Drug Tested Event: This is a natural (drug-free) competition. All competitors must meet eligibility criteria listed in the Drug Testing Guidelines in order to participate. Competitors should review these procedures and the list of banned substances at thenaturalmusclenetwork.com/ocb/forms/drugtestingguidelines.pdf prior to registering. Drug Testing: All competitors are required to be polygraph tested prior to competing. In addition, IFPA pro card winners (Bodybuilding, Bikini and Figure Open overall, Men s Bodybuilding Masters Age 40+ overall, and Women s Bodybuilding and Figure Masters Age 40+ overall winners) are required to provide urine specimens immediately after the event for urinalysis testing. Photo identification must be shown prior to polygraph tests and at the time of urine specimen collections. Any competitor not polygraph tested or any above referenced IFPA pro card winner not supplying a urine specimen immediately after the contest will be subject to disqualification. Membership: All competitors are required to be current members of OCB to participate in this event. Membership forms and online registration options can be found on OCBonline.com at the top of the Upcoming Events/Schedule page, or membership can be obtained at check-in for the event. Cost is $60 for the annual membership and includes a one-year subscription to Fitness & Physique Magazine. Division Offerings: Men s Bodybuilding: Debut, Novice, Age 50+, Age 40+, Open, Men Physique (no crossover from Men Physique to bodybuilding) Men s Wheel Chair Women s Bodybuilding: Novice, Age 40+, Open, wheel chair Women s Physique- Open only, Figure: Debut (first show only), Novice, Age 50+, Age 40+, Open Bikini: Debut, Novice, Open & Age 40+. Number of classes for each division will be based on the number of entries in each class. Promoter reserves the right to add or drop classes based on number of entries.

2 Classes: When more than one class in a division, classes are formed by dividing competitors evenly by height. (Class breakdowns and the order of events will be supplied to competitors the day of the event). Crossovers: A "crossover" is entering more than one division. For example, someone may enter the Figure Novice division, if eligible, and also elect to crossover into the Figure Open division and compete in it as well. Crossovers between the Figure, Bikini and Women s Bodybuilding categories are not permitted. There will be no crossovers allowed between Debut and Novice. Awards: Custom awards for top 5 placements in each class and one best presentation award given to the best performance by male or female bodybuilder or physique. Entry Deadline: 04/13/15 for mailing ( firm), 04/17/15 for ing (sulcop96@aol.com) or calling ( ) in entry. Entries will not be allowed on the day of the show without prior contact with the promoter. NO CHECKS AFTER APRIL 8, Money order or bank check only. Fees: If entry is received by or postmarked by 04/13: Entry $60, Crossover Entry $35 for each additional class. After 04/14 to 04/17: Entry $90, Crossover Entry $60 for each additional class. OCB Membership: $60 (if not already a current member). Polygraph screening $45 (Polygraph fee not refunded if not passing and is paid directly to the examiner, cash only). Bodybuilders (Men and women) do NOT have to do a 60 second routine in this event. At the night show bodybuilders have the option to either come out to house music, have their bio read and hit 5-6 poses of their choice and exit or do the traditional 60 second routine to music of their choice. If selecting to do the routine check off the presentation box on the application (no additional charge) and bring a CD with you on show day. Props will be allowed and the presentations will be after the stage walks and posing displays. There will be a special award given to the best presentation. So all will pose but only those wishing to challenge for the presentation award will have to have an actual routine prepared.

