2 Campus Transportation Basics Take advantage of the campus alternative transportation network Download the bus tracking app TransLoc Rider Only park bicycles at bike racks Motor scooters not allowed at bike racks Parking permits required for all motor vehicles, motorcycles and motor scooters; bike permits encouraged Read the signs and park only in lots where permit allows Bookmark

4 Lextran: On and Off Campus Lextran is the city s public transit provider Operates 7 days/week, 5:30 a.m. to midnight 22 routes throughout the city 3 routes with direct service on/to campus 14 Blue/White Routes 26 Green Route (Connector) 15 Red Mile Most other routes converge at the downtown Transit Center

7 Late Night Transportation On Campus On-Demand Service (859) 221- RIDE (7433) Mon. - Fri. Sunday midnight - 5 a.m. 7 p.m. - midnight Calls must be received at least 30 minutes prior to the end of service. Limited to campus.

15 Parking Permit Options Residential Permits (R Permits) -Most R areas require an R permit 24/7 -Students may enter lottery if sold out Periphery Permit - Kroger Field area permit (K Permit) - Commuter students - Also open to residential students Motorcycle/Motor Scooter Permits Short-term Parking Options -Parking meters -Hourly paid parking in W.T. Young Library Visitor Lot, Sports Center Garage & South Limestone Garage Remote Parking -Lower cost option, served by campus buses ADA Accessible Permits - Two-week temporary - Extended/permanent
16 Off-Peak Parking Options Parking Structures - Any valid student permit may enter some parking garages after 3:30 p.m. - Other areas change to any valid permit after 5 p.m. Campus Lots -Most areas require a permit until 7:30 p.m., but always check the signs -K or R permits are valid in most intermediate Employee (E) and Commuter (C) lots 3:30-7:30 p.m. - Most core employee areas allow K or R permits after 5 p.m. -No permit required in E or C after 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted Off-Peak Permits -Reduced rate compared to regular student permits -Valid after 3:30 p.m. in most E and C lots Meters Pay-by-the-hour structure parking
17 Purchasing a Vehicle Parking Permit Permit sales dates and costs vary based on permit type Permit sales start in June more info to follow Apply for parking permit at by mail or in person at our offices Before applying, residential students must have their housing assignment; commuter students must have registered for classes If first choice of permit is sold out, apply for student permit lottery Depending on area, single-semester permits may be available
18 Visitor Parking For planned visits, students can visit our office to pick up a temporary visitor pass For short and/or last minute visits, visitors can utilize pay parking structures or meters After hours and on weekends, visitors can park in lots not controlled for permits but read the signs! Visitor options may vary on event weekends When in doubt, check with us. We re here to help!
19 Football Game Day Parking Vehicles should be moved from Kroger Field areas and Sports Center Lots by 7 a.m. on game days No parking on University on days of home football games Students may move their vehicles to most E lots anytime after 3:30 p.m. on Friday; do not move to an R lot Vehicle Relocation Map online University Drive & Sports Center Garages closed on game days Cars must be moved back to Kroger Field before 5 a.m. Monday
20 Citations and Enforcement Designed to protect spaces for permit holders One citation per year excused if you have permit for area and contact us within 10 days Most citations/impoundments may be appealed online Pay tickets promptly to prevent holds on student account or escalation of enforcement Pay attention to reminders about citations
