safe and comfortable journey, the following must be observed while riding with GMCN. GMCN drivers have to right to refuse service to those who do not comply with the code of conduct. Please stay seated and behind yellow line while vehicle is in motion, keep aisle clear and do not disturb other passengers, and do not talk to driver while vehicle is in motion. Seats in front of the bus are reserved for elders, passengers with disabilities and those needing child seats. Please vacate if needed. Use headphones when listening to personal electronic devices. Keep all food and beverages in closed containers. Use of tobacco products and electronic cigarettes are prohibited while on the bus. For safety and sanitary reasons, all passengers are required to wear shoes and shirts, and limit odors that disturb other passengers. Disruptive or unruly behavior, threats, foul, offensive language or harassment including, but not limited to, racial slurs or derogatory remarks based on race, gender, age, or sexual orientation is expressly prohibited on GMCN vehicles. Seat belt use is suggested on buses. Articles which, because of their size or the nature of their contents, may be dangerous to passengers shall not be allowed on the bus. Articles prohibited on GMCN buses include but are not limited to: car batteries, gasoline, kerosene, or any other flammable liquid; no weapons of any kind; illegal drugs; open containers of alcohol; animals, other than service animals, except those animals that can be carried in a closed bag or carrier; any article that cannot be safely held by a passenger or stored underneath a seat that could have potential to hurt another passenger if it were to collide with that passenger during an unscheduled stop. Ask drivers for assistance to secure pull carts, strollers, walkers and wheelchairs. It is a serious health risk to all passengers to allow patrons whose bodily fluids are exposed to ride the bus. Passengers who are experiencing this condition will be removed from the bus or denied access to the bus. This includes, but it not limited to bodily eliminations, saliva, and blood. Passengers are required to pay the proper fare for all GMCN transportation. We reserve the right to ask for a student ID. For everyone s safety, surveillance cameras are in use. Follow these three simply steps to bike and bus! 1. Lower bike rack and place bicycle tires in the frame. 2. With bike in place, pull spring-loaded clamp over your front tire. Always confirm that your bike is secured in the rack before getting on the bus. The driver can provide verbal assistance if needed. 3. To remove your bike, pull the clamp up to release and gently fold it down to its starting position. Remove your bike and ride safely!