3 Check-In/Polygraph Test: Will be done at the host hotel on Thursday April 16 from 3pm till 9 pm & Friday April 17 from 9:00am till 9:00pm ONLY, NO CHECK IN S WILL BE DONE DAY OF THE SHOW. at the host hotel listed below. To schedule the drug testing go to the OCB website and look under the Spirit of America under upcoming events and schedule your appointment on the link provided on the information page. All contestants are encouraged to check in the day before the show. Check-ins ONLY will also be conducted at the event location on the day of the show from 8:00 am till 11:00 am. Contestant meeting: None. See attached memorandum for contest day information. Backstage policy: One assistant max per competitor allowed, assistant MUST buy a trainer/assistant ticket, which is good for general admission and back stage access. Pump-Up Area: There is an ample area back stage for use in pumping up before going on stage. Competitors are welcome to bring their own equipment and mirrors; however, due to school rules no heavy equipment will be provided by the promoters. Professional Services Available for Purchase: Stage photography available on the day of the show. Spray Tanning will be available on site from Élite Bronzing. Make-Up: To be announced. Prejudging: The Prejudging portion of the event will consist of: Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini group comparisons. Finals: The Finals portion of the event will consist of: Bikini and figure stage walks in numerical order to house music followed by bodybuilding posing display and bio to house music. For those male and female bodybuilders who wish to compete for the best presentation they will be allowed 60 seconds to pose to their own music (CD only) and use of props is allowed. This will be followed by awards starting with Bikini, Men Bodybuilding, Women Bodybuilding and Figure. Overalls will be done at the end of each division. Tickets: Prejudging: Adult all-day Admission $35, Under 18 Admission $10. Finals: Assistant Ticket/Back Stage Pass: $40 (only applicable to those helping a competitor prepare back stage. One assistant max per competitor is permitted. Assistant tickets are good for general admission and back stage access). 6 Hello everyone, first I would like to say thank you for entering the SOA. This show has drawn over 150 competitors so anticipate a busy day. For that reason I like cutting the competitor meeting to a bare minimum and getting out 90% of what needs to get passed through this guide so please review the below information for each division you plan to enter. This will cover posing, rules, stage walks and the scoring and provide a better understanding of how the show is run. General Guidelines: Drug testing: Bikini: Figure: Bodybuilding: Competitor Intro Sheet: Will be filled out and turned in at check in. If you can print one and fill it out before check in please bring it with you and give it to Debbie or myself. To print a bio go to the last page: Music: For bodybuilding presentation, figure and bikini stage walks house music will be used. For the stage walk there will be a series of X s and arrows directing you for your stage walk. This is NOT judged so enjoy and have fun with it. For bodybuilding presentation go to center stage and hit your best 5-6 poses as your bio is read and walk off. For those wishing to challenge for the best presentation see further information below. Tanning: There will be a space provided for you to apply tanning material out back, and a place to apply oils. DO NOT apply them in the halls or bathrooms. Not only does this make a mess it also makes a slipping hazard and we do not want any spectators injured. If you go watch the show put a shirt and sweats on so the oils and dyes do not get in the seats. We want to keep this venue and if we damage the bathrooms, get people injured or trash the seats we will lose it in the future. Awards: the top five will be posted out back, in no order, after the posing. If you do not make the top five please stick around and cheer on your fellow competitors. Not everyone can win, but you can all forge lasting relationships, share information and help each other. When you accept your award there will be a number on the stage one through five. Stand on the appropriate number for your placement. For example if your number three stand on the three... Back stage: One coach per person out back please. It s not a large area so limit the number of people you have around you. You can bring your own pump up equipment and any small mirrors you want, but there is no equipment provided, by agreement with the school. Listen to the expeditors and have your number handy at all times. You will be called by your number most of the time so listen for it and get lined up when you are called. The show is too big to wait and I have had many people miss a class because they left the venue or were not paying attention. It is your responsibility to be lined up on time so be attentive and listen for instruction. On Stage: Once on stage, stand on the white line and listen for instructions from the head judge. He will tell you what to do, when to hit a pose and when to stand relaxed. Get into your poses QUICKLY! Again it is a big show and the head judge will only take 6-10 seconds between calling a pose and giving the relax command. Placement on stage has nothing to do with your placement overall. So do not get discouraged if you are not center stage, you may have won as soon as you walked out and they never needed to put you anywhere else. Smile and have a good time, it s all about having fun.

7 Photography: No flash photography. Your family can take photos, just no flash. Presentation award: Over the last several years I have noticed a huge decrease in interest by the bodybuilders to so the night routine. After an extensive polling process I found that less than 20% of the competitors in the show actually want to take the time and effort to come up with a routine. For that reason the routine is not mandatory! You, as a competitor, may elect to do a posing display or a 60 second routine. Here are the differences- Display- The competitor will come out to house music, go to center stage as the bio is read and hit 5-6 of you best and favorite poses and come off stage. You do not need to memorize a routine or bring music just display a few of your best shots for family, friends and the photographer and come off. Presentation- This will be the typical second posing display, choreographed to music and props allowed. Bring your own CD and hand it to the DJ prior to going on stage with any specific instructions. This will be scored by the judges but ONLY for the best presentation award and that will be given to the best presentation of the night. Please review the guidelines on the OCB site for each division! I point this out because each year a competitor will show up with a coach who is not familiar with the OCB rules, qualifications or criteria and they prep the client based on what they ASSUME the guidelines are or base the prep on the guidelines of other federations. This has led to a lot of unnecessary drama. If you have a coach, make sure they have reviewed the OCB guidelines and have you properly prepared for this event. If training yourself then make sure you have covered the judging criteria, guidelines and all other information before heading to the venue.

8 Judges: Stick around for the judge s feedback, they all take notes. If you can't wait for them then an list will be posted on my website. This is your best tool for progression, feedback. The judging criteria is all on the OCB website so review it before the show and look at past champions and see what they brought to the table. Don't assume just because your coach and girlfriend said you should have won that they are correct. If there is a judging error it will be corrected, meaning if the tabulation was wrong and placements were incorrect I WILL FIX IT. The scores are checked twice after tabulation BUT mistakes have occasionally been made. Once identified it is corrected. It may not happen at the show, but it will get rectified at some point. The score sheets are sent to the OCB and the math is checked there. If an error was made the competitors will be informed and the placements corrected on the website and for the magazine. For information on what OCB judges look for and how they are trained you can look here: Sportsmanship: Please remember you are not alone on stage, family and friends as well as 100's of strangers are watching you. I have seen competitors not place where they thought they should and have meltdowns on stage. This embarrasses yourself and others and will not be tolerated. I will ask you to depart the venue and you will be banned from future events if the actions are severe enough. I have had smashed trophies, the middle finger salute to the judges, f- bomb laden tyrants and people refusing to walk on stage an accept a placement. None of them have ever been allowed to return. This is bodybuilding, not the Superbowl. There are no riches, Nike endorsement deals or millions of media people waiting to meet and greet you. This is 100 or so people who put everything into an event that lasts one day that perhaps 600 people will see and the best you get at the end is a big ugly sculpture AND most important the satisfaction of getting to the physical ideal that only about 0.099% of the population ever achieve. So bottom line, you won before you got to the venue. Have fun, make friends and enjoy the day like it s a birthday or Christmas with your great physique being the present.
